The Durant Station Condominiums offer spectacular ocean views and private oceanfront decks. Elevator service to all levels makes this property a convenient choice for all ages: there's no need to haul luggage or groceries up long flights of stairs.

You'll be just a few steps from the ocean via a private wooden walkway. Durant Station also offers a host of amenities, including one of Hatteras Island's largest pools with an adjacent hot tub. The Durant Station Community Center is crowned by the original historic Durant Lifesaving Station tower, a rich piece of Hatteras Island's past. The Community Center is ideal for relaxing with friends, conducting meetings, attending wedding parties and receptions, or simply enjoying the lounge areas which offer a 50-inch plasma TV, a pool table, a gas fireplace, and a complete kitchen on the upper level.

This first-floor, corner condo features a large wraparound sundeck, ocean and sound views, and a position just 20 feet from the community laundry facilities. You'll have four TVs, a VCR, four DVD players, a stereo/CD player, satellite HDTV with DVR, and free high-speed WiFi. Enjoy central air conditioning, solid-surface countertops in the kitchen, a storage area for beach items on the parking level, and a fish-cleaning station and grilling areas on the grounds.

This home has access to a community pool, the community pools in our area are typically open from Memorial Day to Labor Day. Community pools are operated at the discretion of the community HOA so the availability schedule may be subject to change without notice.

2025 Family Vacation

Had a great time, was perfect for us. Definitely need to bring additional containers for leftovers. However, plenty of silverware and all the necessities needed for cooking were available. All beds slept comfortably, enough room for everyone definitely would rebook. I’ve stayed here year after year.

cleanliness issues needs upgrade

The kitchen was lovely! everything was great in the kitchen! The living room could be great, but the furniture was awful: the couch is broken and the cushions on chairs need to be replaced! on the day of checkout, a cockroach appeared in the master bedroom, which totally freaked me out. I think it came right out of the bed, because it was while i was removing the sheets and tossing them to the floor, that the thing appeared. the other issue is the porch. It rained while we were there and the porch collects the water. We had to broom the water from the porch every time it rained, so that we could sit out there.

Great place

Spacious apartment. Maybe need some refresh but still really comfortable. Great view on te beach and ocean. Easy accessible in wheelchair, except bathrooms. Windows and terrasse a bit dirty. We really enjoyed our stay.

Great vacation spot

My family had a great time at blockade runner. The property was as listed but could use some updating(the baseboards need to be replaced and there was some water damage on the ceiling and walls) The location of property was convenient to the activities we wanted to do as well.

Don’t Rent this Unit

The location was only good thing. I wish I could share photos of the unit. Vacasa assured me this unit was updated and repaired. Not the case. It’s beyond run down, filthy and appliances are broken and they know it.

Blockade Runner

We enjoyed this condo location. Having an elevator was a necessity as my mom is 89 years old and can no longer climb stairs. The beds were comfortable and the furniture as well. The living room sofa and chair cushions needs replacing as it is worn. Overall everything was good. We would come back again.

Stay Away

The only thing we loved was the convenient walk way to the beach. Now, where to start. When we arrived no parking passes were found. We couldn't talk to anyone in the local Vacasa office. We tracked it down and ended up finding a blank pass and filling it out ourselves. Not what we wanted to be doing after driving 12 hours. I understand humidity makes mold hard to control, but come on. It's every where in this place. We kept shoes on the whole time because the floor is so disgusting. Everywhere you look is unacceptable. Porch furniture is falling apart. We brought our own chairs for the beach so we used them. The living room chairs are about to fall apart. The couch feels 100 years old. I'm sure I'm forgetting a few other things. I don't usually take time to write a review but this was to the point I had to. We should have read others bad reviews and stayed elsewhere. We won't be back.

Great location, but needs some work.

We loved the location of this condo. We could see the beach from the windows, and the short walk was easy. Unfortunately, as others have stated, the place needs work and a good clean. The floor is especially a problem as there are wide grout lines that catch everything and can’t be cleaned easily. The cleanliness of the bathrooms was also an issue. There are broken or missing chairs, the dishwasher works intermittently, and the front half is overly air conditioned while the back half is under air conditioned. Overall it’s in a great spot with good potential if it gets some attention.

Needs Updated

This condo could use some TLC. -bathroom tub clogged, no response when we emailed Vacasa twice. Husband fixed it with a screwdeiver and plunger. -beautiful corner deck but poor seating - a rickety bench and one high chair, one broken chair in corner with large nails sticking out that we nearly stepped on when it blew on balcony -broom broken in two pieces on broken chair on porch -large hole in mattress cover under top bunk -overhead lights in bedroom did not work -bathroom door did not latch in shared bathroom -furniture cushions appeard very dirty -one of two chairs was broken and tipped over if we sat in it -fridge / icemaker was very loud and noisy -large amounts of hair / dog hair in corners (it is a no pet condo) Pros - well stocked kitchen We have stayed in Durrant Station before in a much nicer unit. We initially gave Blockade Runner a good review, bit found all issues once we settled in.

No rest no Internet service

112 people let there children run and jump into late night hours so there was no sleeping. No Internet service from DS South and if it did connect it was extremely slow. Had to upgrade my mobile service after the forth request for Internet service.

Nice but needs maintenance

Lovely condo with enough beds for six to sleep comfortably. The place needs some fixing though. There were two broken chairs, my friend had to fix one of the sliding doors so we could open it, they were still difficult to open. There are several areas where the molding is damaged and could be repaired. Had plenty of dishes and cooking utensils, dish washer was a plus, but we only received one thing of dish detergent. There were no garbage bags or paper towels included. Only two dish towels. Would have liked some more of those. Plenty of other linens, nice place really, just looks like the owners don't come there very often.

111 a dirty unit, never renting this again.

This unit needs lot of work, not worthy of renting it out. All beds/mattress are sub standard, all ceiling fans were dirty, had to call maintenance to clean, few pieces of tacky wood rotted balcony furniture, Sofa inside is filthy dirty. This unit is not worth even if it’s free in this condition.
