"Haus In Schwarz" or House in Black is a newly renovated and remodeled cottage home built for entertainment! This bohemian themed home is located just in between E Hwy St. and Friendship Lane as you enter Fredericksburg! A fantastic location if you're looking for a quick trip out to the plethora of Hill Country wineries, but also want to remain close to everything Main St. has to offer!

"Haus In Schwarz" is German for House in Black. Named after an art installation by Eric Sturm...our goal was to create a unique, open concept property that our guests could enjoy and entertain larger groups at while visiting Fredericksburg. Perfect for bachelorette party's or larger family gatherings!

There are 3 bedrooms inside the main house. Bedroom #1 and #2 are down the hallway next to the living room. Bedroom #1 has 1 Queen Bed and Bedroom #2 has 2 Queen Beds. The Master bedroom on the opposite side of the house has 1 King Bed.

You will have access to the entire home and lot including the back patio, pool, and hot tub. Additional parking is also available in the back. You just have to enter the back alley behind the house and open the gate. Only spots that will remain locked are the storage shed directly out back where we keep supplies. You will receive instructions on how to access the property upon booking! If you have any questions just let us know!

I am located in Austin, TX. However we have staff in town if any issues arise and an on-site presence is needed. Please reach out if you need anything.

By Car:
Downtown Fredericksburg is just a few minutes away by car, making it easy to access the town’s shops, restaurants, and attractions.
Texas Wine Country is a short drive from the neighborhood, with numerous wineries along the Highway 290 Wine Trail. Renting a car or booking a local wine tour is recommended for visiting multiple wineries in one day.
Outdoor attractions like Enchanted Rock State Natural Area are also easily accessible by car, about 25 minutes away. The scenic drives around Fredericksburg provide beautiful views of the Hill Country.

By Bike:
The relatively flat terrain and bike-friendly streets make cycling a great way to explore Fredericksburg. You can bike to Main Street in about 10 minutes.
Several bike rental shops are available downtown if you don't bring your own.

Walking:
Bluebonnet Street itself is in a quiet, walkable neighborhood. You can enjoy a leisurely stroll around the area and take in the charming residential atmosphere.
For those who enjoy walking, it’s possible to walk to some nearby attractions and dining options, although a car or bike is more practical for longer trips.

Public Transportation and Ridesharing:
Fredericksburg does not have a robust public transportation system, so ridesharing services like Uber and Lyft are popular for getting around town if you prefer not to drive.
Fredericksburg Trolley offers tours and transportation to some local attractions, providing an easy way to see the sights without worrying about parking.

Day Trips:
If you’re interested in exploring beyond Fredericksburg, Austin is about 1.5 hours away, and San Antonio is around a 1.5 to 2-hour drive, both making for great day trips.

Please note that the pool outside is a wading pool. Its lined partially with concrete in some area's, rocks, and water tarp. You should not expect this to look like a normal pool with a colored bottom. We have a cleaner and check the ph after each guest to make sure it is safe and comfortable to get in. But some algae growth, sand, etc. is to be expected.
The limit for street parking is 2 vehicles. Please make sure you are parked in front of the home and not in front of the neighbors!! For any additional vehicles there is parking in the back alley of the house. You can open the gate and pull in. Also, per the city ordinance - partying and/or loud noise is not permitted past 10pm
