The Space: Modern rustic log cabin with a hot-tub, spa-tub, gas fireplace, and brand new deck. The cabin is very homey with an open and inviting living room space, a master bedroom and bathroom downstairs along with an open loft upstairs that has a bed and half bath. Both bedrooms have queen sized beds and TV’s in them with streaming capabilities and free high speed internet. There is also a washer and dryer located in the downstairs bedroom closet for your convenience as well as a steamer and an iron/ironing board. The kitchen has a drip coffee maker as well as a Keurig and you can enjoy your morning cup of coffee out on the wooden rocking chairs or swing while watching the sunrise. The cabin is located on a winding road with nice mountain views which is great to look at while relaxing in the hot tub after a long day of hiking the Smoky Mountains! ⛰
Guest Access: The Lazy Bear is conveniently located in between Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge, with quick access to Dollywood, Sevierville, and the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. About an hour outside of Knoxville and the McGee Tyson Airport (TYS) ✈️
Where You’ll Be: The cabin is located in a subdivision called Sky Harbor which is a prime location and not far from the Great Smoky Mountains National Park! Just a quick drive to Pigeon Forge or Gatlinburg…this lovely resort features wooded settings, creeks, and ponds. “Where Luxury Meets the Mountains". 🍁
Getting Around: When leaving Sky Harbor, connecting to the Spur gives you a scenic drive either heading north to Pigeon Forge or south to Gatlinburg-a few miles either way. In Pigeon Forge you can avoid Parkway traffic by looking for Teaster Lane running parallel on the east side. This will take you up to the Island at the north end of town. 🚗
Other things to Note: The cabin is in the woods so you may see/hear critters and/or bears and the trash must be placed in the bear proof trash bins. You should take all food out of your cars and lock your doors to prevent any bear break-ins. 🐻
Gas fireplace is turned off from May 1st-Oct 1st. 🔥
The cabin does have a very narrow STEEP driveway that is only meant to fit up to two vehicles. Four-wheel drive and/or chains are recommended in the winter for getting around the Sky Harbor neighborhood. If it is your first time driving in a mountainous area, you may want to plan on arriving to the cabin while it is still light out. After the initial drive up, it gets much easier! It is also recommended to route where you're going prior to leaving the cabin and before heading back to the cabin due to the spotty cell service in the mountains but we promise it will all be worth it :)
