This unit features loft style design with bedroom, living room and kitchen in one big open space + one additional private bedroom. The dwelling is characterized by stained glass windows and lots of hand-made art by local artists. 5 skylights provide ample light and an opportunity to see the stars from your bed at night!

There is one queen size bed + one single bed + one full bed for a total of 5 people sleeping.

This space is a good for down to earth, non-luxury seeking travelers who like rustic or artsy scene. There is full kitchen with new oven and new dishwasher.

Enjoy early century architecture in a park like environment!

Walk only 5 min to the ridge and enjoy a free view of the whole Bay, the Silicon Valley and a beautiful sunset with the San Francisco skyline.
Close attractions are the Oakland Zoo, the Sequoyah Golf Course and the Reinhardt Redwood Regional Park with tons beautiful hiking and mountain biking trails offering vista and solitude.

Getting around
It is just minutes away from the 580 freeway for a close connection to your outing.
The bus stop is literally in front of the door for a connection to the BART / subway system and other bus reachable destinations. The neighborhood is safe and it feels like living in a park with lots of trees and green.
San Francisco downtown is only 4 stops away from the closest subway station.

My partner is working in California so I flew into San Francisco for Valentines weekend to explore the city with him. We wanted a quiet and nice place where we could easily make day trips to the city and surrounding areas. This place was perfect for that. Quiet area and beautifully decorated with a lot of art everywhere. It was fun to see the different pieces around the place. The bed area has these really cool skylights above which bring in a lot of natural sunlight, and at night you can see the stars. The host was extremely kind and helpful during check in and told us everything we need to know and then after that just let us enjoy our stay with privacy which was important to us. The place itself is a loft style apartment with everything you would need for a comfortable stay. It kind of has the feeling of staying in a cabin in the mountains because of the beautful landscape surrounding the home. Lots of trees and plants surrounding making you feel like you're staying out in nature. The area is really pretty. Very close to the redwood forest which we drove over to visit one of the days. I believe it was just a 10 minute drive. Around 45 minute drive to san Francisco during the day We would definitely book this place again! Thank you so much. Everything was 10/10 for us

Do not stay here

First I get a message saying hope you’re not looking for anything Luxurious. That should have been my first clue. When we pulled up, there was a for sale sign up. Really?? Then we were told we could only stay in the front “bedroom” ( which wasn’t a bedroom). I’m, we paid for the whole place why are we restricted? Floors were uneven ( I tripped while the host was showing us the place). The window in the front “bedroom “ was boarded up. The tv didn’t work and it was in a closet that had exposed insulation. The place smelled very very musty. Floors were nasty wouldn’t even go barefoot…ewww. We ended up spending extra to stay at the Hilton and going out to eat. We have NEVER had this kind of experience with VRBO. You would think they vetted their host better.

It is funny this guest writes all this as they tried to stay at the house for free and not pay. Freeriders who were doing an affair and hide out place. And as the freeriding did not work out, they put a vengeance review. It was explained in detail before coming that this is a quirky, artsy place and not a contemporary luxurious style. And we are offering at the price of at least half what you can rent similar homes. They agreed with that. Upon arrival the affair couple was shown around and asked if they like it and if it is ok for them. They said it works for them. The next day I saw them and asked them ok, if everything was OK. They said YES. So they were asked two times during a 3 days stay if everything was ok and they confirmed it was. And then they write this review. Obviously everything was OK but they just wanted a free stay. We have discussed there allegations with VRBO also and they have agreed with us. To their false review: The floors are natural slates which actually look and feel awesome. If someone says this is dirty, they are just ignorant and don't know natural stone The boarded window in the bedroom was not a window in fact but it was a wall. Again ignorance on behalf of these people. There is no exposed insulation in the closet but this is walls with wallpaper on them. There is absolutely no must or moldy smell. And finally these people were never prohibited to enter the other bedroom. We just assumed that since they are only 2 people they would not need to use bedrooms and we suggested to them to use the larger, nicer and more quieter bedroom with skylights above. For the price of a studio in the Bay Area we offer a 2 bd place with a front deck and it is an incredible value for visitors looking for a unique experience in a quirky, artistic house.
