Annual vacation to OIB

The house suited our family perfectly. Was a little disappointed that the deck couldn't accomodate more chairs/ people. It was wonderful that sheets and towels were provided, thank you! The kitchen was fully stocked and very nice. We were told that we'd get a text if early check in was available. Some of us arrived at the house around 3:00 but didnt check the door. I arrived at 3:45, checked the door and the key code worked. It would have been nice if we would have been notified that we could get in early. Thank you for being a pet friendly house. Our dog, Owen, absolutely loves the ocean and being close to the point made for some wonderful walks and beautiful sunrises.

Repeaters ....

New kitchen! Yay. Our gourp has stayed at this house twice a year for the past 3 years. We tend to stay in rather than gad about the area so the discovery of at new kitchen was fantastic. Thanks owners... Now maybe you can deal with the living room seating, it's dirty and worn and pretty uncomfortable cause it's so soft.

Is there a perfect beach house location? Yes this is it

The location of this property is amazing. A short walk to the beach, the best views off the deck. The house is aged but the location mores than compensates. If you are going to the beach to enjoy the beach this is the place for you.

Best location on Ocean Isle

This is our third visit staying at Summer Sands and we love it! At the beach, it is location first and foremost for us and you can’t get any closer than with this house. It is literally on the beach. The unit is clean, the washer and dryer is great, plenty of parking and the deck off the dining area is our favorite spot to people watch, dolphin watch or just to sit and relax. It’s an older home with not the latest and greatest gadgets or kitchen appliances but it’s functional and we love it. Again, the location is unbeatable

Love this location

The house is in a terrific spot. None of the interior living room furnishings have been updated in years - they are "soft" so you sink into them. Beds are great, kitchen has plenty of stuff. Really is the location and two porches overlooking the beach that says it all.

GREAT Location!!!

You couldn't get any closer to the beach if you tried! WONDERFUL location. I enjoyed watching the waves as I laid in bed! Vacasa personnel were very friendly and helpful. The house feels like grandma's house with it's well worn furniture but it was exactly what my family wanted. Did I mention the location to the beach??!! If you are looking for a high class modern & sleek home, this is not for you. But if you just want a great place to kick back with your family and friends and enjoy the beach, this is what you want!

Great location

Lovely location but very outdated home.

This house was the ideal location. Literally right on the beach. We could be on the deck and let our kids play in the sand. The house however, was very outdated and we had definite concerns as there was mold in the bathrooms and the front door had rust all over which was a hazard for everyone, especially our small kids. Again, perfect location but the home needs many improvements to say the least.

Great Location!

The location is tremendous. House was comfortably lived in / family comfort. As others have mentioned, living area furniture is older and not super comfortable. Understandable given the location and situation :-) However the beds were great and the abundance of towels greatly appreciated. We've already booked another stay.

Location and cockroaches

The location can’t be beat. Right on the beach. The rooms were spacious for our group. The house is in need of some TLC. The fans and vents/returns are coated in layers of dust and all bathrooms had mold. The sheets were also dirty is some rooms. The worst of it was the cockroaches and beetles in the home. We were all afraid to bring home an infestation. Unfortunately Vacasa was not helpful with this matter. Dissapointed but the proximity to the beach helped. We just did a lot of cleaning.

The good is the view and proximity to the ocean, but...

The bad is that when we arrived there were three people cleaning and one dude with no shirt drinking a beer, plus they finished an hour and a half late. Hardly what one would consider "professional". There were only fitted sheets in one room, one of which was soiled with evidently blood stains. The AC system isn't functioning correctly, one of the condensate lines outside was vigorously flowing, the other one never dripped, which would indicate that the unit wasn't functioning. Instead of fixing the issue there are two portable AC units on the first floor. As previously noted by earlier guests the filters were dirty, which perhaps is one source of the issue and certainly not conducive to a sanitary environment. Upon our arrival, called the 800 number concerning these issues as well as spoke to the supervisor of the cleaners, both assured me that "Bella" would call me "shortly" to date I have not received any return calls or follow up. By the end of the week 8 out of our party of 10 came down with upper respiratory issues. Upon our return home three took covid test (the results negative) at urgent care facilities. Not saying that the faulty AC system was the cause, however it is surely suspect. The location and the layout of the property is super, the maintenance and customer service awful.

Perfect Family Getaway

We just had our family vacation. Normally we go to North Myrtle, but wanted somewhere to take the fur babies this year. This place is not steps from the beach but on the beach and only a 5 to 10 min ride to shops and restaurants. Which is a very big plus because when you work alot you basically in your car and when on vacation I don't go anywhere for a couple of days...DOORDASH. The house was very clean, the beds clean and comfortable. It big enough that we weren't in each other's way, with 5 bedrooms, a living room, sunroom and porch off the kitchen facing the ocean, we could spread out. We normally bring games and books, but they already had loads of games and a bookshelf upstairs full of different titles and authors. The kitchen was stocked with any type of cooking gadget, pots and pans that we needed. Even coffee in the cabinet for the coffee pot (Big THANKS for that by the way, I forgot to pack mine). My only problem was the only TVs in the house was 2 upstairs bedrooms, the living room and sunroom. Need TVs in all bedrooms and living room for us that need to unwind before falling asleep. But will definitely be booking this one again.

Best View!

Absolute best view on the beach. This is an older home and could use a few updates, we knew this going in so didn’t bother us. Air filters need to be replaced and vents were a bit dusty. Plenty of space and all appliances worked great.
