Sol & Luna Garden Getaway is a serene oasis nestled in the heart of Oakland. This beautifully converted detached garage offers a tranquil retreat from the hustle and bustle of city life. Step through French doors into a private outdoor patio featuring lush turf, a vibrant garden, and a cozy fire table—the perfect setting for unwinding under the stars.

Welcome to Sol & Luna Garden Getaway, an enchanting sun and moon-themed sanctuary nestled in Oakland's vibrant Laurel neighborhood. Inside, a spacious bed evokes the moon, while a glowing sun spills across the opposite walls. Step outside through the French doors to a private patio with a versatile fire table, all designed with seclusion in mind, seamlessly blending indoor and outdoor space, prioritizing privacy and comfort in both.

Street parking is typically available right out front. Please be mindful of street cleaning signs and ensure you don't leave any valuables in your car.

Follow the pathway beside the house, past the shed, until you reach the wooden gate, the threshold to your secluded retreat.

Open the gate to discover your personal oasis: a patio complete with a fire table, inviting chairs, and a flourishing garden. Glancing up, you see that your outdoor space offers visual privacy from both hosts and neighbors. Ahead, French doors beckon you inside, opening with a code uniquely set for you.

As you step into the room, a loveseat on a sunny backdrop offers a plush spot to unwind beside the mini-fridge with separate freezer—perfect for chilling your favorite treats or keeping leftovers until you're ready to microwave them (the microwave was still on its way when we took the pictures, it's there for you now.) The closet awaits, ready to house your wardrobe and belongings on hangers on the closet rod and in its unique wine box drawers.

A step up takes you into the bathroom, a space equipped for rejuvenation. Enjoy the luxury of a high-pressure shower, ample storage for toiletries above the sink, and the transformative experience of a heated bidet on the toilet.

The bedroom's centerpiece is the bespoke Luna bed, where we cut a large circular arc in a king-sized bed to transform it into your own private sleeping moon. Under the soft bamboo sheets, an electric heated mattress pad offers separate controls for each side, for couples or for singles who like to put their feet in the warm spot. A large window with darkening shades ensures restful nights and serene days. For movie enthusiasts, a projector screen and bedside setup offer a cozy cinema experience.

Around the room, you’ll find practical comforts, like a cabinet stocked with dishes and an electric kettle for easy morning rituals.

A tall whiteboard in the corner, marked with Wi-Fi details, doubles as a space for your creativity or ideation.

- A 5-minute walk to Sequoia Diner, a local favorite for fresh, homemade breakfast and brunch
- A block and a half to Oakland’s Laurel district, with dining and shopping amenities

Vehicular:
- 2 miles (13 min by bus) to Fruitvale BART station
- 15 minutes to downtown Oakland, with access to museums, theaters, and city nightlife
- 10 minutes to Joaquin Miller or Redwood Regional Parks for abundant hiking in the majestic redwoods
- 20 minutes to UC Berkeley and surrounding college town attractions
- 30-60 minutes to San Francisco, depending on traffic
- 15 minutes to Oakland International Airport
- 40-60 minutes to SFO, depending on traffic

No pets, please. Service & emotional support animals must be disclosed prior to booking and may not be left behind without their person.


ACCESSIBILITY

- The bedroom is a single step up from the patio, which is level with the driveway for easy access.
- The bed is in a corner.
- The bathroom is snug, up an 8-inch (20 cm) step through a 22-inch (56 cm) doorway.
- We aim to minimize our use of scented products in this space, and we air it out as much as possible between guests, so your stay here should be a low-scent experience.


NOISE

This is a private home in a residential neighborhood. Please be respectful of others' needs for sleep and help us maintain our excellent relationships with our dear neighbors by keeping noise levels low, especially outdoors at night.


SMOKING

Absolutely no smoking of any kind.
