We loved our family vacation (2 parents, 2 in-laws, 3 children aged 6 years, 3.5 years, and 7 months) to Rowden Cottage. We can't say enough good things about it. The host was easy to communicate with, the property was clean and well-stocked, and the lake was beautiful. Being 10 minutes from both Holland and Grand Haven was a plus. For runners, the path along Lakeshore Ave is mostly shaded when traveling north (at least, the first four miles toward Grand Haven). We would certainly consider returning again in a future year!

Perfect Week at the Beach

We had a perfect week at Rowden Cottage. The weather was delightful (a nice reprieve from the Texas heat!). The kitchen had everything we needed to eat “at home” and enjoy the view. The beach was beautiful and the view and sunsets were unimaginably breathtaking! Thank you for sharing your piece of paradise!

Perfect get away!

The house was clean and comfortable. We were able to easily cook and grill out, the house has every utensil, pot, pan and dish you could need. (Minimal plastic cups for kids -so maybe bring a few if you have littles under 5) You can’t beat having your own private beach. We immensely enjoyed our stay and hope to come back soon!

Relaxing Week

We had a great week at this property. The yard and beach were perfection. The interior was clean and fully functional. There were so many beautiful trees on the property that you did not miss air conditioning, even with the hot weather we had. All 4 bedrooms have two windows for cross breeze. We enjoyed our stay and all agreed that one week was not long enough.

Old House on Beautiful Private Beach

The location was great! We loved the beach and beautiful outside area. When we arrived the temperatures in the house were extremely warm due to a hot day and closed up house (no AC). After the first day, the temperatures outside and in were much better. The house was well equipped and very homey. The lack of a master bedroom was somewhat disappointing. The owner was very responsive and easy to work with. Overall, we enjoyed this property.

If our weather forecast includes rain or we are uncertain of guest arrival times we do close all windows as a precaution. Also, although we don't have a master bedroom, we have pictures of all bedrooms for prospective guests on VRBO. And thank you again for pointing out we have one of the most beautiful views and beaches along Lake Michigan! We hope you enjoyed the amazing sunsets, the breezes coming off the lake and the warm beautiful sandy beaches! Please come visit with us again!

One of the best places we stayed in Michigan

This beautiful house was one of the best places we stayed in Mivchigan. This old house is charming. Despite its age, it is very well kept and very clean. From every room downstairs you have sweeping views of Lake Michigan. Also the views from two of the upstairs bedrooms are amazing and you can hear the waves as you fall asleep. The. Decks are amazing (two of them) we enjoyed great sunsets! Finally, the beach! Better than any public beach around! For those that like biking , you can easily explore Grand Haven and Holland by bike from here. We would love to return to this beautiful house. The hosts were amazing and very accommodating.

Darling vintage lake home! Excellent beach! Clean and well appointed (furnishings in the cottage were all vintage, but it was very cute and comfortable). Proximity to Holland and Grand Haven was key. Family friendly. Great host communication.
