Ten minutes from Ellison Bay, twenty minutes from the food and shopping of Sister Bay, and just minutes from the Washington Island ferry, you’ll be close to everything yet far enough away from it all to be able to relax and enjoy nature, like the gorgeous Hotz Trail in the Europe Bay Natural Area which is just steps away from your front door. Elevated above the lake, the wooded Hotz Trail is perfect for jogging, hiking, cross country skiing, or mushroom hunting, and if you follow it for about a mile it will take you to the sandy, secluded shores of the Liberty Grove Town Park beach. Or take the fork in the trail to visit the beautiful wildlife of Europe Lake, less than a mile away.
Once the sun goes down, enjoy time with your loved ones around a fire. Choose the fire pit or the outdoor gas fireplace. And while you’re out there, don’t forget to look up! Our geographic location makes the sky especially dark which is why nearby Newport State Park is Wisconsin’s first International Dark Sky Park.
