We had our annual girls trip at this property and found the views wonderful. The home has multiple spaces for people to gather and hang out and the kitchen was well stocked with essential cooking items. We all loved the hot tub over looking the lake and would definitely visit again!

The property was absolute amazing!! Easy communication, check in process. The home was fully stocked with everything you need and then some except the food. Beautiful views of the sunset from the tower, huge back atrium wall, or the easy access beach. Kayaks worked out great for some lake time. The hot tub was clean and hot sitting right next the lake for the views and sounds!

This cozy home was ideal for our multi-generational reunion. Comfortable sleeping for six adults. Three bathrooms no lines (ha!). Well-appointed kitchen for all the chefs in our bunch, so we never ate out (but did bring home divine ribs from Sloppy Hog food truck in Sturgeon Bay). Enjoyed exquisite sunsets, majestic pelican flocks, and relaxed vibes. This charming home has so many delightful nooks and crannies. We could all gather in the main living room or peel off into different levels for movies, board games, reading, yoga, even “work” if need be (great WiFi).

Quiet beautiful location and amazing hosts. They made sure everything was to our liking and always available during out stay. Particularly appreciated the kayaks and paddleboad and amazing view of the bay - gorogeous at sunset. The house had more than enough room for 6 of us and there were spaces we didn't even use :)

We had a wonderful stay at Hammarstrom house. The location is perfect and the house was very fun to explore for my kids. The owners are super nice and the most responsive owners we have rented from. Thanks for a great stay!

Perfect winter retreat

The house and the host were very welcoming and accommodating to our whole family, including kids and dog. The fireplace and great room were a perfect setting for our family meals and game night. Can't thank Steven enough for warm welcome and great time!

Wow! What a great place

First night we were able to catch amazing photos of the Northern Lights over the lake thanks to a solar storm! Hot tub was amazing. Views were amazing! John and Steven made sure we had everything we needed for an awesome stay.

The property had a great location right on the bay, the sunsets were amazing. Loved the kayaks and paddle boards which were used frequently. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed, Steven and John even had a complimentary welcome basket of snacks.We had 9 in our group and there was plenty of room to sleep.Check in and check out were a breeze and Steven was available to answer any questions we had.

The hosts are very responsive and super polite. The house is in OK condition but outdated, which becomes even more evident in person. The carpets can use a wash, the same is true for the couches. The walls need a fresh paint and some of the mattresses need to be replaced as they are pretty uncomfortable.

We are sad to hear that you didn't have an exceptional stay at Hammarstrom House. I know we were in contact a lot during your stay, particularly late on New Years Eve when you asked for a late checkout the next morning, and we were back and forth with our cleaner trying see if that was a possibility. We wish you would have addressed some of your concerns then. This is much more than a business for us. We care deeply about our guests' experiences and people creating special memories in a home that we truly love. We will be refreshing the property in the spring, as we do every year. We reached out privately looking for specifics, but have not heard back, and we want to make sure anything that may be a concern is addressed. It's unfortunate because no other guests have made similar comments.

First and hopefully not our last trip to Sturgeon Bay

This experience and property was beyond compare to any other stay for our family. We felt more than “at home”. We felt comfortably pampered and had all we needed to enjoy activities on the water or nearby golf courses and then relax back at home with all the amenities, plus room for everyone (including a dog) to be comfortable.

Perfect Stay

Steven and John’s house was everything and more. The cabin itself is beautiful and incredibly cozy, with so many thoughtful touches left out for us by our hosts. Waking up to the sounds of the lake and ending each night by the wood fireplace made for the perfect winter escape. I would highly recommend the Hammarstrom House to everyone.

Door County Winter at its best

Great location. Ability to have indoor and outdoor fires in the Wisconsin winter was so nice. The iced over bay was a dramatic backdrop to celebrating the New Year. The kids loved the tower, really got their imaginations going. :) Thanks for a great stay.
