Relax and unplug on private Lake Waunetta in 2-bedroom Woodbine Cabin. Near Paris, IL. Enjoy the wildlife by the lake, relax in the spacious sunroom or roast s'mores by the bonfire! Sunflowers and pumpkins nearby in summer and fall. We are 20 mins drive to Terre Haute, IN with a wide array of museums and restaurants. Due to insurance restrictions, there is NO fishing, boating or swimming in the lake.

Cozy little house by the lake

My wife and I enjoyed our stay at the relaxing house by the lake. We had multiple hiking opportunities within an hour of the house that kept us busy everyday. We enjoyed star gazing into the clear skies at night and relaxing inside. It was a great stay!

Peaceful and private

My best friend and I got away from the busy hustle and bustle of daily life to this little gem after spending the day kayaking. The property and home was just as described. It was peaceful and private and only 20 minutes away from dining/grocery store. Lovely little get away where we were "forced" to turn off our phones, emails, etc. Great place to read, pray, chat, play cards etc. We were a little nervous about the heat and having 2 air conditioners...it was very comfortable. No issues whatsoever. Would highly recommend.

I wish I could give it ten stars

They call this a cabin, but it's a beautiful home, on a gorgeous and secluded property of two hundred acres. I love that this farm has been in the family for 5 generations. I have never heard or seen so many birds in one location. The owners are both lovely people. The place was furnished with everything you could possibly need. And spending evenings outside by the fire pit overlooking a small lake with wonderful nighttime animal calls was unbelievably relaxing. I can't wait to think of another excuse to go back.

Charming cabin, lovely setting. Easy to find with the directions we were sent. We had a great weekend - it went too fast of course - but we would definitely recommend this cabin to anyone who might ask. The outside cabin lights were pretty bright and minimized our firefly enjoyment. Or maybe there just weren’t very many because of all the rain they were having in the area. But we did enjoy the ones we saw! We don’t see many of those in Colorado!

Stay by the Pond

Group of 5 guys came to town on hunting trip and we had an outstanding place to stay that was just as advertised. Very quiet and a great view. The owner told me beforehand that cell service was not great but it was nice to not have people staring at their phones the entire time. Hope to be back!!

Lakeside getaway

We picked this place because it was very close and convenient to our son’s property nearby. When we arrived we were pleasantly surprised at how beautiful it was. We even asked to borrow some folding chair which they supplied. Great place to stay!!

Peaceful getaway

Stayed at this property for two days while visiting the covered bridge festival. The cabin is lovely and very quiet. The owners were very prompt to answer questions. A nice history of the farm and cabin and different restaurants in the area was left by the owners, which was very helpful as we have never been to this area. The cabin is very clean and cozy. The incorporation of some antique items added charm to the decor. We are planning to return, next year, for this festival and this will be our first choice of places to stay.

Hidden gem

Tucked in the woods, this little cabin has a lot of history and heritage. Loved the view of lake wauneta and had the chance to interact with the son of the host. He showed me around their farm, gave me tons of home grown veggies and shared loads of stores about the neighborhood. When you open the main door, the photo will make you smile. There are several vintage photos of this historic farm. The place does not have Wi-Fi or cell phone coverage which was exactly my need. The only flip side is the window AC is constantly running and they don't want you to turn it off. Full kitchen with utensils. Highly recommend.

Absolutely Amazing!!!

First let me say that the pictures do not do this place justice. This property is absolutely beautiful. The view of the water and all the wildlife to look at is stunning. The hosts are absolutely amazing people. They have even thought of the littlest of details, like providing binoculars and bug spray that you will find on the fireplace mantle. You will also find an array of different types of pillows to fit everyone’s needs. We have stayed at many vacation rentals and never had such amazing hosts. We ran into a problem when we first came into town and they went out of their way to help us out and make sure our trip wasn’t ruined. We couldn’t thank them enough. If you are looking for a beautiful relaxing place to vacation you do NOT want to pass this place up. You will not be sorry.
