Calypso is located on the west end of the beach adjacent to Panama City Beach Fishing Pier and the Pier Park shopping & entertainment center, with a 24 Cinema movie complex, small specialty shops such as Ron Jon Surf Shop, Borders Book Store and large department stores such as Target, JC Penny, Dillards, Old Navy and Wal-Mart. Pier Park’s entertainment and restaurants options include Tootsie's Famous Orchid Lounge, Jimmy Buffet Margaritaville, Buffalo Wild Wings, Dave & Buster's, The Back Porch Seafood House, among many other shops and restaurants. It is only a few miles to outlet shopping in Destin and Seaside.

9 foot ceiling throughout, granite counter tops in the bathrooms and kitchen, all major and small appliances, and full size washer and dryer a walk-in closet in the master bedroom.

This Ocean Front Condo is approximately 1300 sq.ft. of living space. You will enjoy the beautiful sunsets off the large balcony. The living room and master bedroom overlook the Ocean and have private access.

The unit needs a thorough cleaning! The sliding balcony door was very hard to open from all the sand in the track. The floors have not been cleaned under the furniture in the living room, you could see the dust under the chairs. The master bathroom tub was slimy when first used which was nasty being in who knows what made it that way. You also can't flush the toilet without the pipes making a loud screeching noise. Talk about annoying in the middle of the night! The stove is filthy, a good cleaner and razor scraper would get all the gunk off the glass stovetop. The air vent in the kitchen on the ceiling was moldy, which I immediately reported to maintenance but nothing was done about it. The guest bathroom door handle was broken, you couldn't get in the bathroom except through the bedroom which made it awkward. I reported this to maintenance and they did replace the handle. The front bedroom with bunkbeds was hot and had no closet. We changed the air filter and the air flow was much better! The filter that was in there was nasty. The trim around the entrance door is coming off, again simple routine maintenance. The dresser drawers, in every room, are off the track and fall out if your not careful. Overall, the owners should be ashamed for not inspecting the work being done by the property management company. The location is perfect, we love being higher up to watch the sea life. I will stay at Calypso again but never this unit.

The 2 King Size beds the Set of Full Size Bunk Beds with a twin pull out and Queen Sofa Sleeper were all very comfortable. We loved the 2 Sets of Free Beach Chairs and beach service that saved us about $750 because we always rent them when we come to PCB. We recommend this condo and ECDI the property manager was very responsive to our emails and we will be back!

October Stay

Location is great--we loved being on the 15th floor. Balcony was great size but could use another side table if more than 4 people. Living room furniture looked newer and was very comfortable. Kitchen has most items necessary for the stay. Beds were comfortable although they squeaked when getting in and out. 2nd bathroom needs fixed--toilet is off the base so rocks back and forth; sink faucet sprays rather than streams. Condo could use a good deep clean. Overall stay was great and we loved the area!

Awful Unit

This unit is not taken care of by the owner or property management as well as it should be. Front door needs replaced. We felt unsafe and used the door chain. Bedrooms both had a tv but no working remotes and I needed to request a remote as I wanted to make sure I wasn’t charged the $75 fee for a remote missing. Unit smelled clean upon arrival Unit was very dusty. Lamp shades had dust bunnies on them. Centerpieces had dust on them. Cieling vents had dust caked on ceiling. Patio door in living room is very hard to open. Husband had a hard time opening too. We used the main bedroom patio door. Refrigerator bin is cracked and shelf not secure. Ran the dishwasher 3 times only for the same load only to figure out that no water runs into the dishwasher! I had to do a weeks worth of dishes by hand on vacation. I don’t even wash my own dishes at home by hand, I use my working dishwasher. Both mattresses were hard and squeak plus back hurt. Called maintenance about the second bathroom toilet. Each time you sat on it, it would actually move and be loud. Maintenance came up and tightened the screws. That didn’t help at all. This unit needs an overhaul. Needs painted, new trim, new toilet and shower/tub (mold) caulking. Closet door handles are missing. Holes in doors in bathroom. Kitchen cabinets need handles. Needs new appliances that work properly. Ice maker gets clogged too. The only positive is the location to the beautiful beach and Pier Park. Not worth the money!

Reviewer Comments: The first thing you will see is a front door that looks like it was broken into. Door jam and frame has big gaps and wood screws holding it together.Then you will notice all the daylight coming from under the door. The 2 rooms by the door stay HOT! All that air sucking in keeps them that way. The temp in the place never got below 73. AC dude came on day 4, removed 2 gallons of muck from water filter in unit. Helped 1 degree. Dishwasher is circa 1990s you just gotta turn dial until it finally starts. My wife could hardly open back glass door to deck. Maybe a little lube would work. Pots and pans are dollar store cheap. Forget trying to cook a nice meal. Place still has a VCR, really? Took 3 weeks to get my parking passes straight and many emails and calls. The HOA said that particular management company was known for that. The in-laws unit 701 was luxury compared to this. Place was dusty and floor always sticky from the hot air coming in front front door. That place needs a HUGE makeover for that kind of money to rent.

Reviewer Comments: The condo has a very musty smell that we believe is because none of fans in the bathrooms work so it's hard to get that wet towel smell out. The main living areas and kitchen were nice; the bed and baths a bit dated. At the price point I expected nicer bedding and towels. The washers spin cycle doesn't work which is hard when washing my own beach towels daily. Had to run thru multiple cycles to dry. Location was super convenient. Beach and beach service stellar.

Coming into the unit we realized that the front door didn’t seal properly and little bugs were able to come in. The unit itself seemed picked up and tidy aside from hair found in multiple locations.. the shower, the floor and the washing machine. ALL of the kitchen cabinet doors are sticky and need to be thoroughly cleaned. All of this aside the main issue was the washing machine did not work the entire time we were there. Clean towels are a necessity on a beach vacation. I reached out to management on our first Monday and was informed they were out of the office 2 days later. I sent an email every day with very limited communication. I also reached out to management to try and make this right before I filled out a review and still no contact. We have stayed at the Calypso and this was by far the worst unit we have rented.

Nice Spring Break

The condo was just like it said. A couple of things I would add is a new mattress in the master bedroom. We actually bought a topper for it because it wasnt very good. Also maybe buy cooking stuff. We cook breakfest and no cooking sheets to bake on. We would more than likely stay again because overall it was big and nice with enough room for what we needed.

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Very clean and just as advertised it had all new Living and Dining Room Furniture and the beds were very comfortable. Best location on the beach across from Pier Park dining and shopping. We did not start our car the entire time we were here.
