(Pool Access/Use) Our CLIFTON GUEST AND FISHING LODGE is an off-site (250 feet from the Main Hotel Building) 2,500 square foot, 2 story home located on spacious grounds (approximately 1/2 acre) surrounding a large swimming pool with "Golden Mean" dimensions (44 x 27 foot lap pool) and spa. This luxurious home features: antique Florida heart-pine flooring; a ground floor separate Master Bedroom suite with King-sized bed that contains its own partially equipped kitchenette with dining table, a separate sitting area, and its own bathroom with shower; a second ground floor bedroom with queen sized bed and its own partially equipped kitchenette; a second floor Master Bedroom suite with King-sized bed and its own spacious bathroom with large shower and changing area; a fourth bedroom on the second floor with King-sized bed featuring partial views of the St. Lucie River; two additional bathrooms with showers; a Great Room with a fully equipped gourmet kitchen, large dining table, Island table with additional seating, a spacious sitting area with comfortable chairs and a convertible queen sleeper sofa; a grand Living Room with oversized couches, chairs, bar, and card table; a separate wine bar room with comfortable oversized chairs; a separate sitting area with an additional single-sized sleeper sofa; 4 separate private porches with comfortable outdoor furnishings; in-room washer and dryer; and access to the pool and spa. This Clifton Guest and Fishing Lodge was originally built in 1914 by well know architect, Sam Matthews, and has been extensively renovated by renowned interior decorator, Diane Davant, who lived in the home from 1997 through 2017. In 2018, in order to save the home from being demolished in connection with a proposed luxury condominium development, the owners of the Old Colorado Inn relocated the historic structure to the Old Colorado Inn property via barge along the St. Lucie River and performed additional renovations to the home. In the early 1950's Ralph Evinrude (Chairman of the Outboard Marine Corporation) stayed at the Clifton Guest and Fishing Lodge while he was courting the famous movie star, Frances Langford. Evinrude eventually married Langford and the the couple settled down in nearby Jensen Beach and have had a lasting impact on the Treasure Coast due to their generous philanthropic legacy.
