THE SPACE
Built in 1848, this log cabin retreat offers a wooded mountain experience like no other. Located at the foot of Grandfather Mountain, come escape from the stresses of everyday busyness and live your best life from the comforts of this historic log cabin! There's a great cellphone signal here but this is an opportunity to put down the phones and embrace some time with Mother Nature!
★ OUTDOOR SPACE ★
Welcome to a full acre of blissful mountain retreat! There's so much to do here – from yard games on our "cookie-sheet flat" land (a rarity in these mountains) to relaxing by the firepit to fishing at the trout farm, the opportunities are endless and we hope you make the most out of your time here!
✔ Large grassy area for yard games & wooded area for exploring
✔ Grill, picnic table, fire pit, and outdoor chairs
✔ River located at the back of the property
✔ Guaranteed-catch trout farm next to the property (occasionally, you may smell the fish!)
★ LIVING ROOM ★

With an undeniable cozy 'log cabin feel', there's plenty of room for everyone, whether you're here to catch up with old friends, watch your favorite shows together, or challenge each other to some friendly board games.

✔ Television and Internet
✔ Open-concept living with natural lighting
✔ Fireplace and mountain-themed décor
★ KITCHEN AND DINING ★
The kitchen is the heart of the home, but you're the heart of the kitchen! This functional kitchen is fully equipped for all your cooking needs. From a wide variety of pots & pans to the all-important coffee machine, we've got you covered so you can focus on enjoying the fresh mountain air!
✔ Fully equipped kitchen for all your cooking needs

✔ 2 bedrooms with king-sized beds
✔ Day bed for additional sleeping space
✔ Full bathroom on the upper floor with Jacuzzi Tub; half bathroom on the main floor
✔ Laundry is available on the upper floor
✔ Complimentary basic toiletries included
★ OTHER THINGS TO NOTE ★
Please note that this log cabin is 170-years-old. It's been well-cared for and offers plenty of cozy charm but does have characteristics of a historic home such as bumpy flooring, uneven stairs, and the occasional draft if it's cold and windy outside. In the winter the house is heated by the gas fireplace and electric space heaters so this may not be the best fit for guests who have balance issues or unsupervised children. In addition, we are located in the woods, the property is treated but there is a good chance you might see a bug or two in the warmer seasons!

Guests can find this property easily off the main road. The lot is flat so even in the winter time, there should be no problems accessing the property.
You will have access to this entire property including all amenities with the exception of a tiny house that’s located 35 yards to the left of the cabin. This is rented out separately so there’s a chance you may bump into some of our other guests but don’t worry, there’s plenty of space for everyone! If you’d like to rent out this second space to accommodate larger groups, let us know.
