STAY REQUIREMENTS

During Prime Season, Spring Break and Holidays, Ocean Waves typically rents weekend to weekend with 7-night stays.

During non-prime periods, shorter stays and alternate check-in/check-out days may be available. Please send an INQUIRY before submitting a booking request if you are interested in different dates or a shorter stay.

Check-Out: By 9:00 AM

Because we frequently have same-day guest turnovers, please do not schedule an earlier arrival ferry or later departure ferry unless an early check-in or late check-out has been approved in advance.

The whole-house reverse osmosis system provides quality water throughout the home, so you do not need to bring drinking water unless you prefer to.

Walk from Ocean Waves directly onto the white sugar sand of beautiful Butterfly Beach.

Your own private beach access puts one of North Captiva’s widest Gulf beaches right outside your vacation home.

TRAVELING WITH FRIENDS OR EXTENDED FAMILY?

Ask about renting the adjoining side of this beachfront duplex, Beach Dayz.

Beach Dayz also accommodates up to 4 guests and is dog friendly. When Ocean Waves and Beach Dayz are rented together, the combined beachfront property can accommodate up to 8 guests.

This is a wonderful option for friends or extended family who want to vacation together while enjoying their own private accommodations.

Attention Pilots: Ocean Waves owners also offer guests a Fly-In Guest Pass for the North Captiva airstrip. Please inquire for details.

GETTING AROUND NORTH CAPTIVA

There are no cars on North Captiva Island. Transportation around the island is by foot, bicycle or golf cart.

A golf cart is NOT included with Ocean Waves.

Golf carts are available for rent through Boats and Fun on North Captiva Island, and we recommend reserving one ahead of your stay, particularly during busy seasons.

ABOUT NORTH CAPTIVA ISLAND

North Captiva is an unspoiled remote barrier island located off Southwest Florida in the Gulf of Mexico.

Approximately two-thirds of the island is State Preserve, offering beautiful natural areas and walking trails leading toward the Gulf.

The island is known for its incredible beaches, wildlife, tropical vegetation, world-class shelling, fishing and water activities.

There are restaurants and bars on the island along with Mangos convenience store, Boats and Fun, and additional shopping and services.

Island services may include boat rentals, fishing charters, golf-cart and fat-tire bike rentals, fresh seafood delivery, private chefs, prepared meals, massage services, photography and excursions to Cayo Costa, Boca Grande and Cabbage Key.

Please remember that there is no traditional full-size grocery store on North Captiva, so grocery planning before arrival is important.

GETTING TO NORTH CAPTIVA

North Captiva is accessible only by boat or private plane.

Most guests flying into Southwest Florida arrive at RSW – Southwest Florida International Airport and then travel to Safe Harbor Pineland Marina on Pine Island.

Guests may reach North Captiva by scheduled ferry, private water taxi/charter or their own boat.

For guests using Island Girl Charters, the ferry ride is approximately 30 minutes. Ocean Waves guests commonly arrive at the dock near Mainstay/Barnacles.

The round-trip adult ferry fare is approximately $59.00 plus tax per adult.

Paid overnight car parking at Safe Harbor Pineland Marina is approximately $12.00 per night.

Ferry transportation and marina parking are paid separately by guests and are not included in the Ocean Waves rental rate.

Ferry schedules, availability and pricing can change, so please confirm current information before booking flights and finalizing travel arrangements. During busy periods, ferry times can fill quickly.

Upon arrival on North Captiva, our on-island concierge will assist with transporting you, your luggage and groceries directly to Ocean Waves.

THINGS TO DO ON NORTH CAPTIVA

Enjoy world-class fishing and shelling, miles of white sugar-sand beaches, spectacular sunrises and sunsets, snorkeling, kayaking, biking, swimming and exploring the State Preserve.

Watch for dolphins, manatees, gopher tortoises and native birds and wildlife.

Rent a fishing charter or boat, visit Cabbage Key, explore nearby islands or simply relax on the beach.

North Captiva offers dining at Over the Waterfront in Safety Harbor, Mainstay/Barnacles, Mangos and Anchors Landing.

You’ll also find convenience items, ice cream, specialty foods, gifts and boating supplies on the island.

Boats and Fun offers golf-cart rentals, boat rentals, fishing charters, fat-tire bikes, kayaks, fresh seafood ordering and other island services.

Whatever your idea of an island vacation — adventure, fishing, shelling, boating or simply relaxing — Ocean Waves is a wonderful place to enjoy it.

GROCERIES & ISLAND CONCIERGE

Grocery options include:

• Bring groceries with you on the ferry
• Arrange for a personal shopper
• Have groceries purchased and stocked in Ocean Waves before arrival
• Arrange grocery delivery during your stay

Personal shopping, grocery stocking and similar concierge services may involve additional guest charges.

Our island concierge can also assist with departure at the end of your stay.

IMPORTANT TRAVEL INFORMATION

We strongly recommend purchasing travel insurance.

North Captiva is a remote barrier island, and weather, transportation interruptions, flight delays and other unexpected circumstances can affect travel plans.

Ferry transportation, private charters, marina parking, golf-cart rentals, personal shopping and other third-party services are not included in the Ocean Waves rental rate unless specifically stated otherwise.

SECURITY CAMERAS

In accordance with disclosure requirements, exterior security cameras are located outside the property for security purposes.

One exterior camera faces the beach entrance, and one exterior camera faces the front entrance.

Ocean Waves is professionally managed by Swept Away Realty, Inc., a licensed local property manager with on-island concierge assistance.
