Come enjoy our new home in beautiful Oak Island! Just a 5 minute drive or 15 minute walk and your toes are in the sand. Enjoy 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and a kitchen stocked for all you foodies :) Relax on our screened in deck or make memories in a spacious living area perfect for family getaways, weekend retreats or friends reunions! Dogs are welcome and we have a fenced yard with a fire pit and grill for your use. Guests are loving all the amenities we provide and the easy access to all the benefits Oak Island has to offer. We have chairs and umbrellas for the beach available as well as beach toys for the kids.
You'll find everything you need to enjoy a day at the beach. We offer restaurant recommendations as we have tried nearly all of them so do not hesitate to reach out.

Very nice rental!

Really nice, clean house. Very well equipped and owner is very responsive. Short drive to the beach. Really enjoyed our stay. Definitely recommend this listing for your Oak Island vacation!

Home was beautiful and pet friendly. Our Cavapoo, Winston loved the home, lol! We had a total of 5 adults and plenty of room. Give Kit’s home and hospitality 5 stars! Home is located in a nice neighborhood and quiet, which we loved! Def was pleased with our accommodation. I have one request, Kit, would you consider adding a pool?

Great place at a great beach!

We had a wonderful stay here! Perfect house for a single family or 2 small families. Comfy beds, clean house. The washer/dryer was definitely a plus. Cute outdoor space as well. Short drive to the beach. We'll be back!

Beach Weekend Trip

My wife and I enjoyed our stay here. Plenty of space for our dog and a lovely back patio and yard. House was clean and very homey. We had a nice walk to the beach at night to enjoy the sunset. It was also a short drive to get on the ferry and spend a day at Bald Head. We would definitely stay here again!

Great place!

Everything about our stay from the check in to check out was amazing! The house itself is darling, clean and stocked with everything you may need in a home away from home. The proximity to the beach and other Oak Island attractions was great. The fenced in backyard made having our dogs with us so easy! I highly recommend this property. I know we will be back!

We had another great week at Tranquil Harbor! This is our third stay, and it feels more like home every time. Our visit included three kids (ages 8, 11, and 15), a dog, and a set of grandparents, and the house was a perfect place for us all. The house is well equipped with items for the beach including boogie boards and beach chairs, and the back porch was a wonderful place for morning coffee and a place to unwind in the afternoon after a morning beach trip. Kit is also always very responsive with any concern we have. We had a problem getting the garbage disposal to run, and she texted back and forth with us helping us troubleshoot until we solved the problem.This has been a wonderful place for our family to make many great beach memories, and we look forward to coming back soon to create more!

Another Wonderful Stay at Tranquil Harbour

This is our second time staying at the Tranquil Harbour house over the last three years. The house is as advertised. It is a very short drive to the beach and all amenities on Oak Island, clean, well maintained, and kid and dog friendly. Our kids (now 7, 10, and 14) really enjoyed having their own space with two rooms and one full bed, a bunk bed, and another single bed to choose from for sleeping arrangements, and the fenced in back yard was great for our two dogs (aged 13 and 2). The master bedroom is also very nice with a private bathroom. The kitchen is well stocked with dishes, cookware, and other essentials (coffee, etc.), and the back porch was great for morning coffee, an afternoon reading space, an evening drink, or a card game between the kids. Kit is a really kind and receptive host. She always responds quickly to any question or concern we may have and her responses are always really helpful. Our family has made many really great memories at this house, and we hope to come back on future visits to Oak Island to make some more!

Beautiful Home

This is a beautiful home in a quiet neighborhood. It was very clean and has everything you need. Close to the beach. The back yard is very nice with a screened in porch. We enjoyed our stay and would book again. The owner is very nice and responds quickly to any questions.

Comfortable, well-stocked home!

We enjoyed this property very much. It was very comfortable, no maintenance issues and the kitchen was stocked better than any house we’ve ever had. Loved the screened in porch and quiet neighborhood. Short drive or bike to the beach. Property owner was very responsive and our trip was drama free!

Perfect place to relax and have fun

I find it hard to put in words and to be honest, this was very nice property. The owners thought of everything to make one feel welcome as well as comfortable. Beach access was close and plenty of parking available. The kids enjoyed the fire pit and had fun time making smoores. We hated to leave. I can tell you, it's great place to stay. Great place for the whole family

The home is beautiful and beds are good. It has a fully fenced yard and the fire pit was a joy for our family. There is lots of parking down by the beach and only a 3 minute drive so it worked great.

Beautiful New Home!!

We loved staying at this beautiful, new Tranquil Harbor home! The house has everything you need for a great week, including lots of kitchen items, linens and towels, beach chairs, etc.. We enjoyed sitting out on the screened in porch and hanging out at the firepit making s'mores at night. We also loved the quiet neighborhood. It was a quick drive to the beach. Kit was great to communicate with and checked on us during the week. We highly recommend this nice home and would love to stay here again!

Wonderful Beach Trip to Oak Island

The Tranquil Harbor house was perfect! It is extremely clean and well-appointed with all that you could need for a beach trip. The owners have thought of everything! From beach chairs and umbrellas, to sand toys and beach towels, it has it all! We traveled with our three children (ages 5, 8, and 12), my mother, and our dog, and everyone had a wonderful time. The kids now have many fond memories that will last a lifetime. The kids all enjoyed taking turns sleeping on the top bunk. The extra bedroom was perfect for my mom as it was her own space yet close to the kids’ room as well. The master bedroom was beautiful with a large walk-in closet to store all the luggage. The back porch was a great place for a cup of coffee, and our boys enjoyed using it to practice their guitars. The fenced back yard was ideal for our dog to wander around and stretch her legs a bit without having to be on a leash. She also really appreciated and claimed the dog bed provided for her as her own during our stay as well as the jar of dog treats left by the owners. The kitchen was well-stocked with all the pantry basics and all the cookware and utensils necessary for dining at home. It was a great place to make a family meal for the one night we chose not to eat out. The house was very conveniently located as easy beach access is available on many parts of Oak Island. We chose to drive and parked across the street from the beach within walking distance of a splash park and playground. So, after many hours in the ocean and sand, we walked to the splash park to wash off before heading home, which proved to be a much-welcomed amenity by kids and adults alike. The hospitality and communication with the owner, Kit, was exemplary. Responses to all questions were quick and helpful. As a perfect example, the coffee pot stopped working during our first day there. I let Kit know mainly so that the pot could be replaced before the next guest arrived. However, Kit arranged for a new coffee pot to be delivered that very evening, a kind gesture that was unexpected but very much appreciated! Overall, the house was perfect for us, clean, and very well maintained. We couldn’t ask for a nicer beach house for our first beach trip in many years. Perhaps the best review was left by our five year old when she asked when we could come back and stay in this house again! We would certainly be happy to stay at the Tranquil Harbor again on our next trip to Oak Island!

Weekend Getaway

This was a wonderful trip for my family and a great experience for first time using VRBO for my mother (visiting from Germany). The property was just as it was in the pictures! The house is wonderful and perfect in size for a family of five or six. The kitchen is fully stocked as were the bathroom which held many towels and supplies. We all felt like home. We definitely will keep this home on our list to return to. Thank you very much for your hospitality!

Adorable Beach Getaway

We loved this adorable little house! It is perfect for a long weekend or a full week. There was no detail the owners did not think of when building and decorating this house. It is small but spacious at the same time! The owner was very attentive and communicated with me quickly each time I reached out. They welcome pets and our dogs loved the house and yard! I hope this place will continue to be nice because you want to treat it as your own when you are there. The furnishings, kitchen accessories and utensils, and access to the garage are all just perfect! We will be back!
