Located in the heart of the quiet and comfortable Colington Harbour community, this 4-bedroom waterfront home features a wide variety of amenities and deck space, making it the perfect nautical-themed escape. Get away from the worries of the world with a private dock, large backyard, and all of the wonderful community benefits of Colington Harbour, including a sound beach access, sheltered picnic area, and playground. And when you're ready to head to the ocean for some fun in the sun, the Ocean Bay Boulevard beach access, with lifeguard station, handicap access, parking lot, and bathhouse, is just a 4.5-mile drive away (12 minutes).
When you arrive at this gorgeous teal and yellow cottage, you'll find plenty of parking in the large driveway. The main entrance will take you into a white and gold split foyer with stairs that will lead you up to the main living space or down to the ground floor. In the well-furnished main living area, you'll be greeted with airy cathedral ceilings which provide lots of natural light and panoramic sound views, providing the perfect spot to unwind at the end of a long day and catch the breathtaking sunset on the water. The living area also has a 75” 4K HD Smart TV for family movie night! If you're looking for a place to catch up on email or work remotely, directly off of the main living area is a cozy office space with access to a large furnished deck and views of the water. The home office has an electrically operated stand-up desk and separate 27” Samsung curved monitor with cable routing. The house is equipped with 400Mbs download/20Mbs upload speed in a mesh system that is available throughout the entire house AND all the way out to the dock! At the end of a long day, step out onto the fully furnished deck with a cool drink to take in a picture perfect Outer Banks sunset over the water.
The main level is also home to a gourmet kitchen with a large center island, marble countertops, and prep sink with updated appliances, a Ninja coffee maker, two (2) ovens, and a gas stovetop, making this the perfect place to whip up a meal that will satisfy your entire party. Just off the kitchen is a laundry area with washer and dryer, a large walk-in pantry with plenty of storage space, and additional work space with a second monitor. The kitchen spans out into a dining area that seats 8 as well as a full size bar with a sink, marble countertops, additional full-size refrigerator, and wine cooler where you and your guests can reflect on the day with beverage in hand. Down the hall is a full-size Queen Bedroom with access to the hallway bathroom and a King Master Bedroom that hosts a private bathroom with tiled shower stall and jetted tub, a 55” 4K HD Smart TV for catching up on your favorite shows, and sliding glass doors that lead to the furnished deck with gorgeous waterfront views.
Heading downstairs from the foyer entrance, you'll find yourself in the game room which has a foosball table and a Multi-Williams standup arcade machine, a fun blast from the past for everyone in your group with Williams classic games like Defender, Stargate, Bubbles, Joust, Robotron, Rally X, and more, as well as Nintendo classics like Mario Bros, and Super Mario Bros, and other Classics including Ghost n Goblins, Solomon's Key, Ice Climber, Kick Rider, and more! The game room leads directly to a bonus room which has two (2) twin beds and access to a covered furnished deck. Adjacent from the game room is a den with comfy furniture, a small library and reading space, a wet bar, flat-top electric stove, oven, and minifridge that makes it convenient to whip up an afternoon snack while taking in the views of the water. Down the hall is an additional Queen Bedroom with access to a full bathroom with a shower/tub combo and a King Master Bedroom with a private bathroom with a shower stall and access to a screened-in porch.
Outside, Adirondack chairs surround a stone fireplace off the water for your leisure while private access to two boat lifts and a floating swim dock with ladder means this is the perfect place to cool off in the canal or moor up before a fishing trip on the Albemarle Sound. The large, fenced-in backyard is great for kiddos and dogs or you can take a trip to the waterfront dog park in Colington Harbour. Enjoy fresh, local seafood on the park-style charcoal grill while the family plays cornhole or takes the two available kayaks out for a spin. If poolside is more your style, take advantage of the waterfront Colington Harbour community pool during your stay. Try a tasty slice from Colington Pizza (they even deliver!) or sample a crab benedict and mimosa for Sunday brunch at The Saltbox Café. Colington Café is another great place to enjoy the local fare, especially if you're celebrating a birthday or anniversary. If you enjoy cooking at home, stop by Billy's Seafood Market for a fine selection of fresh seafood including everything from shrimp and oysters to mahi-mahi and tuna. While you're out exploring, be sure to stop by the Wright Brothers National Memorial where you can experience an interactive museum about the nation's history of aviation and enjoy a 360-degree view of the surrounding beach as you stand beside the famous monument. The house was just as described. Clean, cheerful, with lots of outside access. the views from all decks were terrific. Nicely equipped, we had 6 people who value their privacy and two people who needed to work. There were spots for working, great access. We dropped kayaks in the water every day.
