Lake house getaway
Our family of 4 (kids 9/13) stayed for 6 nights. The house, as listed, is literally feet off a main road and you can hear cars passing at night in upper bedroom. Problem if you are a light sleeper. You can also very much hear traffic from the backyard, just an FYI if you are looking for a quiet getaway, you will hear cars/trucks. The AC listed is a rolling one only located upstairs. The downstairs does not have one and the doors to the outside do not have a screen so you cannot open for draft/air without letting bugs in. There were no washcloths available and the washer/dryer in the pictures are no longer there, FYI for packing purposes. The hot water tank is small - only got 1 hot shower in before running cold. We loved the outside shower option, don't mess around in the small inside one! A bundle of wood was provided, but you'll need to bring newspaper/kindling to start fire. One of the kayaks had a broken seat which made kayaking doable but difficult. Overall, had a decent stay, a few small upgrades would make it a five star visit (screen on downstairs door, washcloths provided, AC option downstairs). Appreciated the grocery store and McDonald's close by. You can find bait at the corner yellow store (gas station/smoke shop). Steve was very fast to respond to messages and answer house questions.
