Es ist unser Zuhause fern von Zuhause! Urig und gemütlich. Die Anlage liegt direkt am Strand - wir haben einen Sandstrand in The Keys! Balkon hat Meerblick, zwei Schlafzimmer, zwei Bäder Eigentum. Perfekt für zwei Paare - oder kleine Familien, die einen Ausflug in die Florida Keys suchen.
Diese Einheit im zweiten Stock ist ein schön eingerichtetes zweites Zuhause, gemütlich und entspannend. Es verfügt über eine abgeschirmte Terrasse, sodass Sie die tropische Aussicht bequem genießen können. Schauen Sie sich die Aussicht vom Balkon auf unseren Bildern an. Unser Balkon bietet Blick auf den Pool und das Meer und den Strand dahinter. Die Wohnanlage hat einen schönen kleinen Sandstrand und eine Tiki zum Picknicken. Wir haben Stühle zum Entspannen, während Sie die Sonne und den Blick auf das blaue Wasser genießen. Sie können direkt an unserem Strand schwimmen, schnorcheln, angeln, kajak fahren oder paddeln. Bringen Sie ein paar Badeschuhe mit, denn unsere kleine Insel besteht aus versteinerten Korallen. Obwohl der Strand und das Meer sandig sind, gibt es einige felsige und grasige Stellen. We are about 5 miles from the Dolphin Research Center; 2 miles from Aquarium Encounters; 6 miles from The Turtle Hospital. Sombrero Beach and Crane Point Nature Museum are less than 6 miles. There are numerous charter fishing, scuba diving and snorkeling attractions within a 6 mile radius - and the reef and Sombrero Lighthouse is located about 2 - 4 miles offshore via boat ride.

This was a nice complex. This particular unit (#13) is on the second floor and overlooked the pool. Furnishings could use updating, but overall, it had everything we needed for the week.

Beautiful perfect location
This was a wonderful experience for us. The unit we originally rented had been reserved by the owner and Meghan was quick to get back to us with apologies and another option to meet our needs. It was even better (from the pictures) than the one we had originally selected. Regardless, the unit was perfect, pool was warm and wonderful and the grounds and beach were everything we hoped for. This made for a great vantage point to visit every place we hoped in the keys without feeling as if we had to relocate. It was comfortable for our group of two couples and offered all the comforts of home. We fell head over heels for the location and our condo - we will be back!

Property needs update. Kitchen appliances very old. Dishes and pots and pans all look salvaged from a garage sale. A good deep cleaning also needed.

This is a person's second home and the photos and description are accurate, as well as being priced competitively to account for those things. The closet has beach toys and tennis rackets for folks to enjoy during their stay, which seem to be appreciated most of the time. Thank you for your feedback, though, we will get some new cookware.

Very disappointed!
The condo itself is in desperate need of some updating. The dishwasher has rust and missing pieces on the racks. Being from the north we were not aware of sargassum season, I understand it is part of nature but I probably would of made different arrangements. The smell is overwhelming and the beach isn’t usable because of it and the fact that sea grass pretty much covers everywhere in the water. The pool was nice but that’s the only good thing.

Nice place with a beautiful view.
Nice condo with a beautiful view! If you are willing to wake super early you can even catch the sun rising from the balcony. When we got there the bathrooms were very clean but it seemed they forgot to vacuum the place, but after speaking with with Meghan she send someone back right away to vacuum again. She was very helpful and prompt to answer.
The Wi-Fi is spotty at best, so don’t count on using it. I guess the condo being on an island makes technology a bit wonky.
There’s a very nice beach in front of the building but unfortunately, the week we stay there, was something they call seagrass season and the sand was full of dead seagrass, that for environmental reasons, can’t be removed, so we weren’t able to use that beach, but the pool was very nice, clean and super deep, which was really cool.
The condo is nice and had everything you could need in the kitchen. The master bedroom was very spacious and the bathrooms were newly remodeled, the second bedroom has a twin bed and a pull out bed that my kids appreciated since they hate having to share a double bed. Overall it was a nice a place and we enjoyed our stay.

Great location for relaxing
We had a wonderful week in Marathon! This location is away from the busy streets and is very quiet. You are close to two grocery stores, many local restaurants. We enjoyed spending most of our week hanging out by the pool and the beach. Aquarium Encounters is a must to visit, entire family enjoyed it! We also took a day trip to Key West (1 hour drive) which was very nice. Only negative was the pull-out couch mattress not being comfortable, we mentioned to the office staff prior to check out and they were going to tell the owners. We cannot wait to visit again!

Good deal for the money
We had a great family vacation in Marathon. The pool/beach area was very relaxing and well maintained. The location was great for traveling all through the Keys. We took trips to both Islamorada and Key West with no trouble. The property management was very thorough and informative in check in/check out process. This particular unit was clean and easily accommodated our family. The decor and furnishings were dated and somewhat worn out; however, we were really only there to sleep. We would rent again for the perks of the pool and beach area!

Beautiful view of the ocean and pool. Easy access to local restaurants and grocery shopping and 1 hour and 15 minute drive to Key West. Rental of kayaks, bicycles delivered to your doorstep for free. Quiet and away from crowds and traffic. Property needs to updated. Dishwasher rack has rust holes and refrigerator rusted on the outside. Old appliances need to be replaced. Master bed box spring creaked when you moved causing you to wake up. Need to replace.

Seaweed stinks!
Our room had a very, VERY strong smell of mold. This presented us with the choice of keeping windows and doors closed and smelling the mold or opening the windows and smelling the rotten egg seaweed. Not a decision you want to make on vacation. The pool was very nice. We were sad that we couldn't enjoy the beach although we understand nature can't be controlled.. but we may have picked a different time to visit if we knew the seaweed is there this time of year. I can imagine that this is a very nice place but we just went at the wrong time.

Thank you for taking the time to let us know how you felt about your recent stay with us. We take all input very seriously, it helps us improve and we want our guests to be fully satisfied with their stay. We are so sorry that certain aspects of your stay were disappointing. We are happy to help our guests and we try to address any issues immediately if you let us know about them during your stay, we have a condo manager in the office and a grounds manager living on site.
After Hurricane Irma hit us in the fall of 2017, the condos were checked for moisture intrusion, including the one you stayed in, so there are no mold issues in the condo. However, we will certainly have it checked again now that you have mentioned it. Whenever a home, resort, or hotel have an oceanfront location, dampness is a constant aspect of life – and we do have central air conditioning in the condo to keep the humidity in check while keeping it comfortable when the outdoor temperatures rise. Sometimes a condo can be a bit “stuffy” if it has been closed and unoccupied for a while. Additionally, the natural environment, with seagrass and salt air can be very pungent. It is simply a fact and facet of nature here in the Florida Keys, with all the Mangrove trees and roots that surround a great portion of each little island, and attract and hold all of that sea grass and sea life, it has a great ecological significance. We do have the beach raked by a backhoe daily, as the tides and weather permit, and as you noted, we are not able to control strong winds or high tides. As you also noted, the time of year and season can impact whether we are more prone to the sea grass or less prone to it, just as the falling autumn leaves have a season in most parts of North America. You may want to consider an inland resort with a pool, within a short drive of the shore, as an alternative. However, we would love a chance to change your mind – we would be happy to offer you a discount should you return again, perhaps sometime during December through May, when the seasonal seagrasses are usually less pervasive. A very nice stay!
We recently stayed for a week at this property and it was very nice. It was quiet and most guests leave for the day for their activities(diving, fishing, etc). The staff was attentive and helpful, if needed.
The overall property still needs some repairs and landscaping, I assume from hurricane damage last fall. The unit we stayed in was spacious and comfortable except the one front bedroom seemed to stay much warmer than the rest..
It could use some updating in the kitchen and bathrooms but was otherwise fine for the amount of time we spent there. It is listed as two bedroom but is actually three. It was also conveniently located near various restaurants, pharmacies, dives shops, etc.
A note of warning for the Keys: the dead sea grass that accumulates along many shorelines has a strong sulfur smell that takes some getting used to but its a beautiful place to visit and explore!

We are so glad you enjoyed your stay. We'd like you to think of our condos like staying at your aunt or uncle’s beach house – we are not luxury accommodations – we ARE quaint, clean and homey, and at an excellent location. Please come visit us again.
Our grounds and landscaping are rebounding after being hit hard by Hurricane Irma. All our major repairs were completed last winter, but we are still having some ongoing work this summer, particularly on the landscaping.
Summer is also seaweed season, and though our beach is raked daily (with a backhoe), it can still be plentiful, depending on wind and tides. Please understand there is an ecological importance in the seaweed. We have no control over this or "Mother Nature". Think of how during autumn in North America, the leaves fall to the ground, well, for the region of Caribbean and Gulf of Mexico, summer is the time for the sea grass.

Liked everything so much I do not want to say much more in case the rest of the world wants to come here too! Beauty & serenity rolled into one. But...shhhh!

The perfect place for our family vacation!
The Royal Plum Club worked great for our family vacation! We had six adults and one baby with us - me, my wife, our grown son, daughter-in-law, daughter, friend of the family, and our 8 month old grandson. Our condo overlooked the pool and ocean, and was clean, convenient & comfortable for the whole family. The club and the staff there are wonderful! Kevin, the maintenance manager, takes excellent care of the grounds, and was always there with a friendly recommendation on local activities & attractions. He even let me borrow some fishing gear to try an catch some barracuda I saw snorkeling out front! It was also great having the pool to cool off, especially after a day of adventuring. There is a deep and shallow end.
We rented a paddle-board and a few kayaks for three days from Wheels-2-Go (which were delivered) and had a blast with them! One morning we took the kayaks east to the end of the island (basically at the end of Coca Plum Dr), past the abandon mansion, near Curry Hammock State Park. We tied up the kayaks and did some snorkeling by the rocks there. The fish were beautiful and we even saw a number of very large lobsters!
It was nice to have the sandy beach area beyond the pool, but we didn't spend much time in the ocean there, other than on the paddle-board and kayaks. You'll find at this beach, and in may places in the Keys, there is quite a bit of sea grass - the natural habitat of turtles, and lots of the native sea life. That said, since the condo is in the Middle Keys, there are a number of beaches and state parks nearby, and both Key Largo and Key West are just an hour or so away. We took a day trip to Key West and spent an afternoon at the beach at Fort Zachary Taylor Historic State Park. That is definitely worth the trip! Water shoes are nice to have, since the beach has lots of shells, but the beach, shade and snorkeling there is great!
Here are some other places and things we'd highly recommend: The Island Fish Company, Sparky's Landing, Tarpon Creek Bar & Grill, Diving with the Abyss Dive Center, Snorkeling out at the Sombrero Lighthouse (a *must* for snorkeling lovers), and the Turtle Hospital!
All-in-all, the Royal Plum Club, staff and location was perfect for our vacation! If you're looking for a safe comfortable place - a second home, away from home - I'd highly recommend it!

Marathon Condo
Was just OK. Our unit was very old and tired. Screen door was broken which seems to be the case with all of these condos. The price was good and the folks in the office were very friendly and helpful. It is what is is!

We appreciate that you gave us 4 stars, which is positive despite saying that the condo you stayed in was "old and tired" which is negative. Our condos are all individually owned and reflect the tastes and needs of their owners' - these are first and foremost, their second homes. When you visit us - think of it as staying at your aunt or uncle's beach house. Our value is in our home-away-from-home-y-ness; our relaxing atmosphere and excellent location, mixed with our competitive rates. We are not an expensive luxury palace. So, one person's charming and vintage is another person's "old and dated." As for the screen door - we are in a salt air environment, there is constant exposure to harsh elements, we (on-sight overseers Meghan, Becky & Kevin) are constantly maintaining, fixing and replacing elements like the screen door, I can assure you that door was taken care of.

I am Meghan, the current Property Manager at Royal Plum Condos. Becky the previous CAManager retired in April of 2017 after over 10 years. Kevin the Maintenance Manger began with Becky and remains on this team. This condo building complex has a strong association of caring owners who see to its maintenance and upkeep, it has weathered a few storms and is standing strong.
