Welcome to Wayland Beach Cottage, a relaxed beach retreat with your own private hot tub and separate game room. Unwind under the pergola, soak year-round in the 6-person hot tub, or enjoy movie nights and friendly competition around the full-size 8-foot pool table in your own entertainment space. With a fully fenced yard, smart TVs throughout, fast Wi-Fi, a long private driveway, and easy access to beaches and dining, it’s the perfect getaway for families and friends.

We welcome up to 2 house-trained, well-behaved dogs. The $50 pet fee should be added and paid at booking.

The space
Three comfortable bedrooms, each with a queen bed and wall-mounted smart TV, perfect for winding down after the beach or a full day of fun

Dining table seats six comfortably and doubles as a great spot for family meals, board games, or game nights

The main living space features a 65” smart TV and two cozy sofas, ideal for movie nights and family time

Modern kitchen with quartz countertops and full appliances including pots & pans, Keurig Duo (K-cups + drip), blender, toaster oven, and cooking utensils

The half bath off the kitchen also functions as a full laundry room with washer/dryer, Dyson vacuum, iron and board

The backyard is fully fenced and designed for relaxation. Comfortable seating under the pergola, and a 4-burner gas grill + grilling tools. It’s the perfect place for morning coffee, evening soaks, or winding down after a beach day

The hot tub is available year-round, and set to 100 farenheit (but temp is adjustable). It has 5 standard seats + 1 lounge seat

*new* Game Room! A detached entertainment space where you can enjoy an 85" TV, full-size 8' Olhausen slate pool table, and lounge seating. It's a great space for kids during the day and adults in the evening

Level 2 EV charger available in the driveway (40-amp NACS). J1772 adapter available too

The property was well stocked. It had everything you would need and then some. They really put some extra effort into making it cozy and anticipating what you may need which I appreciated. Everything worked fine except main bathroom sink drains slow. Our opinion is that the bed in the bedroom off the kitchen is not comfortable .We didnt sleep in the others so cannot say about those. Off street parking with a driveway was great to have. The backyard is very small and backs up to an apartment complex/ parking lot but it’s well fenced and we didnt have any issues with that but just something to note. We did not use the hot tub so not sure how that is. The house is pretty small which was fine for us with just two people and two small dogs.

Great spot! The house, especially the kitchen, was so well stocked. Loved how the kitchen was labeled so everything was so easy to find. The rooms even had chargers in them. Lots of little touches that just made it extra easy! We were in town visiting family so the hot tub was a perfect way to unwind after a long day! Will definitely stay again next time in Norfolk!

I chose this property for our visit to Norfolk because they are pet friendly and it was large enough for 5 adults. Three bedrooms with large enough beds for adults and a fenced in backyard. Well, it exceeded my expectations. I have never rented a VRBO that was more stocked than this one. They literally had everything my home has. Not cheap products but quality soaps and detergents, even treats for the dogs. They have thought of every amenity that might be needed. Each room has an extra blanket and floor length fan. The house was clean. The yard was perfect to let the dogs out without worrying they would escape. It has a nice fence that goes to the ground. Perfect outdoor seating. The game room is amazing. The house is close to everything but feels private with the fenced in backyard. The area was safe. We walked the block daily. The hosts are super responsive and reasonable. The price was great for what we got. I cannot recommend them enough. My choice was limited to pet friendly places and in my opinion this house is perfect whether you have pets or small children the backyard makes it perfect to let them play while the family relaxes outside or in the game room. Perfect in every way.

Super Clean and great location

This house was a great visit! A good location, but also very clean! Nicely decorated and a fenced in backyard that was great for our dog.. lots of extras at the house for convenience like Games , a grill and even dog bowls. We will definitely visit again.

Home cooked meals!

Great kitchen - we came to visit our son who is stationed here. Home cooked meals and pies all week for him and a few of his friends. Close to everything and the base. Woild stay here again for sure.

This was the second time we stayed here. The cottage is cute, clean and very welcoming. Perfect place if you have a pet, fenced in backyard with treats available 😃Communication with the host was easy and fast. Great location for us, plenty of sidewalks to walk and a park close by.

Very nice small house

A pleasant house for our family. Quiet neighborhood located close to everything we needed. Fenced backyard with a pergola was perfect for everyone, enjoyed especially by their small dog. We enjoyed playing cornhole. Lighting was very good. It was obvious that remodeling was well planned with attention to detail.

Exceptionally clean, comfortable, quiet

My family (three humans and two dogs) spent a very comfortable week here. The owners have thought of every little detail, and so we felt that we could find everything we needed. When little questions came up, they were very quick to respond via email. The house is located on a nondescript quiet residential street, and is just a few minutes from one of the nicest beaches I've ever been to. We would definitely return!

Quaint home in perfect location

We had a wonderful stay in this home. It is beautifully furnished and the owners provide all of the necessities. The back yard was absolutely perfect for our dogs who enjoyed running around without having to be leashed. We also enjoyed sitting out there in the evenings. The location is great for access to Norfolk and Virginia Beach. There is also a public beach about a mile away from the property. Emily the owner was incredible to work with and I highly recommend this property.

Graduation getaway

In town for son’s graduation. Well appointed home. Cozy and clean. Quiet neighborhood. Each bedroom had a three prong charger for various devices- nice touch. Close to bay beaches north of downtown Norfolk. Convenient to Virginia Beach and surroundings. Highly recommend. Host was very helpful prior to and during stay. Great place to stay with my adult kids coming in for graduation.

Such a lovely place. The bed sheets were soooo soft. I am definitely OCD because I looked at the glasses and silverware and it was spotless. I need quiet at night and it was literally perfect. Little touches like labeling everything, water in the fridge and small snacks are so very important. Truly loved the house, make your reservation now.
