Our Beloved Lake of the Woods Family Cottage



Welcome to our family’s beloved Lake of the Woods cottage — a big, old-fashioned, wonderfully well-loved family cabin in one of the most beautiful spots in Sioux Narrows.



Let’s start with the important stuff: this is not a fancy, polished, Instagram-perfect luxury cottage. She’s old. She’s been well used. She has a few bumps, quirks and “cottage things” that come with a place that has seen a lot of summers, wet bathing suits, sandy feet, fishing stories and family dinners.



And honestly? That’s part of why we love her.



What you’re really coming for is the view, the location, the lake and the space.



With 5 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms and room for up to 12 guests, there’s plenty of room for a big family or group of friends. You can spread out, pile everyone around the table, play games, send the kids off to find something to do, and still have a little corner to yourself when you need it.



The lake is the star of the show. The views are spectacular, and there is something pretty magical about waking up, grabbing a coffee and looking out over Lake of the Woods before the day has even started.



Days are made for swimming, boating, fishing, exploring, relaxing and generally doing as little as possible. Evenings are for sunsets, long dinners, drinks on the deck, card games and the inevitable debate over who is actually going to clean up.



A little cottage honesty:



We want you to know what you’re booking. This is an older, well-loved cottage, not a newly renovated resort. Things may be a little worn around the edges, the décor is decidedly cottage-y, and you may encounter a few things that remind you this place has been around for a while.



But we think there’s something wonderful about that.



You don’t have to worry about the kids tracking in a little sand. You don’t have to whisper around expensive furniture. And nobody needs to panic when someone drops a popsicle.



This is a place to actually relax and enjoy the lake.



So if you’re looking for sleek, modern and brand new, there are probably better choices.



But if you’re looking for a huge old family cottage with an incredible view, a fantastic location, lots of space and the kind of relaxed atmosphere where memories are made, we’d love to share our little piece of Lake of the Woods with you.



Come for the view. Stay for the lake.



And leave with at least one story that starts with,

“Remember that time at the cottage when…?”



The Space:

This lakefront home is set on 1 acre with some of the best views on Lake of the Woods. In addition to a private beach and firepit on the lakeside, it also includes your own playground, complete with a teepee playhouse, and ample parking for you and your guests. The 3,400 sq ft home has a minimalist aesthetic influenced by Malibu beach homes. The three living areas offer plenty of lounging options--one is double height, one has a wood-burning fireplace and the other has floor to ceiling views of the lake. This expansive cabin offers two complete master bedrooms and the other three have an extra sleeping loft.



We are so happy to share our space with people who are looking to use it as a retreat to reconnect with family and friends, but please note that this is not a party rental.



Getting Around:

The cabin is easy to get to and is just off the highway--no endless winding side roads, no boating across to an island. Located an hour past Kenora, this cabin is well worth the drive. Kenora is accessible by boat, and is about an hour's ride.



Other Things to Note:

We are so happy to share our space with guests who are looking to use it as a retreat to reconnect with family and friends, but please note that this is not a party rental.



This location has a noise monitoring device to address potential noise complaints from neighbours.

This device measures only the sound level and does not record private conversations.



There is also a camera located outside facing the entrance to address potential party complaints from neighbours. As well as one on the back deck overlooking the back deck and hottub area. There are no cameras on the inside of the house.



We ask all guests to familiarize themselves with Covid restrictions and to plan their trips accordingly.



Firearms of any kind are not allowed in the house or on the property. This includes but is not limited to pellet guns, air guns, hand rifles and shotguns.
