Property sits of Ave 52 & Vacasa a disappointment
One star because the owners were very responsive and involved. However, I had committed to three months and nothing could be done about the traffic noise. Avenue 52 is a main thoroughfare for farmers, builders, cement trucks, and every other vehicle starting about 4:00 a.m. After a week it was evident there was not a big break (weekday vs. weekend). Sitting outside was comfortable with earbuds. Having a conversation? Not easy.
I asked Vacasa if there was any way they could work on shortening my stay, and it was a solid âNOâ (almost before I finished asking). I tried again with another contact (based on the noise and all the problems w/Vacasa*) and he offered a 10% off for my next stay through Vacasa. No thanks.
*Other issues with Vacasa -
When I checked in, the house had not been cleaned well and they had to come back and clean appropriately (I had to vacate for a number of hours). There was about two weeks with of garbage in the can. There was some sort of plastic mattress pad on the main bed (which I was able to find the appropriate and changed it myself). The main bedroom carpet was so soiled that I ended up cleaning it myself vs. having to vacate the property again. The most disturbing Vacasa issue was an employee coming into my rental after I had specifically asked for the delivery (of ant traps) to be left at the front door. Thank goodness I was not in the shower.
The fact that Vacasa had presented the property as âready to occupyâ, and an employee came into an occupied property, there is an issue with management and judgement.
I could not handle the noise any longer and ended up leasing another home about 7 weeks before my term was up (no refund). Two friends were going to stay the last few days, and my concerns were confirmed as they stayed one night only.
