The backdeck umbrella was broken, the grill was not usable because it was dirty, the dishwasher was broken for half of our stay, the outside trash receptacle was too small and did not have a cover. Trash from the last guest filled the container for the first three days of our stay.

Week vacation

There was one air conditioner for the whole house that was so old and barely worked. The towel holder in the bathroom kept falling off the wall. I wanted to give my child a bath because he’s an infant and can’t shower and the tub drain was broken and did not close. Under the beds was so dusty. The dishwasher worked if it wanted to. One of the bedroom doors did not stay closed. One of the ceiling fans barely worked it was so slow. It was a great location and the neighbors were very friendly. But the cottage itself needs some definite updating for the price they charge for a week stay.

Wells Beach 2023

Our overall stay was enjoyable. We had a lot of fun hanging out on the back deck and on the beach. It is also in walking distance of Wells Beach, which was perfect for us to go down and spend some time fishing. On rainy days we were able to hang out and watch movies once we got the WiFi on, we did have to plug it in and turn it on ourselves to get it working. Upon arrival we were greeted by a nice thank you note and information on all of the local restaurants/things to do which was nice. The house is spacious and clean, the beds were very comfortable, but the living room furniture could use some updating, the grill burner was unfortunately broken, and the sliding back door lock did not work properly. No big deal but worth noting. When you book here, it is through an outside company, which was a little confusing for us at first - but everything worked out great. :)

Location perfect but the house and property mgnt just meh.

We know the area well and knew we'd love the location of this house. That aspect was perfect! But communication with the property management company, Getaway Vacations, was poor with the original VRBO listing missing details they didnt mention until after the reservation was made and money paid like there being no linens provided and no toilet paper, paper towel, trash bags etc. It took over two weeks to get an answer on if they could provide linens. They did, through a linen service, but they weren't there when we arrived and the woman who brought them was unpleasant and dropped the bags of linens at the door. One of the sheets had a hole in it and frayed edges. And the queen mattress is old and beyond broken in. The house itself is run down, cheap finishes, dirty bathroom, a single window AC that can't get the house below 82 on a 90 degree day and old, uncomfortable furniture. We made breakfast both mornings we were there but had to wash the fry pan and dishes we used as they were dirty. The dish soap was so old it had turned to an immovable gel in the bottom of the bottle. Outside there was a pile of dirt and rocks half blocking the steps onto the deck, a broken gate at said steps, trash on the front lawn, a gutter falling off the house and the outdoor shower doesn't work. For the price we paid for just two nights it was definitely not worth it. The sunsets and 2 minute walk to the beach and jetty were the best parts. We won't stay there again.

Tiny cottage, nice location, needs updates

We know this location well and based on needs/proximity to other family nearby, needed to be right around this block. With that said I wouldn't rent this house again. First, the house was listed as having an outdoor shower. I guess I wasn't specific when I thought a shower should have some type of surround for slight privacy. The shower wasnt in tact when we got there, so inquired with VRBO, then the property manager. I was told they had the shower head to install outside but hadn't put it on yet because the previous week the renters didn't want maintenance there while they were there. However, since our indoor shower also wasn't functioning properly we did want it! That was another story, the 1 and only indoor shower was broken and wasn't giving proper water flow. We were hardly able to shower. Luckily we had another house nearby that more family was renting. Ultimately our shower head (inside) was replaced on Wednesday (day 4!) of our 7 day stay. And the outdoor shower head (totally exposed, no surround) was installed on Tuesday. The main sofa in the house is so uncomfortable to sit on, it's way overdue for replacing. We couldn't sit there long enough to watch a movie. We found it more comfortable to bring folding chairs in the house for the family . The good news is that the bed was comfortable. Windows in the house are tiny and old and don't open/close well. There is a washer/dryer combo that works well. Outlets and lights are old and need update
