This private oceanfront condo is on the second floor of the south side of the building ...about 25 steps along the pathway leads to the gem of south Maui, Keawakapu Beach!

Keawakapu Beach, located on the south shore of Maui, Hawaii, is known for its stunning natural beauty and tranquil atmosphere. This picturesque beach is a favorite spot for locals and return visitors and features soft golden sand, clear waters, and lush greenery surrounding the area. It's a great spot for families to swim, snorkel, and sunbathe, and watch the sun set at the end of the day.

Keawakapu beach is a walkable, swimmable, sandy-bottom beach, great for snorkeling and paddle boarding. Enormous living/dining area with wrap-around lanai, one bedroom with king bed, 2 full baths, Venetian tile, flat screen TV, Wi-Fi Internet, mahogany cabinets, kitchen features cork floor and granite countertops. All stays include on parking space, shared coin-op laundry facilities, and no resort fees. 7 night minimum stay. At this beachfront property we provide beach towels, beach chairs, and a beach cooler. We suggest renting beach toys (such as a beach umbrella, snorkel gear, paddle boards, boogie boards, etc) from one of the many rental companies on Maui.

Hale Hui Kai is a beloved location among first time visitors and repeat guests. There is a small shared oceanfront pool next to the common area covered lanai, which is equipped with comfortable lounge space for guests to enjoy when you need a break from the Maui sun.

There was a "ditch" on both sides of the mattress after laying on it for a couple of hours. Otherwize, "best bang for the bucks"!

Lanai time is very pleasurable with an expansive view of the beach and coastal rocks. Sunsets are impossible to miss. Bed was comfortable. Plenty of unpacking space. Liked that there was no carpet. Just vinyl flooring. Easy to clean sand from. Need a better vacuum or dust mop system. Broom and dust pan? A rug at the entry door would be helpful for sand. It would be nice to have complimentary laundry detergent. Laundry facility is very easy to use , No Quarters! Kitchen needs work. Knives were dangerously dull, no storage ware, it’s like they needed to just start over. One drawer came off its runners several times. Freezer had a frost issue.Just needs updating. Furnishings were nice. If you need to have quiet to sleep bring ear plugs, the surf is a constant. The ocean doesn’t stop. All in all it was a lovely stay and we will be back.

The Best Yet!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: My husband and I have stayed at Hale Hui Kai in other rental condos and #212 is by far the best. The location and the panoramic view was fabulous! When we arrived at #212, I was so happy that the flooring had been upgraded from carpeting to laminate. It only makes sense to have tile and laminate flooring in a beachside condo. The kitchen was well stocked and it even had a coffee grinder. I love my freshly ground coffee in the morning and with the view of the beach and ocean it couldn't be better. There isn't air-conditioning but we were able to manage the multiple fans and the breeze to give us a comfortable temperature. I must say my husband and I can tolerate heat well. The vacation rental management staff on site and off were very helpful and pleasant to deal with. However, there was a mix-up with a new maintenance person who was sent to #212 to check on some lights that we didn't complain about. We found him leaving #212 while we were coming back from an outing. He explained why he was there but the problem was we weren't notified in advance and his being in the condo while we were gone made us feel very uncomfortable with the situation. Brandon, the pool and the grounds maintenance person quickly looked into our concerns and got back to us to assure us everything was okay and apologized for the mix-up. We appreciated his care for our concerns and his quickly looking into what happened when it wasn't really his responsibility to do so. Thank you, Brandon! It will be difficult to stay in any other condo at Hale Hui Kai if we can't get #212 in the future.

Only one issue was can opener was broken but the property managers ( Jason and Jess Bello) took care of it immediately and brought us a new one. The pool area definitely needs a little refurbishing and sure that will happen eventually. The property managers also host a doughnut and coffee get together on Wednesday mornings and we get to meet and interact with other people from other units which makes it easy to meet new people staying there and renew friendships with people we see every year. Very unique.

I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Love the location of Hale Hui Kai and the spacious main living room of Unit #212 was lovely. You can't beat the view of Keawakapu Beach and the sand is superb. Couch and chair upholstery in this unit need a cleaning. We had to personally clean the window screen in the bathroom off the bedroom with a broom as at least a quarter of an inch of dust and dirt had accumulated, blocking all air flow. Shower floors need a professional clean. We did not get a full good night's rest for the 7 nights of our stay, due to the condition of the king bed mattress and the lack of air flow in the bedroom even though 3 fans were going. The outside building light shines into the bedroom, and you can't close the sliding door or you block all air flow. The Hawaiin blinds off the bedroom need attention. One slat is not working.

Water alarm was going off and hot water heater was leaking. No welcome book with helpful information as we have enjoyed in the past at previous vacation rentals. Contacted Bello realty; and clean up crew arrived and plumber arrived within a few hours from our arrival. Hot water heater was not replaced until two days later. Carpet is matted and stained and not a good choice for beach rental.

We made meals and sat out on our lanai and just soaked in all the beauty or walked down to the beach or pool. It was perfection. The only issue was low water pressure in the might be that way to conserve water, but to wash long hair and in general it took longer, but got used to it.
