New private Pickleball Court! Our guests can enjoy our private pickleball court, perfect for enthusiasts and beginners alike. For those who love basketball, our court is equipped with a basketball hoop, offering a versatile space for both sports. Enjoy a game of pickleball in the morning and switch to shooting hoops in the afternoon. This unique amenity guarantees endless fun and fitness opportunities for guests of all ages.

Our newly constructed home (2022) has four bedrooms, three bathrooms, and a fully equipped kitchen. Designed to comfortably sleep 12 guests, our open concept kitchen comes complete with dishes, cookware, and spices. There are also two separate living rooms, each with its own Smart TV for entertainment.

Indoor activities include ping pong, foosball, and Pac-Man, while outdoor activities when seasonally available feature pickleball court, basketball hoop (BRING YOUR OWN BASKETBALL), cornhole, and Kanjam. You can gather around the lower back patio propane Fire Pit on cool evenings or light up the upper deck gas grill for barbecuing on sunny afternoons. All linens are provided except for beach towels.

The dock is available if you bring a boat. Boat rental is available at the Corner Landing nearby. You can conveniently navigate your rental boat directly from Corner Landing rental to our dock. Enjoy the seasonal boat rental services offered at Corner Landing (CornerLanding.net) and take advantage of the convenience of parking your boat at our private dock. The easement to the dock is about a 200 yard walk across a yard, with access to Snow Lake, part of the Chain of Lakes that includes Lake James, Jimmerson Lake, and Big Otter Lake. Please note there is not a swimmable shoreline near the private dock. However, there is a public access site at the end of our road where you can swim and also, and just three miles away, you can find Pokagon State Park, which offers a sandy beach area. Additionally, there are various enjoyable attractions such as movie theaters, winery tours, as well as boat launches, shopping centers, and restaurants in the area.

New for 2025! A second home is now available right next door. Perfect for larger families or groups who’d like a bit more space—consider booking both homes together for your stay!

**NO Parking along roadway. Please park in driveway only. Parking is available for boat trailers.

Amazing Stay

Our stay was perfect. There was something for everyone in our family from comfortable beds, a fully equipped kitchen, the pickleball court and ping pong tables, to the very thoughtful baby proofing which was perfect for traveling with a crawler. Carrie was so responsive and thoughtful with us. Highly recommend and hope to be back!

This is the perfect lake cottage for a family getaway. Plenty of activities for the kids to do direct access to the water and snow lake was absolutely perfect. Connecting to Lake James and being able to go to the sandbar was also a huge benefit. We had everybody from three years old to 73 years old and everybody enjoyed it. Carrie is stopa wonderful host.

Great house and location

This was the perfect house for us to spend the weekend tobogganing and hiking around Pokagon state park. We were also able to check out a winery and local restaurant, the wild winds buffalo preserve. It was clean, convenient, and the hosts were very helpful!

Perfect stay for families!

We had a great stay with family and three young kids. The house is beautiful and very clean. They were very accommodating with our kids and set up a pack n play and high chair for us. Great week on Snow Lake

We had a great week of family fun enjoying boating, skiing, wake boarding and fishing. The Pickle Ball , basketball, an corn hole games added to the fun. It was a beautiful home with everything you could want provided in a lovely and vey functional kitchen. Enjoyed the outdoor table on the upper deck for dining as well.

Friends Lake Trip

Two families gathering for a week at Snow Lake and had a wonderful time. Plenty of beds and rooms to spread out - clean and well kept. Ping pong, foosball, nice dock had room for our boat and a jetski. Carrie was very responsive to any and all questions we had. Really enjoyed our time. Thank you!

Glad we went

Two families. Kids ages 2-8. Property was clean and nicely updated and in good condition. Easy access to restaurants and state park. Indoor games for down time. And we thought the pickle was on the property but it was as if you just had to walk 2 houses away. This house was definitely one of the nicest on the street and there wasn't a whole lot to explore on foot. But that wasn't our intention. Host was friendly. Would stay again.

The private pickleball/basketball area is located on our wooded lot directly across the street from the house—it's part of the property and tucked into a peaceful, partially shaded setting that’s perfect for summer play. There’s also a picnic table in that area, which makes it a nice little hangout spot too! We’re glad you were able to enjoy nearby Pokagon as well. We provide a park pass for our guests to make it easy to explore all the great hiking and outdoor activities the park has to offer. Family fun time

The house is clean, new, good floorplan. Downstairs game room fun for kids! We rented pontoon boat and kept it at the dock which is short walk down from house. Outdoor fire pit fun for s’mores. Owner was responsive to any questions and showed us property upon arriving. We would stay again!

Fun for all

Everyone enjoyed the lower level with the ping pong table, foosball, and Pac-Man. Before the snow came there was some time to enjoy the pickle ball/basketball court. All the ladies in the kitchen appreciated the amount of dishes and utensils and the great appliances. Our group of 5 adults and 4 kids could easily eat together. Bright and cheery!

Awesome cottage👍

We were very impressed with the cottage and the amenities! The beds and furniture were very comfortable and the appliances and amenities were awesome. The little touches that were provided along with detailed instructions were great. The season pass for Pokagon State Park was much appreciated and our friends enjoyed seeing the lodge and the park. We came to boat and beyond the water unfortunately mother nature had a rainy day during our stay. The ping-pong table, electronic video arcade and foosball was great to use while it rained. The outdoor deck off the kitchen was nice for the morning coffee to enjoy the view. The owners were a delight to work with and very responsive. We would give it a strong 5 stars and would definitely do it again!! Thank you very much Carrie👍👍

Perfect Week

Wow, what a great trip! We had ages 8 months to 73 years old and couldn’t have picked a better location for a family getaway! Carrie and Greg have thought of EVERYTHING! From a fully equipped kitchen to pickle ball court! You really only need to bring beach towels and sunscreen. We loved that the private boat dock was close, but we still had room for corn hole boards, running around, and outdoor bubbles for the littles. The location is great too. We were able to play golf, disc golf, visit a state park, and shop all within 10-15 minute drive. Carrie provided us with great information when we arrived about restaurants, swimming spots, sandbars, etc. Snow Lake is so calm and peaceful, but you could also travel on the chain of lakes for a different experience. Everyone left having a great experience!

Great House

House was awesome. Pickleball court the most fun. More than enough space. Tons of cookware, silverware, spices, towels, coffee, sugar, etc. Picture 44 needs to be removed, as you can no longer see the lake. I didn't see a private dock. There were no trespassing signs everywhere. So if you are wanting this house for lake use, not a good choice. Felt lije we could not walk to the lake easily.Thankfully, the pickle ball court, ping pong table, games kept us marvelously entertained.

Thank you for your feedback on your recent stay. We're glad you enjoyed the new Pickleball court and ping pong. Regarding the dock, it is available for guests who bring their own boat, and rentals are also available on the lake. Guests can appreciate the convenience of parking their boat at our private dock, which is just a 200-yard walk across a yard. This dock provides access to Snow Lake, part of the Chain of Lakes that includes Lake James and its beautiful sandbars, as well as Pokagon State Park Beaches. There is no swimmable shoreline near the private dock. It's worth noting that neighboring properties have placed No Trespassing signs due to instances where visitors unintentionally ventured into their yards. We appreciate your feedback, which helps us improve and meet your expectations. We hope to have the opportunity to host you again in the future.

Senior weekend

Carrie was great to communicate with, we had no problems or complaints at all during our stay. The house is beautiful and well furnished, they have literally thought of anything you may need/want in the kitchen. Everything was very clean and well stocked. Hours were spent playing ping pong! We didn’t have great weather to enjoy the outdoor amenities, and there is new construction blocking a lot of the lake view which was disappointing but could not be helped. I highly recommend Carrie and 5 The Hickory Hill Lakehouse!
