Wenn Sie nach einer einzigartigen und rustikalen HĂŒtte suchen, um sich in einer wunderschönen Bergkulisse zu entspannen und zu erholen, dann haben Sie sie gefunden! Privat und doch gĂŒnstig, um alle High Country zu bieten hat. Kommen Sie und erleben Sie den Charme eines "echten" Pionier-Blockhauses. Genießen Sie das einfache VergnĂŒgen der Schönheit der Natur und frĂŒhes Americana in einem. Atme tief ein, jetzt ... atme aus!

Sleepy Creek wird aus den Protokollen von zwei authentischen BlockhĂ€usern aus dem 19. Jahrhundert (aus Kentucky und West Virginia) hergestellt, die wieder zusammengebaut und zusammengefĂŒgt wurden, um einen einzigartigen und komfortablen Urlaub zu ermöglichen. Diese Kabine ist aus wunderschönen, von Hand gehauenen Pappel- und EichenstĂ€mmen, wundervollem Mauerwerk und einem Zedernholzdach gebaut. Es befindet sich auf einem 4 Hektar großen WaldgrundstĂŒck mit einem schönen Bach, der durch die gesamte FlĂ€che an der HĂŒtte vorbeifließt.

Der Innenraum verfĂŒgt ĂŒber große Zimmer mit (2) Schlafzimmer und (2) Badezimmer. Der Meister befindet sich im Erdgeschoss (Queen) und verfĂŒgt ĂŒber ein kleines eigenes Bad. Dielenböden aus schwarzem Walnussholz, antike AstholzvertĂ€felungen und ein Kamin aus Specksteinblöcken mischen sich mit neueren Komponenten, um die Voraussetzungen fĂŒr diesen gemĂŒtlichen RĂŒckzugsort zu schaffen. Das zweite Schlafzimmer umfasst das gesamte Obergeschoss (ein Doppelbett und zwei Einzelbetten) mit gewölbter Decke und Deckenventilatoren.

Die rustikale KĂŒche im Landhausstil ist komplett ausgestattet und verfĂŒgt ĂŒber alle neuen GerĂ€te. Sie bewahrt jedoch ihren lĂ€ndlichen Charme mit antiken Möbeln, einschließlich eines authentischen Hoosier-Schranks aus der Jahrhundertwende. Es gibt auch einen separaten Waschraum. Ein zweites Badezimmer befindet sich im Erdgeschoss. Aber das Beste ist die ĂŒberdachte Veranda. Entspannen Sie sich bei der Aussicht auf den sehr lauten Bach und die vielen Kolibris, die im Sommer die HĂŒtte besuchen. Vergessen Sie nicht, ein Picknick oder ein Nickerchen am Bach zu machen - BĂ€nke, Picknicktisch und HĂ€ngematte sind vorhanden. Perfect getaway - the cabin is easily accessible but feels like it’s away from everything. Quiet, except for the beautiful creek and occasional car. The cabin is well-equipped with everything you might need and everything you didn’t know you needed. Exceptionally clean and beautifully appointed. I have not felt so relaxed as I was while at the cabin.

Summer at Sleepy Creek

Sleepy Creek exceeded our expectations and we had a wonderful week long family vacation. It was very clean and the beautiful weather was perfect for evenings playing games at the table by the creek. On rainy days, we enjoyed the time on the porch. If staying there during warmer months, it did get warm upstairs and we were running a bunch of fans to cool it off. Kathe was wonderful to work with and helpful during our stay. We would definitely stay here again!

We absolutely love this place! Our host, Kathe, went out of her way to make us feel welcome and assured that we had an everything we needed. Beautiful, clean home. A secluded cabin in the mountains, a fireplace and rushing creek are our must haves and this one checked every box!

Sleepy Creek Cabin

My husband and I have stayed in a lot of places in Virginia and North Carolina and I must say this has been my absolute favorite!! The cabin is rustic and charming just as pictured. The yard and landscaping is beautiful!!! The stream makes it even better! The location is great and is a short drive to West Jefferson. Kathe is a wonderful hostess and very responsive to your needs or questions. We will definitely stay again!

Amazing cabin and property

The pictures do not do this place justice. It is absolutely beautiful. It looks like something out of a magazine. The landscaping and creek are stunning. Creek access is very easy. We enjoyed our stay with two little dogs and two teenaged boys (15 & 18). We had so much fun tossing the football, grilling out, playing with the dogs in the yard and creek. Quality family time. Enjoyed coffee on the porch watching the hummingbirds and incredible amount of butterflies. There was a nest of baby birds in one of the ferns and we enjoyed watching the parents bringing them worms. They would stay off to the side and make clicking noises until we moved inside so they could feed them. So cute. The cabin was very comfortable and rustic. We had everything we needed from kitchen items to toilet paper and towels. Plenty of cleaning supplies as well. I was a little worried when I realized there was no air conditioning but it wasn't a big issue. The house is in a very shady pocket with a canopy of trees. We opened the windows and turned on the fans. Actually got a little cool at times! Kathe was so wonderful to work with and gave us lots of information and tips. I forgot to call her to check in when we arrived (sorry, I was excited!) but she called to welcome us and make sure we had what we needed (thanks!). One thing I wanted to mention if you are leaving on Sunday. The landfill doesn't open until 1pm. That doesn't work for a 10am checkout. So if you will have more than one kitchen bag of trash, take some off the day before. We didn't realize this until Sunday morning. Riding with stinky trash until you find a dumpster is not preferred (ha!). Read and re-read the rental agreement and guest package. It was very helpful and we kept it with us in the car for directions also. The cabin is very convenient to Boone and West Jefferson. We went to both. Also very close to the Blue Ridge Parkway and lots of hiking trails. We went to Price Lake and rented kayaks one morning. We wouldn't hesitate to rent this cabin again. It is well loved and felt like home. We couldn't wait to return every afternoon to just hang out after our morning adventures. Highly recommend.

Serene setting in very accessible location. Short drive to West Jefferson, Boone and surrounding attractions. Place is very well equipped and as cozy as it gets (especially with a fire going). Kathe was a great host and made sure that everything was in order and that we were comfortable. Perfect setting for a family stay. We will be back.

Perfect Rest

Beautiful landscaped yard with a creek that you can listen to while sitting on the cozy porch. Enjoyed visiting with the chipmunks, birds, hummingbirds and a huge blue heron flew by me on the porch. We felt incredibly relaxed during our visit. Home is cozy, beautifully decorated, clean and everything provided for our stay. Will be back!

Charming Cabin; Fabulous Stay

A family of four + 1 mountain-loving dog had a great time at Sleepy Creek. We spent four nights in the cabin over the Thanksgiving holiday. The cabin is exquisitely maintained. It is warm and inviting and easy to get to. My family has a tradition of going to the mountains every Thanksgiving and this has been our favorite location by far.

Charming, cozy, comfortable and clean. An absolute delight. The yard is lovely, the porch is a dream, the kitchen has all that is needed to cook a meal. The cabin is nicely furnished and filled with whimsically rustic touches. Loved it!

Choosing the perfect vacation home is so incredibly difficult and personal. We knew we wanted to restore an antique log cabin, with all the trimmings that come along with the simple, unique craftsmanship of our early pioneer heritage. Twenty years of dreaming, off and on again searching, found us in what we believe is an incredibly beautiful section of the N.C. Mountains. Located in a quiet valley setting, with a cold noisy mountain stream to lull us to sleep, yet within convenient proximity to nearby towns, and Parkway access just a hop, skip and jump away - we were home! A few years, and a lot of hard work later, Sleepy Creek was created, and has become a very special place for us to unwind, enjoy simple pleasures, and make special memories with family and friends. We hope you will visit and enjoy the cabin and area as much as our family.
