Travel down a charming, privately gated drive to escape in our lakefront retreat! Enjoy the entire house tucked away on the shoreline of Lake James. Our 4BR/3.5BA sits on a wooded ridge and offers lovely views of two main channels, along with Mount Mitchell and Short Off Mountain. Relax on the decks, in the screened porch or by the outdoor fireplace and see some of the best sunsets around! The private dock offers space to keep a rented boat.
**The owner has a 25ft Bennington pontoon available for an additional daily fee of $450 or ask about a weekly discount. This rental is separate from the Vrbo booking. Ask the agent to refer you to the boat contact where you can discuss exact pricing.**

The gated community is privately maintained and roads must be shared. This is a one lane road with turnouts and directional signs for owners. Directions will be supplied prior to arrival date. We recommend that, in Winter months, guests check weather conditions prior to booking and drive appropriate vehicles.
The home's layout is very spacious and offers two levels of living space. The main level offers a den off the entryway with lake views, a large bedroom with 2 beds to one side, and 2 additional bedrooms on the other side. There are 2 full hall baths on this level, one is ensuite.
The upper level has a large open floor plan with the kitchen, dining, and living room. This level has open long range lake views as well. The screen porch is off the dining room and offers lake and mountain views. The master bedroom is on the upper level with a full ensuite bath. The half bath is located off the kitchen and dining area. The laundry is on this level behind closed doors off the kitchen. There are lake views from almost every room of this home and plenty of exterior areas to enjoy just hanging out and relaxing.

*We just completed an internet upgrade to StarLink.* Our community is remote, gated, and on a private road, so we do not have established portals available to us at this time. This is a common issue around Lake James. If you need to stream, please disconnect all other devices so that you have the strongest signal possible.

Lake James is conveniently located between Charlotte and Asheville, NC. We are about an hour from regional/international airports if needed. We are close to Old Fort, Black Mountain, Banner Elk, Beech Mountain, Boone, and Blowing Rock. We are in the back yard of Linville Gorge where there are many trails to hike, mountain bike trails, kayaking, and other nearby attractions. Just ask your host about things to do.
