• Inside, you'll find a clean, fun, and budget-friendly rental space that we've put a lot of care into.
• Please Note: This community was constructed in the 1970s and has a more dated exterior. There are exterior limitations of the property that are beyond our control.
• We understand this rental may not be the perfect fit for every traveler, and that’s why we aim to be transparent; so, you can feel confident and comfortable with your choice to stay here.
While you're not beachfront (note we are approximately 3/4 mile driving distance from public beach access at June Decker Park) & there isn't a fantastic view, the exceptional proximity to everything "Destin" can't be beat! We understand that our home may not be a good fit for everyone, we go above and beyond for our guest satisfaction!

At "Captain's Quarters" we’ve created a space that once you arrive, you’ll leave all your worries at the door. Our desire is to have guests relishing in the fine design, custom touches, and tranquil vibes for their Destin experience.
Our rare layout of two bedrooms & two attached full bathrooms leaves plenty of room for your entire group to enjoy. We can accommodate up to 8 guests in our cozy setting. You'll be impressed with the level of detail that has gone into the decor here, with custom touches from floor to ceiling!
Our second floor condo offers a stairway entrance to the breezeway (sorry, no elevator access) which is open air, not a stuffy hotel or mega-complex feel. Guests can enjoy no upstairs neighbors for a relatively quiet stay! For ease of access, guests are provided with keyless entry code the day of arrival-no need to fumble with keys. Parking is a breeze as well, with many spots directly in front of our building. There is also an outdoor
activity area for recreation with picnic table / grill adjacent to your building in clear view off your balcony.
Upon arrival, you'll enter directly into the living room area that will have you kicking back in no time at all on our comfy sectional, with an open layout that everyone can enjoy together. From our rustic wood ceiling, to the back wall full of windows, guests can enjoy a comfortable "sail away with me" feel that we've created. We've added a large SmartTv on the "gator skin" wall, right above an electric fireplace for those "rare" chilly Florida nights. Enjoy a few board games for evenings in, or just to entertain the kids! Guests that are working or schooling in their home away from home can setup at the desk in the living area, a highly sought after amenity for many travelers. A small balcony with light seating right off the living space is a great space to begin the day with a cup of Joe, or wind down with an adult beverage!
Our open concept kitchen is unlike any others in the complex. We've built out the custom counter space to create a spacious breakfast bar with comfortable seating for 4. Additional seating is found at the dining table for 4. We offer a full suite of stainless appliances, a Hamilton Beach Flex Brew coffee maker (regular drip & Keurig), dishes, bakeware, silverware, cutlery, blender, toaster, teapot, and more! The cook in your group will surely be pleased to spend mealtime here!
For our tiny travelers, we have plastic bowls, plates, silverware, cups, a pack and play, and a small high chair. These items are always at the condo, so no need to request them or rent them elsewhere.
The first bedroom, closest to the entrance, offers a custom built in bunk bed with queen over queen bunks & additional twin fold out memory foam mattresses. Guests will find this space to be accommodating for both adults & children alike. There is adequate room for luggage storage, and clothing storage available in the wardrobe in the corner of the room. A smartTv is mounted here.
This bedroom has a private bathroom attached that includes a toilet, sink, a large stand up shower with a small seat & large showerhead.
The second bedroom is truly the "Captain's Quarters" with a plush King bed, wardrobe in the corner, and a large SmartTv. The attached en-suite bathroom has a custom tile walk-in shower complete with multiple shower heads, toilet, and large granite top vanity with a vessel sink.
A full sized washer and dryer is conveniently located in unit, directly off the living/dining area.
Guest Access:
• You’ll receive keyless entry instructions at 4PM CST on the day of your arrival for a smooth, hassle-free check-in.
• Please note this unit is in a shared building, not a standalone home.
• Community amenities, such as the pool and other shared spaces, are available for all guests and residents to enjoy.
The Neighborhood:
• Gulf Terrace Condominiums are located in the heart of Destin, just minutes away from a variety of dining, shopping, and local hotspots.
• You’ll be less than a mile from June White Decker public beach access, Big Kahuna’s Water Park, and The Track Family Fun Parks, making it easy to enjoy all the area has to offer!
• Our complex offers the convenience of two entrances! The main entrance takes you directly onto Destin’s main highway, while the side entrance lets you exit onto a side street with a stoplight, perfect for avoiding traffic when the town gets busy.
Getting Around:
• During busy times it can be easier to take an Uber, Lyft, or taxi to avoid dealing with traffic and parking. The town is fairly easy to navigate, as most everything to do is directly off the main road through in either direction!
Other Things to Note:
• This is a second-floor unit accessed by stairs only, with no elevator. You may occasionally hear noise from neighboring units or common areas, which is outside of our control. Please note this unit is part of a shared building, not a stand-alone home.
• Linens and beach towels are provided. A courtesy supply of essentials (toilet paper, paper towels, soap, trash bag, dish and laundry detergent) is included. For longer stays or larger groups, please bring any additional supplies you may need.
• Please note that beach equipment and beach supplies are not provided.
• Trailer, RV, box truck, or watercraft parking is not permitted in the complex. HOA towing fees apply for any violations.
• As this is a residential complex, a 10PM noise ordinance is in effect. Excessive noise, parties, illegal activity, or disturbances are not permitted at any time.
• All stays with house-trained pets must be disclosed at booking, as a $50 pet fee applies. We allow a maximum of 2 dogs. Pets must be crated when unattended, and owners are responsible for cleaning up after them indoors and outdoors. Pets are not allowed on furniture.
• ADA-recognized service animals are exempt from the pet fee, but Emotional Support Animals (ESAs) are not. Please note that providing false information about a service animal is against state law, so we appreciate your honesty.
• While this condo isn’t directly on the beach and the beach is not visible from the unit, public beach access is just a short ¾-mile drive away. We do not have a gated or private beach access at this location.
• This is a mixed community with both full-time residents and short-term guests. Building exteriors are being updated gradually, which is outside our control, but we’ve created a cozy, comfortable space inside for your stay.
