This is a fantastic property! It’s a great change of pace from the fake log cabins so common in the area, and it was the perfect reset for our family of five (two adult children and one teenager). It’s unbelievably quiet, and both the hot tub and pool were clean and inviting. We will be back!

Great property and loved the location. A couple of things could be improved: 1) there were many fruit flies in the kitchen, the bath towel selections were limited and they started moving the lawn at 7:45a on Saturday morning.

Beautiful Home!

This was a great weekend getaway. Close enough to Blue Ridge for dining and fun, but remote enough for peace and quiet. The pool is great. Highly recommend!

Lovely

So nice. Very clean and spacious. A perfect getaway. A quiet retreat. We saw deer and bunny rabbits. Great Mountain Views. We went for our anniversary, but there is plenty of room for a family getaway. Owners were super nice, and responded quickly when I had questions. We will be booking this home again.

Thanksgiving Family Getaway

Beautiful location, the views can’t be beat. House was as advertised / expected and kitchen was well stocked with utensils as compared to some previous reviews. Few pounds of dust on the fans and cabinets which you might not notice other than the floor to ceiling windows that provide that amazing view let the sun in just the right way to see anything not spotless 😬.

2023 Sisters Trip

Loved the house, perfect for our group of 7. Very clean. Pool was awesome. View perfect. The following could be added: information how to work gas oven. Window covering in downstairs bedroom, dish towels.

Weekend Getaway for a group of girlfriends.

Unlike most of our trips for this group, we spent the majority of our time at the rental house...with little desire to leave!! The home is absolutely beautiful, the views spectacular, the amenities are great...the decorations perfection, and the pool and hot tub were amazing and well kept. The 4 bedrooms all with larger beds (beds were very comfortable!) And each with their own bathrooms was a definite plus! Lastly, the responsiveness of the owner and property manager leading up to the rental dates and during our actual stay for minor questions was always answered very quickly! I definitely recommend this property. You will not regret it!

Absolutely Perfect!!

The pictures and description of this property do not compare with the live view. Waters Edge is a perfect place for year round trips to the Blue Ridge Mountains. The property itself is well staged and equipped with everything you need. Within 30 minutes of getting to the property I posted on social media that I would not be bothered for the remainder of my trip. I’ve been booking trips to greater Blue Ridge multiple times a years for 15+ years and hands down, this is the best property we’ve had a chance to experience.

Beautiful property

This property was one of the best properties that we have ever rented! It was beautifully decorated and you can tell that the owners really thought about every detail. It was very neat and clean and very well maintained. Each bedroom was gorgeous and had an en-suite bath. There weren't a lot of negative things that we could say about the property other than there were ladybugs everywhere. Also, the address that was given was a little off, but if you are ok with the ladybugs then this is the property for you! . I hope this helps.

Remote getaway

This new property is relaxing and beautiful - once you get there! Be prepared for a remote winding gravel road. Kitchen is not “cook friendly”. Needs more dinnerware, equipment and stove instruction and adjustment. More bathroom towels. Pictures are accurate. This could be a 5 star property when more attention is given to details.

Scenic, quiet retreat in the mountains

Took the family (3 kids and 2 adults) to this place over Fall Break. The heated pool and the view was the reason we stayed here. It was a nice retreat from city life, as the sunsets/sunrises were amazing as were the quiet surroundings. The house itself was top notch. A few things to know about the area - not the house itself: 1. You’re about 20 minutes away from town. 2. The gravel road can be difficult to navigate - like the last 50 yards up to the house. Some rain had recently washed out the drive up so there was some large bumps and tricky parts if you’re not in a larger vehicle. 3. If you’re not from the South and are a person of color, just be warned that the area has lots of Confederate flags. We never felt unsafe or threatened, as you’re almost isolated besides the cabin that’s right next door. Just a heads up if that’s a trigger for you.

We want to make sure all guests understand that there are no confederate flags on our property. Obviously, we can't control other properties in the Blue Ridge area, but wanted to be clear to all guests that are home is safe for all. Clark, we are glad you enjoyed your stay!

Just above frat house with uninformed owners

If you are looking for a place that college aged kids can come drink and through a party this would be great. We were not and we even left early due to the owners lack of action. We rented this house because it had a pool and nice images of the interior. What we were not expecting was to find the pool too cloudy to see through let alone swim in with children and a house that was filled with junk behind every paper thin door. The beds were so loud that not one of the 4 couples could sleep through the night and the broken or unused lamps and shelving in the closets made putting anything in them impossible. The owners were another story. We noted wasp nests and ants on entry and received sprays for both within hours but could not get anyone to fix the pool that was most of the reason we selected the house.

Pricey for what you get

First off, if you don't have a high suv or truck, you may bottom out and get stuck in the drive way. Property manager didn't take it seriously at first but we couldn't leave our first day here. It was not up to cleanliness standards for the price we paid. There were dead large bugs around the bathtub. Old previous renters dirty freezer items. Linens thrown in the closet not folded. Towels left in dryer not folded. Only 2 laundry pods for laundry loads. (The cleaner did help fix most of those things (freezer and laundry) the next day. Things are old and creaky. Master bed is loud if you toss and turn you'll wake everyone around. It was simply not worth the total money we paid.

To our future guests: Water's Edge is a premier property in the area, you will want to see for yourself. The road to this home is passable by any type of vehicle, not requiring 4x4. It is regularly graded to smooth gravel, but well maintained by multiple owners. The cleaning manager is available if there are any cleanliness issues which are rare, and remedied as soon as possible. We do provide starter kits for laundry pods and dishwashing, but guests do self-accommodate for their cooking and laundry needs during their stay.

Inaccurate Description

Water's Edge is a beautiful property and we had a wonderful time ringing in the New Year. However, there are several issues with the house that made our stay rather difficult, especially for the premium price point we were paying. The kitchen is not appropriately stocked. There wasn't nearly enough glassware for 8 people. In addition to the glassware, we had to go to the store to stock up on several supplies that we thought would be there based on the VRBO listing and description, among them being dishwasher detergent, paper towels, trash bags, sponges and toilet paper to name a few. Several of the appliances had issues. The dishwasher stopped working mid cycle and the oven wasn't heating. Luckily we were able to fix those, but in addition to the kitchen appliances, the upstairs and downstairs indoor fireplace wouldn't turn on, the TV in the master bedroom didn't work, the TV on the upstairs outdoor patio would turn on but you couldn't change the channel, and the hot tub was rather cloudy which seemed a little off. The listing indicated that there would be shampoo and body wash for the bathrooms. These travel size shampoos and conditioners (no body wash) we were left with were EXTREMELY watered down. We couldn't use them and had to go purchase shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and dawn dish soap. Again, I want to reiterate that Water's Edge is a beautiful property and we had a nice holiday weekend, but I feel like the property description was inaccurate.
