Chalet Living at the Beach
The property was just as depicted. It was appointed with eclectic high end furnishings that all worked together to give one the sense that life here could be laid back and tranquil. The entire neighborhood was well cared for and very secure.
If you wanted to just hang out at the beach, take long walks, explore the various near by parks or venture into New Haven for art galleries, the museum or other venues offered by Yale University it was an easy trip.
If you chose to explore Westbrook, Clinton, Old Saybrook and towns within a fifteen mile radius you would find places and treasures to satisfy both old and young.
If I would suggest any changes to this rental it would be to provide a bench or chair in each bedroom to sit and put on/ take off footwear.
The two upper level bathrooms are small and the comodes a bit small and low. The lower level bath/ laundry is roomy but the level has no heat control and the bedroom was cramped and too cool for comfort. The decks offered spectactular sunrises and water views.
For us the lighting was too subdued and the stairs gave us a cardio workout. In all it was a great rental and we would heartily recommend it. Tom, our host was timely in his response and really did care about the comfort of his guests. Not too fond of the surprising 'service fee' imposed by VRBO. One would think the host had paid a substantial fee to VRBO for booking and communication ,which Tom had, and the guests should not be required to boost the bottom line for VRBO. All in all it was a great rental.
