It was lovely!! Very clean!! And comfortable! The only downside was we couldn’t figure out how to fold the hide a bed (couch) back up!!! They pretty much had everything we needed from dishes, coolers to beach towels. Thank you for a wonderful visit!! We would surely come back!! Nicole & Tina

Great location! Love this complex! Condo was exactly as portrayed in the listing. Had all the little extras needed such as hand soap, dish soap, tp, paper towels etc so we didn’t have to buy and it lasted for the entire 10 day stay. Eye cozy. The description mentions traffic noise since it backs up to Kuakini but it was not bad at all.

Having never been to Kona before, we took a chance on a condo found on line. Kona Pacific, unit E633, turned out to be an excellent decision. It was close to the downtown area where we had a wide range of eating, shopping, and entertainment choices, all within easy walking distances.The condo itself was very well stocked and clean, which made for an easy adjustment after 13 hours of travel. Compared to other options it was a great value and made a positive impression on my wife and I for our 2 week stay.

Location was perfect!! Might want to get new towels, the ones there are white and you can see the stains on them. I think they might be doing renovations because some of the cabinets looked new. They might want to leave an air freshener so it won’t smell bad. I also thought it was a 2 room condo. That might have been on me, but I thought it was a 2 bedroom condo.

I am so sorry that you did not enjoy your stay! This is a one bedroom unit, and is advertised as such. Sorry you missed that.
I opened up and looked at every single towel. Most of the towels are brand new, and I could not find a single one with stains or in need of retiring.
I also could not detect any dog smell. However, a recent previous guest did have an unauthorized dog in there. He relocated the dog upon request. Even though I was unable to pick up any dog smell (everyone has a different sensitivity to odors), I will be having the carpets professionally cleaned next week, just to make sure it isn't a problem moving forward. We really appreciate you bringing it to our attention.
Finally, YES! we just completely remodeled the master bathroom and replaced the vanity in the guest bath.. The kitchen was previously remodeled, and the living room furniture was updated within the last year.

Great Complex, condo needs updating
We have stayed at Kona Pacific many times and enjoyed it. This condo needs updating for sure. The carpet is ancient, the bathtub drains plugged up, molding needs to be tightened up to keep roaches in their place. It needs a new fridge so the ice cube machine and water filter work and it needs a new washer so nobody gets cut on the rusting water spout. They need an AC that actually cools the air in the living room. The property manager was totally great about our problems and helped when she could. That said, the one big problem with this condo is that it has a busy highway about 20 feet from the lanai which made that usually wonderful space totally un-usable due to noise.

We stayed at Kona Pacific unit E633 for 2 weeks in January 2016. The unit was as described. It was clean, easy to access, the pool was great. Regarding the noise on the lanai, we felt it was no more than would be expected for an urban balcony. We used it daily and found it very comfortable and convenient. The only issue was the DVD and the TV remote – operation. We could not get the DVD to work; it would be good to have some detailed instructions. The TV remote seemed to be related to the battery compartment. We replaced the batteries but it still only worked intermittently. We would definitely stay in this complex in the future.

It needed updated, the washing machine and dryer didn't work properly, (Was rusted and dryer only worked on high) and the road that faced the condo had traffic going by continually so we couldn't use the Lina. TV was hard to use as noisy. I tried to go ahold of the property office as one of the cupboard doors would't close so we had put tape on to close. Wasn't well stocked we had to buy essential things needed.. We have had success in renting for yrs and we would not use the Property outfit again. Disappointed with condo and Property people. They're office is in Hilo... hr away. When did get ahold of them it said Hilo

Yes, the washer/dryer does need to be replaced because it is older and could be in better condition. It is actually next on the list. However, I have not had anyone complain that it didn't work effectively. Thank you for letting me know.
You tried and DID get a hold of us regarding the cupboard doors. When I sent my handyman over, he could find no problem.
The TV went out, and we were there within 24 hours with a new one. TVs are good right up until they aren't. There are seldom warning signs.
Our office is in Kona. In fact, our office is within walking distance to the condo you rented. We do not have a Hilo branch. Many phones here (on Big Island) ping off towers in Hilo. That doesn't mean that is where they are physically.
And finally, if you don't want to listen to traffic noise, don't rent a unit that is located on a busy road in the center of town.

Property needs attention
Pros-Close to DT Kona and Coconut Grove/kitchen is well equipped/pool is nice/good parking/managers are responsive and will fix immediate problems.
Cons-Bedroom and living area are is dark-overhead lighting and fan needed/mattresses are uncomfortable/refrigerator leaks-signs of rust/washing machine is rusted through/lots of traffic noise-even with A/C on. There is no storage drawers or shelves for your stuff-the place is filled with the owner's belongings. Heavy Fibreez odor on arrival. Walls dirty and old nails/hangers-needs painting/loose chair leg on one chair needs tightening/remote control for rear gate does not work.
CAUTION: The walkway out front has no height transition from concrete to tiles-significant tripping hazard!!

Loved my stay at this condo! Location was great, place was clean and had everything we needed. Management team was awesome! Lanai had Mountain View’s! Lanai is on a road so does get loud during gravey traffic times but was also peaceful and quiet for an early breakfast or late diner! Thanks for an amazing trip! We will be back soon!

Perfect location
The condo is within a walking distance from dining, shopping, and a beach, yet, it is not right in the middle of crowds. While plenty of visitors walk around in the town, it does not have a resort feel of places further north - so it gives more of a natural experience. Still, all beaches are accessible if there is desire to visit them. The property itself is nice and comfortable: sheets are immaculate white, the living room is comfortable, the kitchen is fully equipped. The only area of improvement I would add is bathroom tubs. I think they need good scrubbing. But towels, rugs, carpets and everything else are clean and give a feel of a *mostly* well maintained place to stay.

A little crusty
Great place with rough edges.
Master bathroom door will not close, bathroom plumbing in repair. Be prepared for the traffic noise on the Lanai. Leaky toilet in second bath, ancient fridge and stove.
New carpet and tile, however. Helpful management (handyman entered without permission when I was on the noisy lanai,{thought I was out}) and sweet neighbors.
Master bedroom could house two queen beds, but has a coffee table arrangement instead? This was an unfortunate inconvenience, as my son had to stay in the living room on an air bed . I recommend fixing this!
The bedding is old and stained, the mattress has a summit in the middle which shepards the sleeper right off the bed. Get a new one!
Nice office desk in bedroom! You should move it to the living area. 2 Beach chairs, 1 surf board, 2 body boards were provided! How nice.
Large space! Ideal for 2 couples, but not laid out properly for it. No hand soap, make sure to have.
On the whole we were very satisfied. Great location to access the beach and town.
Beware your rental summary (very nice on the whole) has 2 pages on "Checking Out" that are separated from each other and differ. I only saw the second page that checkout day which said kitchen towels needed to be washed so I raced to do this by 11 AM.
The rental agreement needed 3 signatures and 11 initials, felt like I was buying the place! Ridiculous.
Once again, I enjoyed my stay, but invest in some simple fixes and you'll have happier guests.
