This beautifully decorated condominium offers a King bed and triple dresser in the master bedroom with a spacious master bath, a Queen-sized sleeper sofa in the living room, and a set of Twin bunk beds.

The TV's throughout this condo are flat screen and large. The living room tv is a 60 in smart tv with blu ray player, the bunkroom has a separate tv w/DVD for each bunk and the master has a 50in flat smart tv. So when you come in from the beach or the lazy river you can relax in your bed or on the sofa and enjoy your favorite shows on a large flat screen tv.

The open floor plan offers a fully equipped kitchen, dining table with seating for six, and four bar stools. Dine outside on your patio table for four if you prefer! There is a private gas grill on the rooftop above the unit. You may also prefer to sun bath up on the roof, too! The views of the ocean and bay are unlike most other units at Destin West. Your living area leads you to a tropical paradise and private convenient beach access is available.

Destin West Beach & Bay Resort is a beautiful community featuring some of the most spectacular views of the Emerald Coast. Destin West beaches offer secluded sugar-white sands with activities for the whole family. Relax by the Gulf-side pool, soak in one of the whirlpool spas, or enjoy an amazing sunset and watch as the Lazy River transforms into a beautiful array of light. Our stay was average. Proximity to the beach was nice and the pool area was nice with the lazy river and hot tubs. The bunk bedroom was very misleading. It was tiny, with hardly any room for luggage/storage. No closet, so not technically considered a bedroom. The master closet was full of items on the floor, so not much space for guests to store there either. The condo can sleep 6 people, but really is only suitable for a family given the bunk room setup. Not sure if our unit was cleaned before arrival. The floors were very dirty. Our feet were black on the bottom after just a couple hours of being there. Guests do not have access to the fitness room, which was disappointing. Kitchenware was mediocre (worn and minimal). The patio area was nice overlooking the pool. Rooftop views were pretty cool, but furniture up there was pretty worn. Destin overall was a great place to visit, but not sure if we’d stay at this specific location again.

I booked this property for a girls trip, and we truly had such a wonderful time. The property was in the same condition as listed. We did not encounter any issues during our stay. We loved the amenities, and the beach was only maybe a five minute walk. Would definitely stay here again!

Short Family Vacation

This was our first stay at this complex and it was awesome. The location of the condos is perfect. Everything went well. The only thing I would say is we were not sure if there was beach gear at the condo we stayed in so we brought our own which took up some space in the vehicle. Turned out there was some stuff in the condo. Had we known, we could have saved some packing space. No harm, no foul though.Clean factor: I gave it a 4, merely due to the floor being somewhat dirty, but everything else seemed to be in order.

Perfect location for get away, walkable to beach, close to crab island and downtown Destin. Apartment was clean, would be great location for couple with small children or couple get away. We did a mother daughter trip and worked out perfect!

Month at Destin West

This was our four stay at Destin West but none since 2021. We absolutely loved our unit on the penthouse. The view was amazing. The unit had new appliances and was well cared for. It was super easy to work with both the owner and management team..

Yearly Stay

This is our 8th year staying as Destin West. 1st time in Pelican. We have stayed Sand Piper all previous years. View was great, room was comfy and clean. We had minor issue where the stove element wasnt working. We reached out to the numbers provided and did get quick response that it may have to be serviced by the appliance company. It did not get fixed during our stay but I am hopeful that it will be soon since they are aware. Overall great trip! Thanks for the stay!

Great location for a family!

We all enjoyed our stay and the kids loved the pools and beach. The property was similar to the pictures, was some wear and tear, pictures seemed from when it was brand new or newly painted. The 2nd room didn't have any storage, only bunk beds. Overall a great place!

Not Like The Pictures

My first impression when I walked in after seeing the place was—-this is ok, but not what I would expect in a “penthouse” suite. The floors were dirty, the fridge requires manipulation to shut and it remains off center, the baseboards and walls need painted, the shower curtain in the master is dirty and has rust around the holes to hang it, there is paint peeling on the cabinet in the second bathroom, the bunk beds are old and need painted, the tv in the bottom bunk does not work, the one at the top has a terrible picture when on, the couch is dirty (we had to put down a blanket just to sit on it), both chairs are dirty and also require a blanket to sit on them, the water pressure in the kitchen is so minimal, there was brown water coming out of the faucets, showers and toilets (called to report this and was told it was a city issue). I never felt comfortable for our entire stay and would not recommend this unit. We’ve stayed at this resort before and the condo we stayed in was way better and less expensive. I’m very disappointed and wish we had spent our hard earned vacation money elsewhere.

Great location Beautiful view of pool/lazy river, harbor area Lazy River was very relaxing Comfortable bed Really nice and convenient overpass bridge to get from bayside to gulfside and vice versa Couch and couch pillows very dirty and smelly Entry door to unit was difficult to push open (sounded like rubber strip is dragging?) Curtains in living room are really stained all over the back side Elevators are super fast Nice garage area to park Be aware that the lazy river operation system has a loud, buzzing sound at all times Our time was great and the negative things listed about the unit are ALL things that can be easily changed or updated.

Absolutely amazing

Came down for a spring break vacation with my wife & 3 kids and we had an AMAZING time. We stayed in the penthouse in the Pelican building and would absolutely stay here again. Amazing views, very comfortable beds, lots of room. Everything was perfect. Definitely giving a five star review and would highly recommend staying here.

Excellent Property with great views, both bay or beach side, with wonderful amenities

Everything was great except for dirty floors. Bottom of our feet with or without socks were always dirty. We enjoyed our stay, as this is our 3rd time to visit, but each vacation was a different condo unit. The views are amazing both bay or beach side. The access to both is a plus and the amenities are wonderful. Highly recommend Destin Bay and Beaxh Side Properties. Will return in the near future.

This is a great place to stay. The amenities are great and it is only a short walk to the beach. The place itself has wonderful views and everything you need is in the condo. Any questions I had was answered quickly and they were great to work with. I would highly recommend staying here!

Great Location-near the board walk-Probably wouldn't stay in this unit again.

Location of unit was excellent. However, it would have been nice if the owner left a guide to the area and the best way to access the beach. It took us until Wednesday to realize there was an easier way to navigate the beach and have quick access to the boardwalk, to cool off or get a snack. We decided taking the bridge was cumbersome. Once you get down the elevator, up the elevator to the bridge and down the elevator on the other side across the next property and out to the beach you realize there has to be a better more direct way. We also didn't want to pay $40.00 to rent chairs especially since we brought our own beach supplies. We found the best most direct route was to drive to the board walk and park. This gives you straight access to the beach and lands you right near the board walk. We did walk up and down the beach and get in the ocean, of course, but being near the boardwalk was the best way. We also didn't realize until the last day the itinerary of what was planned each day of the week. We finally saw a sign facing the parking lot at the end of the board walk in the middle of Floyds. So they do movies on Tuesday, Fireworks on Weds and something else on Thursday, but we missed all that since we didn't know about them. We did figure out the fireworks when we heard them going off, but we had already returned to the condo. We tried to go to miramar and Destin, but didn't have any luck there. All the beach parking was full and we couldn't get to any of the restaurants on the beach. Again, if the owners had left some tips and places they like to go, we could have probably avoided this. So we didn't go back. We just went to the beach every day, went to the pools and went back to the beach in the evening. We did do a dolphin boat ride, but after we heard them talk about crab island, we wished we would have done that instead. The owners could have left/given all this info. We are from Ohio. How were we supposed to know. The unit is very small. Much smaller than the pictures. the oven was dirty, the couch and cushions are stained. One of the elevators did break down while we were there. Someone got stuck in elevator #1 for 2 hrs. We had issues with elevator #2. It made loud noises and wouldn't go up or down. But at least we were able to get out. We called beach getaways and they asked us what we wanted them to do about it. They don't run the building. Seriously! That's your answer. They weren't helpful.

Fun Condo! Biggest Pool ever!

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This condo was nice. Rooms were decorated well and smelled clean upon entering. I did notice however it seems they forget about dusting, there was a lot of dust on the light fixtures and wooden blinds, and also the rug seemed really sandy! I did feel like it was sanitized good tho, but the fact we pay so much for a cleaning fee, I would have not liked to be noticing all the dust. Other than that, I just kept flip flops on to avoid the sandy feeling you can’t seem to get away from lol. Shower in master bedroom could use updating & had some drainage issues, but not a deal breaker. The washer and dryer is always a must have. Now the good part!! The view from the balcony was great and from the rooftop even better! We could see the lazy river and pool area and the bay beyond that. I loved being able to lay out and tan in the private on the rooftop. We had a grill, but didn’t use it, but how convenient if we would have. I loved that there was a garage full of “beach necessities” so we were able to bring less from home. People are supposed to rinse things off, but wagons were sandy (some kind of gross). You would think they would appreciate the extra luxury and help keep them clean, but that’s my opinion. The walk to the beach and other huge pool was a good little distance, but not enough to keep us from going everyday. It was also nice that the pool was open til 11pm when your fish child wants to live in the water haha. We had a small issue with our food disposer (our fault) getting stopped up, but maintenance was there within 10 mins. Management is really nice and helpful. I would def stay here again and recommend this place as well. There was a restaurant right next door you could walk to. Wild Willies was right down the road. The location was great. We definitely enjoyed our vacation and hated to leave. September is a nice month to go, hardly anyone there!!

2nd Time at this rental, Love it

We stayed in the same condo in 2015 and now Aug 2021! We absolutely love it. The views are amazing, the location is perfect for beach or bayside activities. Walking distance to plenty of shopping and restaurants with use of the sky bridge. Julie, the property manager is super responsive through booking, arrival/departure info, and any needs during the stay. Pool areas are managed nicely. Condo is cozy and kept clean. Kitchen and bathrooms stocked well. Beach items easily accessed via garage code. We absolutely enjoyed our stays both times! Would love to book a third!
