Enjoy all of the best that the Guanacaste providence has to offer. Relax on the deck while enjoying views of the ocean, mountains and private pool! Listen to the tropical birds and Howler Monkeys! Take peaceful morning or evening walks and watch the breathtaking sunrises and sunsets. Head down to the Beach and have a meal and/or drink at the Tiki Hut restaurant. There are also numerous beaches within 20 to 30 minutes to the North and South that offer many things to see and do: Surfing, bodyboarding, snorkeling, fishing, turtle watching, jet skis, horseback rides, ziplines, etc. If you have any questions or would like recommendations, just ask!

The house is excellent, tastefully furnished, kitchen is very well equipped, beds are very good, a very comfortable home for a short stay. The location, on the other hand, is less than desirable. it is so remote the boredom can be overwhelming for a long stay.

Best of Costa Rica

I have made numerous trips to Costa Rica over the last several years and our recent trip was by far our favorite. Our stay at Todd and Rebecca's home was exceptional. The home is absolutely beautiful which is located in a private gated community. Everything from booking the home to check in and check out was flawless. Any inquiries we had of Todd and Rebecca were answered within minutes and they gave us a lot of insight on activities in their area. If you are looking for a private getaway, away from the crowding of the larger tourist areas, you will not go wrong staying at this property. Tim and Emily A.

Awesome house but

The house is amazing but to get there is another story. To get to the house you have to drive about 17 miles of the worst dirt road every. If it rains you better have a truck or SUV. It’s not a place to stay if you want to explore. The only other minor thing I thought was creepy was the camera on the pool, there are cameras all around the house not sure one is need on the pool. They house is in great shape some minor things need fixing but overall it is awesome.

Thank you for your comments Brian! We have continued maintenance and upgrades on the house as it is our second home. We strive to make guests feel like they don’t want to leave once there, just like we feel. Regarding the camera’s, they were all there when we purchased the house. The cameras are turned off when we have guests. The one that you said was pointed at the pool actually is pointed at the entire back yard. Like most vacation homes in CR, owners have invested in cameras systems that cover the entire perimeter of the house as an added layer of security when the homes are not occupied. The roads do get some pot holes in sections during the rainy season but the Government’s Roads Department grades the roads several times per year and this year they have resurfaced several large sections with a blacktop-like surface. Playa Marbella is one of the top 3 surf beaches in Costa Rica and like many of the great beaches in CR, the roads aren’t always paved and can be a turn off to some people. That said, I recommend people just play a little Jason Aldean - Dirt Road Anthem when people hit the unpaved road. Marbella is definitely worth the journey; The beach, the people, & vibes are incredible.

The house is gorgeous and well kept. My family loved the pool and the bedrooms. There is no AC downstairs only fans and although leaving doors open creates a cooler breeze it still remains quite warm and you invite whatever bugs are flying around. Upstairs bedrooms are beautiful and all had an AC unit but not strong enough to AC whole house. During our stay an AC broke in one of the bedrooms and out of owner control. Frustrating for us as our sons were hot at night and had to miss two days of excursions waiting on maintnence people to arrive. The washer and dryer was amazing to have and allowed us to underpack. Plenty of showers and bathrooms all clean and well stocked. Beds were very comfortable and plenty of closet space in master bedroom. Remote location and near beaches and water activities but not close to zipline, volcano, or rainforest like activities. We would stay again just maybe not with our kids.

We absolutely love Costa Rica (CR)! That's why we chose to buy the house. After 5 trips to CR and searching for 1.5 years for a home in Guanacaste close to the beach, and looking at numerous houses for sale, Casa Hijau and Marbella felt perfect the minute we arrived. We were sold!!

The location (centrally located along the coast of Guanacaste) was ideal for us as we wanted to be able to visited beaches and places North and South within an hour. The layout of the house has a great flow and since it is located near the top of the development, it has all the views of the mountains and ocean we were looking for. We also loved the open concept the architect designed in house. It allows a lot of fresh air to flow through the home and gives a feeling of connection to the outside when inside.

Whatever reason that brings you to here, we hope you too will find the peace and relaxation that we experience at Casa Hijau.
