This quiet and serene riverfront house is the perfect setting for a family, nature lovers, fishermen, anniversaries, friends retreats, honeymooners, a girls weekend, etc. Newly remodeled in 2018, we can sleep up to 12. Located just a couple of miles outside of Elkhorn, Nebraska and directly on the Elkhorn River, this is a river-front loving, kayaking, tubing, sand-bar strolling, and fishermans haven! Local restaurants, shopping and other big city amenities in Elkhorn, Omaha and Waterloo are within a few minutes drive.

Great house with large space for fun outside. The river behind the house is fun for kids to play in, and private yard for games. Comfortable beds, and clean home. Very fun space for group!

Peace like a river

My family was in town for a family reunion. This was a wonderful, cozy, and peaceful home to stay at. I live about 10mins away and after I say the riverside home I was tempted to stay and let my guests have my home Thank you so much for a wonderful place

Great river house

Very comfortable stay at the river lodge. Big deer, turkeys, and even a beaver were spotted. Cozy and quiet with plenty of room to stretch out.

Adorable place!

We LOVED spending two nights in this adorable river home! The space is huge and decorated so well. We spend a moms weekend there but definitely would go back with our kids. They have everything there thay you need and communication with the owner was amazing

Great weekend getaway

This was a great property to have a weekend getaway with friends! We loved the beautiful view of the lake! The house was clean and very comfortable to stay in. We would highly recommend this property. We loved that it was close to downtown Omaha to be able to do things there, but had beautiful outdoor space to enjoy. We would stay here again :)

Annual Summer Family Vacation

For the past 10 years my family and I pick different cities for our family vacation. We always stay in a VRBO that will sleep at least 12. All enjoyed our stay here - many things for the children to do inside/outside. This is a fabulous place to stay and we all decided it was our favorite property throughout the 10 years.

Can’t beat that view!

This was a perfect getaway spot for my family when we were in Waterloo NE for a wedding. This amazing property was close to the wedding venue and also felt like a private and peaceful space to relax and rejuvenate when we had downtime to ourselves. Our daily sights of deer, wild turkeys and other beautiful creatures along with the pristine view of the Elkhorn River, made this entire VRBO experience one of our all-time favorites!

Girls 50th high school reunion getaway. Wonderful choice!! So much fun being by the river!

Fabulous facilities and peaceful environment. You can watch wild turkeys and deer as they stroll by. Provides everything you could ever need and more with the exception of bath face washcloths. Could use more. We were thrilled with our choice and would highly recommend it for family reunions!

We had friends visiting from out of town for reunion events. It was the perfect spot to sit and catch up, and have everyone stay together. The property had a great view of the river, was beautifully kept. The hosts were very helpful and made the process extremely easy. Several guests said that they’d like to book this property in warmer months to take advantage of the river access. Highly recommend!!

Relaxing

The property was far enough from the city to be relaxing but close enough to be convenient. The wildlife was expressive. On Thanksgiving morning a herd of about 20 turkeys crossed. The property. Pretty cool. Nice house, enjoyable stay.

SUPER holiday getaway

Our host was super at communication, the house was easy to access and we felt right at home from the minute we walked in. We enjoyed coffee watching the wildlife near the river (turkeys, deer, and a beaver!), and of course used the wonderful fire pit to roast s'mores. With an 18 month old, safety is key, and the house was kiddo proof, making it relaxing despite having a little one. With family living in Omaha, we will very likely rent this again when in town to visit.

Weekend getaway

There was so much room to spread out! Several bedrooms upstairs, and the bunk room had 5 beds to chose from! Bathroom/shower upstairs and downstairs. Sufficient kitchen supplies for all of our cooking needs, and we cooked several meals at the house. The house is at the end of the lane and felt secluded which we liked! The view of the river was so peaceful! Great communication with the owner. Overall it was great!

Questionable Location, but a nice surprise

The house was great, the only issue was the trash and food left behind by previous guests. We wanted to throw it all away because of the kids but didn’t. We weren’t sure if those items belonged to the home owner. She was in constant contact at the beginning and at the end and always responded.

Unfortunate cigarette smell

While this property would have been an ok place to stay, there was a distinct cigarette smell inside the property when we arrived and five minutes later we left the property and did not continue with our stay. I'm certain the past renters created this problem, not the owner, but we were only refunded $110 dollars out of $2,000 and the owner continually said the property did not smell. Myself and two other crew members on our team disagreed and had to find lodging in a nearby town last minute. If they get the cigarette smell out of the property it would be an ok place to stay. Vrbo was not able to refund us any money as they said it was up to the owner to decide. So hard to prove a smell with a phone camera, so we, the renters, were out of luck here.

Let me start with this house was, is & always has been a nonsmoking home. We have never had one person in the two years of renting it say they have smelled anything of the sort so it was shocking to hear this from her. We responded within minutes of the renters complaint. Me, my husband & my teenage daughter went over there immediately but they were gone. None of us smelled any smoke. We then asked a neighbor over & they smelled nothing but laundry detergent & cleaner in the house. We then proceeded to open all the windows, bring in two air purifiers, change the AC filters & clean the AC unit to clear whatever smell the renter didn’t care for. I tried for days to get a hold of her, sending countless messages, to see if the house was then to her liking & she never came back or responded the whole rental week! We spent hundreds of dollars to try to appease her nose & she only respond a week after checkin to say that she was “too busy” to respond & that she wanted a full refund. Vrbo & I talked it out & they said she sounded like a scammer that wanted out of her rental commitment at the last minute and made up something to try to get a refund.

Family Christmas

Our stay was better than expected. We loved the cleanliness and openness of the home. We flew in from Florida to host Christmas Day with our Nebraska kids and grandkids. The views from the living room were picturesque. I would highly recommend this location. And Julie’s communication was prompt and very helpful.
