Some history...
Built in 1170 by the Carthusian monks, “Les Chartreux”, the Chartreuse de Pomier was a place of work and prayer. The current building, called “obediences,” served as their barn, forge, and dwelling. Built over a spring, its original well still exists in the large hall. With more than 600 years of prayers, the site continues to radiate serenity, and is located in a very peaceful and preserved land.
