Come relax at the Lazy Turtle with your family, pets included. Enjoy our sun soaked living room. Sip coffee or wine on our deck while listening to the sound of waves from the Gulf across the street. Near to all the attractions of Gulf Shores and Orange Beach but far enough away from the crowds to enjoy your own piece of paradise.

It has 3 bedrooms and 2 full baths and is conveniently located to restaurants, shopping, parks and is across the street from the beach. Home offers nice furnishings, vaulted ceilings throughout and a charming beach décor. The living room is open and spacious with plentiful natural light. Windows with interior shutters that display the beautiful view with a door leading out to the spacious newly constructed deck. The kitchen has a breakfast bar that can seat 4 people plus a full dining area. The house has every kitchen item we could think of!

Comfortably Sleeps 8 (total) and has covered parking plus a nice sunny deck for your outdoor enjoyment. We even include a dog crate for your four legged family members and a high chair and Pack N Play (Please check all equipment before use, we provide this as a convenience only without acceptance of liability. We are unable to verify the condition of these items between guests.). Make this your vacation home away from home!

In addition, we provide a 'starter' supply of bath and hand soaps, toilet paper, paper towels, laundry and dishwasher soap and garbage bags. Full linens and towels (including beach towels) are provided and a full size washer/dryer is conveniently located in the hall for your use.

Location was great! Very close to beach. House was very clean. First house we stayed at that didn’t have beach chairs but I knew that ahead of time. We enjoyed our stay.

The location is wonderful. Right next to a public beach access, water is in view from the living room everything you would want for just across the street from the beach. Size is what you expect, plenty of room for a family or a couple of couple friends sharing a home. The only negative is the property is showing its age a little bit, but well worth the money.

Was slightly concerned about a pet friendly home due to allergies but the house was super clean and had no issues at all. The location is a very close walk to the beach and easy access to everything you need. Lori is an amazing host and quick to respond to any questions. Will definitely stay here again!

The house was nice. It needs updating. The carpet had many pet stains throughout. The shower is small and difficult to use. The furniture is adequate but could be more comfortable. The furniture in the dining area is not comfortable. The kitchen was adequately stocked. One of the rockers on the deck was broken. It would be nice if beach chairs and umbrellas were provided. The communications could have been more peronally proactive and engaging. Despite these comments, we enjoyed the stay and will consider that property again in the future.

Unfortunately we weren't aware of these concerns until after you checked out—had we known during your stay, we would have worked to address them right away. Please know that your comments are genuinely helpful, and we're taking them to heart. You're absolutely right that some updates are due. We've already had the carpets professionally deep-cleaned to address the pet stains, and we're reviewing the dining and living room furniture to see what improvements we can make. We were surprised to hear about the broken rocker on the deck, as it was a newer Polywood piece—but these things happen, and it's already being repaired. Since taking over the home in 2022, improving it has been a gradual process that we've taken great pride in. Your point about communication is well taken. We should share a little context: we're not a management company or rental agency—we're a family that offers our home for rental part of the year and uses it personally the rest of the time. We were traveling ourselves with limited email access during your visit, which is why we were a little extra quiet at the time. That said, we're putting steps in place to check in more proactively going forward. Thank you again for your thoughtful review and for giving us the opportunity to improve. We'd be delighted to host you again, and we're confident your next stay will be even better.

Great location & comfortable home

Check-in process was very easy & communication with homeowner was great. Beds & living area were comfortable. It was extremely easy to walk across street for beach access & there’s an outdoor shower to get the sand off. The only issue we had was it seemed that the dishwasher wasn’t getting things clean, but we just hand washed & it was fine. Overall a great place to stay & would stay there again.

Sibling Reunion

Every year my brothers and I get together for a few days. This year we chose Gulfshores as the destination. The house was great for 3 couples. The beds were all comfortable and there was ample seating in the living room and dining room. The kitchen had plenty of plates, cups, pans and utensils. I expected there to be spices or foil or bags, because in all the other houses I’ve rented these are items that are left in the house by previous guests. I’m not sure if no other guests left things or someone took them. Either way, if you plan on cooking with more than salt and pepper bring your own spices.

The lazy turtle was just right

Short 3 min walk to the beach. The master bed was great. The spare rooms mattresses were not as comphy. No streaming on TV's unless you sign into your own accounts. Kitchen had all that you needed minus salt and pepper. Washer and dryer were fantastic. Plenty of seating. Sad the deck wasnt covered because it rained a bit every day. The property owner was super accommodating when i asked about a charcoal grill...she had one delivered the next day. 😊. Sad that there were no boogie boards or chairs or umbrellas for the beach left

Family trip

The location was great and plenty of room to spread out. However, there could definitely be some updating. The recliner is completely torn up and doesn’t recline and it hurts to sit on because of the tears in the “leather.” Most of the dishes that were in the cabinets had dried food on them. We quickly realized the dishwasher does not get dishes clean. The outdoor shower did not work and the grill definitely could use replacing. We did love that there were fans in all the rooms. Overall it was a nice place, just needs some updates and maintenance

Communication: The hostess communicated prior to check-in, throughout our stay and upon departure and even after checking out- when we thought we forgot something. Check-in/out: Easy! and the instructions were sent well in advance along with all expectations/requirements upon checkout. The house: It was perfect for our family and had everything we needed (and more) for cooking in and enjoying our family vacation. Parking: The parking/garage layout was perfect since we brought our boat and had 2 vehicles. Loved the home and the colorful, happy vibe and that it was so close to the beach!

Great experience overall. The place was ready earlier than expected and no issues with communication. Our access to the beach was great and the place was perfect for our family. We enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back.

It was wonderful and enjoyed the location very much! Super close to beach access!! Quiet at night! Relax full stay! Kid & pet friendly too!

We've vacationed in Gulf Shores/Orange Beach our entire lives. We knew we wanted to find a home away from home here but never found the right spot. We stayed at this property and never wanted to leave. We're thrilled to share it with seasonal renters.

We take special care of the property because we use it often as a family. We gave it a facelift in April 2022 for a fresh look for the summer season. Close enough to the action to enjoy all the amenities of Gulf Shores and Orange Beach but far enough away from the crowds to spread out and enjoy the beach.
