This was a great place to stay. Definitely does the job if you have activities planned. We utilized public transportation our whole trip and this location was very convenient. AC works great. The walk from the trolley station to the house is very steep, be warned, but very doable. Would definitely stay here again.Whole place felt very clean. Lots of outdoor area too.

Very nice stay. Cleanliness of property was excellent and provided everything we needed to make our stay comfortable. The kitchen does not have central air so it can get warmed up especially when cooking but if you open the door and windows the breeze cools the room down. Parking is not that great you are either parked facing up hill or down hill on a slope and no available space in front of property we had to park down street and walk to property

A little beat up and dirty. Need more kitchen supplies and more blankets and pillows. Need better chairs for patio. Didn’t have parking spaces like it said. Cute property though and very good communication! Need more glasses to drink out of too.

Awesome locations near all the places we wanted to visit in downtown SD. This place has a great balance of sleeping provisions and hosting space for a weekend away. Would definitely return here.

Home is in a great location. My family was able to Uber everywhere without being stuck in traffic.

Great neighborhood, home was nice but not very spacious. However, the location made the difference.

We had a great family vacation! All new kitchen appliances and bar style table made us feel right at home! The bedrooms were all large, making it very comfortable for all of us! The master bedroom was huge and could easily accommodate a pack & play with plenty of room still available! The outside area was spacious with a table and chairs, corn hole & laundry room. We enjoyed sitting outside and watching the airplanes! Thank you so much!

MCRD GRADUATION

This location was perfect for our stay. We could see the MCRD from the backyard and my son was able to tell us what the buildings we were seeing were used for. We used the grill, the kitchen, the laundry and it all worked and was stocked for use! Thank you!

responsible owners and wonderful location

That was awesome 8 days-trip in San-Diego. The house location is wonderful. It's near by almost all attractions no more 10 mins drive. Cleaning crew missed to replace master bedroom bed sheets. Owners are quickly covering the issue. I would recommend the house.

Beautiful House on the hill with a view!

We went down to San Diego for New Years, and stayed at this beautiful two story home. Everything was clean, and the rooms were all very comfortable to sleep in. The master bedroom offers a beautiful view of the skies. The outside of the home was huge, and had a grill we got to sit around on what felt like the 3rd story, level, getting to look out to the city. Our host responded to every message timely and was more than hospitable to our New Years stay. Would definitely recommend to other groups or families looking for a nice home in a good location.

Nice place

The property lacked a couple of items that the description said it had which was annoying when you plan on it being there. And the fire detector in the main bedroom kept beeping and the fridge needs a water filter. Other than those few things it was a nice place to stay.

Walking distance of MCRD, beautiful neighborhood

We stayed here for our Marine recruit's graduation. We walked over to MCRD both days and were so happy to pass the very long lines of cars being checked. Totally worth it! The property is very nicely updated. Our recruit enjoyed the laundry room and there is nice outdoor seating and cornhole as well. Super easy check in and out. The neighborhood is lovely and is close to the bus routes and freeways. There are lots of restaurants within a couple of blocks - italian pizza, mexican, pastries and gelato, seafood. We walked with our kids walked to Balboa park one of the days too. I guess I can't say enough good about it. We had a very relaxing and enjoyable time here.

Would not stay again

The security gate is not so secure since you can open it without a key. The parking is on a steep incline. The power went out our first night and we did not spend the night, yet no accommodations were made for my family. There is NO ventilation on the lower level where the kitchen is located and it’s suffocating with the heat. There was only one skillet and one that was charred and placed in the cupboard as if it was usable. The rack in shower falls during each shower, it’s best not to use it.

Hi Leaa - thank you for sharing your feedback. We take full accountability about the skillet being charred. Unfortunately this was a detail missed by our cleaning crew but we have purchased all new cooking ware and made replacements. There was a massive power outage during your stay which impacted all neighborhoods within 1 mile radius. Unfortunately we can’t predict power outages and it didn’t help that there was a heatwave at that time which may have been the reason you thought there was no ventilation downstairs but there is plenty. Our security gate is monitored closely by our security cameras to ensure the safety of all our guests. Thank you.

It was in a great location. Close to the zoo and sea world and liberty square. The only challenge was parking. No parking available on the property so you have to find street parking which was a bit challenging

We stayed at this adorable property for events at MCRD. The location was perfect for that, or anything else in the area including the airport. Additionally, there are many great places to eat within walking distance.

Perfect location for MCRD Graduation!!!

We came to town for MCRD Graduation and stayed at this wonderful location. The spot was perfect - walking distance to MCRD and a good number of enjoyable restaurants. We were able to bypass the loooong vehicle line and walk right onto base. There is a bit of a steep climb the last block and a half back to the house, but other than that, the walk is pretty easy (about a half mile). The house interior is a bit small, but manageable, and the outdoor spaces are very nice to have. We spent most of our time outside. The beds were all incredibly comfortable. The house would be even better with a few fans for the downstairs area and some larger mirrors upstairs for getting ready. As a landscaping enthusiast, I'd love to see more done with the outdoor areas - plantings and furniture-wise. Even so, I would definitely stay here again and would highly recommend it with no hesitation whatsoever.
