Weekend Getaway in the Poconos

Nice relaxing spot. The interior was clean.There was a clerical mixup at the gate. The gate didn't have my information and I couldnt get a hold of the Owner for a couple hours.The downstairs needs some furniture, and the kitchen was a pinch under stocked with utensils.The exterior especially could use a good cleanup.Still a quiet peaceful neighborhood, and I slept better than I have in a long time.4/5

Perfect location for an outdoorsy vacation.

Hiking, Biking, and Kayaking all relatively close, with easy access to both Bushkill as well as at the Delaware Water Gap recreational area. Had to befriend a handful of spiders while here, but somewhat to be expected this close to the woods. Home was otherwise very clean and as expected.

Very enjoyable weekend

My family loved the house. It’s private with great view from a huge deck! The house is very clean with generous sized bedrooms with plenty of closet space for longer stay. The host responded to all my questions promptly and was very helpful. The fireplace was our favorite feature of the house, made the living room warm and cozy. We are definitely coming back!

Peaceful setting

We used this cabin to go hiking at bushkill falls and a few other trails in the area. The home is very warm , welcoming and clean .the back deck was beautiful.very happy we stayed here and would do it again when coming back to the area. The owner Eugene was quick to respond to any questions we had . thanks again Eugene

Nice place to stay for Pocono vacation

We enjoyed our stay at Eugene's home. He is an excellent host who responded to all our questions. The house is roomy and comfortable. My wife and I enjoyed watching movies upstairs in the TV room, while the kids played video games down stairs. We were close to Bushkill Falls and hiked in the Delaware Water Gap. We took advantage of the Mountain Top Pool.

Great quiet spot in the woods!

The exterior of the house could use a little attention, but the inside is clean and reasonably well stocked/furnished. The deck is probably the best part, and the host recently replaced most of the deck boards, so that’s nice. Lots of wildlife passes through at all times of day. The host was pretty quick to answer any questions we had, and generously allowed us to check in a few hours early since we were traveling from a distance. Overall a great weekend!!!!

Perfect location for Bushkill Falls & others

Overall, a decent place to stay. We came to hike as many falls trails as we could in the area and you couldn’t ask for a better location. I liked the gated community, it was beautiful. Eugene was very responsive which was nice. Even though towels are included, wash cloths are not, so if you use them, bring them with you. The kitchen was nice to have as we cooked all our dinners there and packed lunches for our day trips to the falls. Even though the backyard is private, it is not usable as it slopes pretty steep downhill into a wooded area. Another reviewer said her kids felt like they were in a treehouse and that’s so true. At night, we enjoyed watching DVD movies in the loft.

Awful experience don't rent this property!

After 4 hours of waiting when instructed how to turn on the heat, no heat went on. Called the host and was very rude and disrespectful including stating an elderly person with heart problems should not rent his property. Moldy smell. Overall the rental was dirty, does not reflect the pictures. Host refused any discussion of refund for we needed to leave the same night we arrived. We had trip insurance also. Just a horrible experience and surprised VRBO supports this.

Thank you for your feedback, however it’s a complete lie, and we cannot tolerate this disinformation. We escalated this with VRBO. You checked into our property and called us in the evening, 6 hours after you checked in , saying that your wife had a medical emergency, and wanted to cancel and get a full refund. VRBO has explained to you, that it was outside of the cancellation window, and denied the refund. After this, you started calling us, saying we had no heat in the house. And that was a first week of April, with thermostat set at 70. We explained that you can set the temperature all the way up to 80 for your convenience. As if this was not enough, you started calling us and threatening that “someone is going to call us” Completely unacceptable behavior, disregard for VRBO and property rules.

It has potential with more care

While the host was very pleasant, unfortunately, the house was not exactly what was advertised on the listing. The kitchen cabinets were stocked with utensils, pots, pans, plates, cups, seasonings, and hand soaps GALORE which were appreciated. Some changes were upgrades to certain rooms (adding/replacing furniture), but the rest made it very obvious that no one has been there in a while. For starters, the ceiling fan in the living room is missing a blade. There is a loose tile near the fireplace, as well as an empty fire extinguisher (even if it was full, it was an expired canister). Two of the three TVs with DVD players wouldn't play, and the fire stick on the TV in the living room wouldn't make it past the home page. The stairs were not completely clean, as you could see remaining fur from a long-haired dog or cat pushed to the side. Upstairs, the ceiling fan in the family movie loft area has wires exposed, and one of the double-paned windows was broken on the inside. One of the beds was impossible to sleep on. You could hear and feel every spring in the old mattress, so I moved to the bedroom downstairs. That's IF you slept at night because of the neighbors worked on cars throughout the night. My major concern about outside was about the lighting. There was one bright light on the corner of the house, but it still didn't help much for anyone trying to navigate the stairs after dark. I think other just deserve to know what to expect when looking at this listing.

Peaceful Wooded Retreat

We very much enjoyed our stay! The home was very clean, comfortable and beautiful! Having two full baths was very helpful! Wonderful location! So much to do in the area! We enjoyed our hikes along the river and the beautiful mountain vistas! We are looking forward to returning again!

Great stay in the mountains!

We enjoyed our stay here for four nights! Communication was excellent with the owner and the house was clean and as described on the website. My kids loved the back patio and said that they felt like they were staying in a treehouse, and I enjoyed the view of the woods behind us. FOBs are included so you have access to the community’s pools, and there is a nice beach that you can swim in. Canoeing is available on the weekends at the beach. We had a friend and her daughter stay with us one night, and it was very convenient having one of the bedrooms and full baths downstairs.
