Enjoy perfect ski in/out access from the house, breath-taking views of the Spanish Peaks and 2.0 acres of privacy in Moonlight Basin's gorgeous Diamond Hitch area.

Situated with ski run literally in the backyard - this run takes you directly to the Big Sky Base Camp. Ski in from the top of 9 different lifts. Marvel at the panoramic views of the Spanish Peaks from almost every room in the spacious 9500 square foot home. Relax in the peaceful, secluded wooded surroundings of this exceptional property. This high end custom log home has 7 bedrooms - 5 suites, a 6 bed bunk room and a bonus rec/bedroom - 7 ½ baths, beautiful decks, great living room with a stone fireplace, and gourmet chef's kitchen. It also has a sauna and hot tub for relaxing after a day on the slopes or on the trails

The layout of the house is designed to bring families and friends together and comfortably sleeps 20. The home is decorated in a traditional northern rocky-mountain cabin theme and the kitchen is well equipped for the gourmet chef with only high end kitchen supplies. The house is heated with the latest in radiant heat technology, and is comfortable to walk around in shorts.

Saddle Horn Lodge has 4 porches which wrap around the outside of the house. The lower porch has an 8 person hot tub, and upper deck has gas grill and has sitting furniture to enjoy the spectacular views of the Spanish Peaks.

If you like the winter, you will find the summer even better. We are only 20 miles from the border of Yellowstone National Park - you might see moose, deer, elk and the occasional bear from your window. Really. The Gallatin River, featured in the movie “ A River Runs Thought It” is just down the mountain and is famed for its beauty and blue ribbon fishing. Great hiking abounds.

The property is professionally managed and you will be able to check in directly at the house. We try to provide more than just a house, but the same service you would expect at a 5 star resort.

Our host was excellent. Overall , the house fit our family very well. The ski in/ski out was wonderful.For a group of 18… we had allot of trash. Trash pickup was late and we called the property manager… Chris took care of our trash issue very quickly. The only big issue was HOT WATER. It took only 4 showers before running out of hot water. A big issue when you have 18 people who ski hard all day. Overall, great time in a wonderful home.Bill

Thanks for the feedback, Bill, and I'm pleased that your group had a wonderful time - we really go out of our way to make sure that guests have a memorable vacation. We have investigated the hot water issue. The home has a 110-gallon hot water tank and was inspected this fall and determined to be in good working order. You are the first guest to raise the concern, but we will certainly keep inspecting the tank to make sure it is good work order for future guests. We stive for five star ratings from all our guests - sorry we came up short for you.

There was a ton of snow during our April trip and enjoyed this property immensely. Home contained all amenities we were looking for plus more. Very well stocked with all the kitchen gadgets and appliances. Great ski-in access! The Ski out was doable but a bit flat.

Lovely property, great location!

We had such a great stay at this property! The manager and owner were both super friendly and responsive. The location is amazing and beautiful. During our 4 night stay here we spotted an elk, grazing on wildflowers in the back yard, and a bear, roaming through the woods beyond the backyard.

Perfect family vacation

HIGH EXPECTATIONS MET!

Glen and Tana answered every question we had before we got there. So, we had very high expectations but they exceeded in every way. The house was perfect for 5 adult families with 8 grands, ages 1-12, a total of 17 for a week. Kids had all they needed to play in house and the location was only 10 minutes from the village with ski lifts, food, hiking, biking etc.The kitchen had everything we needed.We even had a chef there one night who was thrilled with the condition of the kitchen. Family ski trip

We had a great time skiing with our family of 8 adults and 7 grandchildren. The ski in/out feature was great for the adults and even for the kids after a couple days of ski school. The house was plenty big enough and the laundry room with 2 sets of washer/dryers was nice. The property manager and the owners went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed.

You can see from the pictures- the house is Amazing. But what you can't see is the extra mile that Chris, the house host, goes thru to tee up an epic experience. The house was clean, the wood was stocked, and we felt well taken care of before and during our trip.

Perfect for a big group

We had a great stay at Saddle Horn for a New Year's ski trip! It has amazing group hang out areas, a very nice sauna and hot tub, and plenty of room for everyone. The two upstairs masters are especially beautiful. So easy to ski in and out of as well. We also loved the heated floors. Super accommodating host and property manager, who went out of their way to make sure my grandmother would be comfortable. Can't wait for next year!

Nice place Good for large family or groups

This property worked great for our needs. The ski in/out was pretty good, just a little pushing to get in and out of the house The hot tub was nice, plenty of towels, and the kitchen was very well equipped You absolutely need a all-wheel-drive to get to the house if it snows. we only had a few inches while we were there, but it was essential that we had four-wheel-drive. The fireplace was very nice and throws a lot of heat- plenty of wood to burn. Overall the place was great, clean, and well organized. To go to dinner you have to get in your car or get a car to take you somewhere but kitchen was good for cooking. Also, we used the gourmet girls one night, who delivered prepared food, and it was terrific.

Stunning views-plenty of room for big families

House was perfect for our group of 18. Lots of large common rooms for families to gather. Big Sky Resort had lots of summer for for little kids (trampoline, zip line and other crafts). Teens and adults whitewater and atv-ing. Highly suggest Canyon Adventures. Took side by sides up mountain +10k ft into snow. Great time. Your a little over hour from West Yellowstone. Beautiful drive. My only caution is try to arrive before dark. Resort roads are steep with no markings. Owners were communicative and made sure we were happy. Thank you!

Weather outside was frightful!

Booked (at highly inflated prices) and anticipated spending our Family Christmas together at Saddle Horn. Due to extreme unavoidable travel, highways closed and airlines cancelling flights 5 of 14 were not able to join us. We contacted the owner who was enjoying the property at the time (day before our arrival) and he offered us an option to rebook at later date. When I called back (less then 24 hours) after travel remained unsafe he rescinded his offer. 6 of us arrived late - with 3 others joining us two days late. The real disappointment came while we were trying to enjoy the property. During our stay we experienced - after loading dishes in - a dishwasher that was not working (when the management was contacted he said he knew about this). Why not put Out Of Order?! A plumbing leak in master bath that caused water to run down threw the ceiling that we spent time mopping up. (Called management who came after several hours to access the leaking area, he thought it was a different area that is troublesome due to snow.) Additionally the sink faucet was not working properly, light switch not working and (picky but infuriating due to other items) a string of lights, in middle of Christmas tree were not working. Most exasperating on our last night there, high winds caused exterior door (that we had not used as it led to a outside deck covered in beautiful snow) to blow open 3 times during the night causing a sleepless night. Again, management was notified. I can’t imagine that happening when house is not occupied. The view is amazing - you can’t beat that. The house needs TLC!!

Christmas at Big Sky is magical and as a result bookings over Christmas week are highly sought after and, logically, more expensive. Big homes that can accommodate large groups such as this one require a lot of maintenance and the revenue from Christmas week is critical for making this home available for others to enjoy. Rebooking guests the day before arrival on the most popular week of the year is a lot to ask of any home owner. As I said at the time, I am very sorry that your family, like so many others (including ours), had travel issues over the holidays. It was a rough year on many families and I'm sure that your impacted family members would have preferred to be enjoying Big Sky. Prior to the your arrival, the house was gone over with a fine tooth comb by both the owner and the property manager multiple times. The dishwasher was fixed within days of realizing it was broken (I suppose we could have put up a sign - in the future we will). The other issues did not exist prior to the guests' arrival and were fixed promptly upon learning of their existence. The Christmas tree lights I can't explain - sometimes they go bad. I can assure you this house is loved. We have made many significant upgrades to the house in the 9 months we have owned it and intend to keep making investments in it so that future guests can enjoy this amazing property. We take these reviews seriously and want all our guests to have 5 star experiences.
