NOTE: 4WD/AWD required in winter with snow tires (Thanksgiving through late March). Chains can be rented in the neighborhood for $30/day.

Our 3 bedroom/3 bathroom cabin is conveniently located directly across from Purgatory Ski Resort and features 2 decks along with a hot tub, views of Purgatory, BBQ Grill and comfy outdoor seating. The cabin also features WIFI, washer/dryer, 2 living spaces and parking for 3 vehicles (not covered).

Bed Configuration:
Master - King Bed with Ensuite Bath (Main Level)
2nd Bedroom - Queen Bed (Upstairs)
3rd Bedroom - 2 Sets of Bunk Beds (Single over Double)

This home is pet friendly! We allow a maximum of 2 dogs max and the pet fee is $40/day (for a max $250 per stay).

Please note that, like most properties in the area, this home does not have AC, as it is uncommon for homes at this elevation. Temperatures inside the property are easily managed by using fans and opening the windows at night when temperatures drop into the 40s.

Book at least a week and a 10% discount is automatically applied (Excludes Christmas/New Years).

We were provided with wrong instructions that were meant for another rental home. Check out process was confusing as the email indicated for us to empty the dishwasher and discard the trash at the nearby dumpsters on the premises which do not exist. Dishwasher does not exist inside the home. After driving around the area for an hour to discard the trash in the proper dumpster we called for clarification and we were told to leave the trash and recyclables in the mud room. We were not told to strip the beds only to place the towels inside the washer which we did. We cleaned and put away our dishes and neatly placed the recyclables and trash in the mud room. We were disappointed to receive one star from housekeeping because we left the premises neat and tidy.

We have verified that the Arrival Instructions are accurate for this property, so moving forward guests receive the correct instructions for the property. The departure instructions are general, so instructions about a dishwasher or washing machine (if the property does not have those appliances) can simply be ignored. The trash dumpster for the Lake Purgatory area is located on Lake Purgatory Dr., and you would have passed it multiple times going to/from the property. Sorry you couldn't find it. The 1 Star VRBO review is not accurate, as we did not give you that rating, which is why we directed you to VRBO to have them correct that for you, if needed. We look forward to having you stay with Vacation Rental Collective again in the future!

Bachelor trip

We stayed for a bachelor trip, and couldn’t have asked for a better location! The hot tub was perfect at the end of a long day of skiing.

Many positive things about this property. Location was great, beds were cozy, the kids loved the hot tube on the deck. Overall the place was cute and communication with rental company was great. The reason I took 2 stars away was due to the cleanliness of the place. I already spoke with the rental company about the issues and I trust they will be rectified before the next guest arrives. Cute cabin for summer fun.

Perfect Private Ski/Snowboard Cabin

Distant enough to be quiet & secluded. Close enough that walking is an option if main purgatory parking lots are full. Private hot tub to recover before and after riding was clutch!

The only issue we ran into was the extremely low water pressure in the upstairs bathroom, sediment when bathing children in the downstairs bathroom and the water heater taking a while to get the water warm.

Great cabin for a mountain getaway overlooking Purgatory

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: My son and I wanted to beat the Texas heat and rented this cabin for 5 nights. Accommodations were great, cabin was roomy, and location was great. Our favorite was the huge deck that we spent half of our trip hanging out on. Great for our doggy too. Our only knock (very minor) was the highway noise can get pretty loud. Very minor considering all the other positives.

We would book again

Great location to the resort across the street, but you definitely need 4x4 in the winter. We liked how it was tucked away from the condos and the kids made their own sled paths down the hill. Glad to have the fire wood provided, because the thermostat was hard-set and you couldn’t adjust it. Loved having the heaters in the bathroom and the tower fans in each room. The management team was quick to respond. We appreciated the hospitality kitchen and bathroom toiletries boxes. The place was clean, and I was glad they had completely drained and refilled the hot tub prior to our arrival. The bath towels are a bit rough, and we could’ve used some kitchen towels to help tidy and dry the dishes, because there isn’t a dishwasher or dry rack. Overall it was great for the 6 of us.

Right across street from Purg

The Durango Collection just might be the best property manager I’ve ever seen. They were immediately responsive when I called to tell them the downstairs shower water wasn’t getting warm. They sent maintenance and plumbers out in awful weather to fix it for us! The house is in a great location, right across from the Purgatory entrance. Ya still have to drive to ski, but it’s a quick trip. My only complaint would be that the master (king) bedroom doesn’t have a private bath. You have to walk out of the room into the general area across the hall to use the bathroom there. It’s a little odd, but we managed just fine. The fire is lovely, and they provide a ton of firewood. We were there during an epic snowstorm, and it was wonderful!
