The Space:

Beach Grass is a breezy little hideaway in the heart of South Haven - Tailor-made for small families or close-knit groups who want to slow down, kick off their shoes, and let summer unfold at its own pace. From the moment you arrive, the creaky vintage floors, charming built-ins, and soft afternoon light create the feeling of an old-school vacation - Like the ones you remember from childhood, only with better coffee and a much bigger backyard.



Start your mornings slowly in the living room, where sunlight pours through tall windows and the furniture practically insists you sink in and stay awhile. It’s the kind of space where someone’s always curled up with a book from Hello Books, where board games take over the coffee table, and where post-beach naps turn into full-blown snoozes. As the sun sets, the golden glow turns the room into a backdrop for laughter, card games, and second helpings of dessert from Golden Brown Bakery.



Just around the corner, the kitchen invites you to gather without any fuss. With its center island and easy, open layout, it’s where the day begins - Pajamas, waffles, and sleepy-eyed plans for the beach. Later, it becomes the landing zone for sandwiches packed for Kids Corner Park, or maybe a bottle of rosé and fresh snacks from the South Haven Farmers Market. It’s casual, unfussy, and made for real living - Stirring, snacking, and spontaneous chats.



When you’re ready to wind down, the bedrooms offer a quiet exhale. The king room feels like a gentle retreat, where you can stretch out, breathe deep, and fall asleep to the rhythm of lake breezes and chirping crickets. The second bedroom is a bunk room tailor-made for kids - Or kids at heart - With cozy bedding and just enough space for whispered stories long after lights out. Both rooms are filled with soft linens, warm lighting, and the kind of quiet you didn’t realize you were missing.

Beach Grass is perfectly positioned just a short and scenic stroll to downtown South Haven, where tree-lined streets are dotted with local gems. Start your day with a handcrafted latte from Taste, grab lunch at Phoenix Street Café, and cap it off with a lakeview dinner at The Idler Riverboat. Sweet tooth? Swing by Sherman’s Dairy Bar for a scoop (or two) of their legendary ice cream. You’ll also find plenty of local shops like Crescent Moon and Props offering home goods, books, gifts, and the kind of treasures you never knew you needed.



Adventurers can rent kayaks or paddleboards and drift along the Black River, hop aboard a sunset cruise, or explore the historic South Haven Lighthouse. Families will love the Michigan Maritime Museum - Home of the Friends Good Will tall ship - And the seasonal events that fill the town calendar, from Harborfest and Art Fairs to farmers markets and free concerts in the park.



Everything is within walking or biking distance from Beach Grass. Once you park your car, you may not need it again for the rest of the trip. That’s part of the magic here: everything you need is close by, and everything you don’t can wait.

This home is located in our breath-taking South Side Neighborhoods in South Haven. A peaceful, quiet community filled with people who all share one thing in common: A love for the beach and our home right off of Lake Michigan. The best part about staying in this area is that you're located in a quiet setting that's easily walkable to access some of the towns best features - The shops of downtown, views overlooking the lake, the countless beaches, and endless outdoor activities.

Parking: Driveway parking is available for up to 2 vehicles

Pets: Pets are not allowed at this property

Beach Access: Blue Stairs Beach access is only 3 blocks away

We're available in person Monday to Friday, 9:00 am to 4:00 pm, to assist guests in planning their South Haven vacation and providing insider tips for an authentic local experience.

We provide an after-hours emergency phone number in case an issue arises outside of our standard business hours. Additionally, we provide you with a mobile SMS number that you can text for non-emergency issues.
