Great location, great host!

We had a great stay at this location. We had a fairly large group (8 adults, 4 children). There was plenty of space to relax, and most importantly enough bathrooms to accommodate our group. Scott was a fantastic host and was incredibly communicative during our stay. This was the first time we've been to the Donner/Lake Tahoe area during the summer, and it was a great experience.

Winter vacation

Thank you for a wonderful stay! It was wonderful for the kids to just go outside and be able to sled and play in the snow. The kids (that includes the husbands) had a blast on the top floor! It made the trip relaxing.

Awesome cabin, fantastic area

We had a wonderful stay at this amazing cabin. The 3rd floor game room had every bit of family entertainment imaginable. We all stayed comfy with individual thermostats in every room. And the outdoor hot tub even has its own giant screen TV. Hope to return someday!

Wonderful Stay

We stayed at this amazing cabin over the labor day weekend with families and friends. Pete was extremely responsive to all of my questions. He was friendly and kind and made us feel right at home! The cabin was absolutely beautiful and the rooms were spacious. There were everything we need and the playroom was specially awesome for kids and adults! We had the absolute best time and definitely will be back !!!

60th at Sugar Bowl

Fantastic weekend with my closest friends to celebrate my 60th. Did some skiing some snowshoeing and bonding over great food and wine in amazing place. The house was perfect, everybody had a private space and was able to completely relax. We will be back this summer.

The Perfect Space for Cross-Country Reunion

Our group of friends came to stay from all over to celebrate a friend's wedding. Having this many bedrooms, each with separate bathrooms, and multiple places inside and out to hang out was fantastic. We arrived at different times, but entry to the house was super easy which was appreciated. The only real downside was that the main stairs are shaky and scary, going up and down. They are too narrow to take when bringing in bags and are probably ultimately unsafe. Recommend taking the outside stairs whenever possible, weather permitting. Otherwise, we would absolutely stay here again and would love to spend more time hanging out in the back yard enjoying the surroundings. It was a blast and any big group would love it!

Beautiful house, but some issues.

We did enjoy our stay here. The backyard has a spectacular view and there was a little sledding hill (may have technically been the neighbors). The game room upstairs was amazing, so many different activities to do. There were a few problems though. We chose this house because we had 3 couples who all wanted a king bed. This house listed that, but only had two. The stairs are very narrow, steep, loud, and wobbly. They did not fell safe. With the area for the kids being on the third floor and the only usable kitchen being on the bottom floor they had to be used a lot. There is a kitchen on the second floor. It was not clear in the listing that we wouldn't have access to the whole house. That the refrigerator was locked shut. And a day or so before check in we got instructions that we could not use the second floor kitchen. Given the stairs it was a challenge to have the adults 2 floors down from where the kids were and it seemed like an unnecessary restriction.

DO NOT RECOMMEND

We had a multi-family snow trip w/ 14 adults/children. WE DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS CABIN. The following issues were not mentioned in the listing nor were they communicated to us before our stay. NO CENTRAL HEAT. Listing states there is heat. The weather was below 40 deg. w/ snow on the ground. Main living areas and 1 bedroom had stove units, but there was no heat in 4 bedrooms. Each room had an LG air conditioning unit. Despite messaging the owner and him giving instructions on how to use it for heat, the instruction manual for the units specifically say that they are AC units - NOT HEATERS.NO HOT WATER in 3 of the 5 bathrooms. With 14 people this made it difficult for all of us to shower since we were limited to 2 bathrooms. HORRIBLE STAIRS. Winding staircases are narrow and a safety hazard - not up to any city or home building code. We could not use outside stairs due to snow/cold. The stairs are narrow & unstable - most likely installed by homeowner. Home layout is disjointed - it is meant to be 2 duplex units, but stairs were installed in a poor attempt to combine the 2 floors and make it a large rental.Do not trust the photos - home is NOT AS ADVERTISED. Limited property description does not highlight the above issues. We will not be returning and we do not recommend this rental.

Im sorry you feel this way . I find your review rude and offensive. Your lack of communication was horrible and the fact that you bashed our cabin based on user error is laughable. There is 2-3 different ways to heat that house every room has a Cooling and heating system in the ceiling. The downstairs has two fireplaces the main gas one as well as an electric All you had to do is turn the heat on . The upstairs has a pellet fireplace as well as several more ceiling heating units . The hot water works just fine hot and cold i frequently go up there to make sure everything works . As far as the snow I cannot control the storms in which this year it’s rained more than snowed . If you didn’t like the stairs, you shouldn’t have booked a place because all my pictures are very accurate. It just goes to show you can’t please everybody all the time please feel free to never book our cabin again
