~The Resort~
This sprawling, 1,000+ acre resort is an absolute tropical paradise, and guarantees a fantastic time for visitors of all ages. The Grand Mayan is located in the Vidanta Mayan Riviera Resort featuring pristine cabana-lined beachfront, a gorgeous network of intricately linked pools, and more than 15 world class bars and restaurants. Navigate from one area to another via boardwalk paths through the lush greenery of the rainforest or using Vidanta’s shuttle system. The resort features a Jack Nicklaus-designed golf course as well as Riviera Maya’s Cirque du Soleil show JOYA, and the new waterpark JUNGALA with an amazing lazy river. Sip cocktails on the beach delivered straight to your lounge chair or enjoy the many swim up bars in the pools. For more active vacationers, partake inorganized water aerobics, yoga or volleyball games, just to name a few! Work out in the gym or take your relaxation to new heights by spending a day at the spa. Every inch of this resort is spotless and the employees are so kind and eager to provide the highest level of service. All food/ drink charges made during the week, as well access to your room are done through bracelets given at check-in, so there is no hassle of needing to carrying your wallet or purse. In addition to a number of pools accessible by all guests, this booking provides exclusive access to the Grand Mayan infinity pool overlooking the central lagoon.



~The Area
Riviera Maya is located in the eastern portion of the Yucatán Peninsula, 20 minutes from Playa del Carmen, 30 minutes from Cancun, and about 90 minutes to the ancient Mayan ruins in Tulum.
Playa del Carmen is most famous for “Quinta Avenida”, or Fifth Avenue, a pedestrian street lined with hundreds of shops, bars, and restaurants. Playa del Carmen features incredible authentic food and amazing nightlife. Shuttles, or “collectivos” (group taxis) run multiple times per day between the resort and Playa del Carmen.
Playa del Carmen has a ferry to Cozumel, an amazing island with world class snorkeling and scuba diving. I HIGHLY recommend renting a jeep to drive to the far side of the island, where uninterrupted miles of beachfront are dotted every few miles with small restaurants featuring beachfront dining, personal cabanas, snorkeling, and tequila tastings.
There are dozens of companies offering any type of excursion you can imagine. From visiting the Mayan ruins in Tulum, Cabo, and Chichen Itza, to exploring cenotes, to snorkeling, deep-sea fishing, the list goes on!


Free transportation can be arranged from the airport to the resort by following the information received in your confirmation email. Reservations must be made in 7-day increments and check-in/ check-out is on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays.

Since this is a timeshare at a resort, we will need approximately 24 hours to confirm requested days.

There is a lot of flexibility- please reach out if you would like a different level suite (higher level of luxury) or a One-bedroom Grand Mayan. This listing is also available at the Vidanta resort in Nuevo Vallarta on the West Coast of Mexico.
