Beautiful property and a nice modern home. We enjoyed sitting outside around the fire pit and watching the local deer run through the yard. The location is close to hiking trails and not far from Empire or Glen Arbor.

Great location to sleeping bear and Glen arbor/empire

House is in a great location to explore Sleeping bear dunes and towns of Empire and Glen Arbor. We hiked numerous trails, enjoyed visiting Suttons Bay and Northport and sunset campfires on Esch beach. This is a perfect place to explore the area .. would recommend :)

Family getaway

My husband and I and our 4 kids had a comfortable stay at this cottage. Everything was very clean and comfortable, and the privacy and being surrounded by nature was exactly what we needed during a busy wedding weekend.

Perfect home base for a family adventure

This home is central to all of the adventures my family had planned while being a peaceful home base to end the day. We enjoyed the home’s fire pit, enjoyed coffee of the deck while watching the sun rise, took advantage of the outside shower and the large closets were perfect. We will be visiting again for sure!

Winter Getaway

This cottage and property were just what we needed to relax after a hectic holiday season. The cottage was spotless and had everything we needed. The property was beautiful and we were able to take advantage of nearby Kettles Trail. We are looking forward to booking here again (hopefully when there is more snow so we can try out the snowshoes). You will not be disappointed if you stay here!

Very quiet which was exactly what we were looking for. Can't see any neighbors. Had everything we needed. Bed didnt hurt my back which i can't say for all places. Close to the dunes climb and glen arbor. Not a bad distance to traverse city. We had a great time!!

Quiet & Close to Everything

Really enjoyed our family stay here! The layout was spacious enough to comfortably sleep our family of five and 2 medium dogs. We appreciated the minimalistic decor and the peaceful scenery off the back patio. The house is well-provisioned and set perfectly within 20-30 minutes of great coastal beaches and Traverse City. Our hostess kept in communication and let us know of local events. Highly recommend - especially if you value privacy and a peaceful nature setting.

Great little place on 4 acres!

Great little house out on Leelanau Peninsula, with a lovely updated kitchen, large couch, heated floors, and plenty of outdoor space multiplied with the National Forest behind. Perfect getaway, especially with the snow just a day before our stay. Communication with owner was spot on and timely. They helped us reschedule our stay when the snows were late to arrive. Very cozy and comfortable. Will be back! :)

Stunning Property

We (family of four) journeyed from the greater Detroit area to the west coast for the Sleeping Bear Dunes and related nature hikes. We stayed beginning of August 2024 for two nights. This house was designed with taste! The interior and exterior are exactly as pictured. The kitchen was well stocked, plenty of towels, spare bedding, washer and dryer in working order, detergents and dish soaps and sponges provided, even outdoor grilling tools were available (like skewers for fire-pit-marshmallow-roasting adventures). Communication with the host was EXCELLENT. Very reasonable, respectful, approachable; extremely responsive. Honestly it was an excellent stay. My only complaint is that the house was not as clean as you would expect. It appeared as if the carpets were not vacuumed, the stove still had fingerprints on the buttons (“bake” and temperature buttons; proving that it was not cleaned from the previous tenants), I wasn’t confident in the toilet’s cleanliness. Makes you wonder if they washed the sheets or simply re-made the bed? You just want the confidence to know you’re walking into a sanitized and cleaned stay; this house was surface cleaned and that’s all. We didn’t spend a whole lot of time in the house so the cleanliness issue didn’t overly subtract from our having enjoyed our stay; however, had we come in colder months or caught bad weather, I wouldn’t have been thrilled. If they cleaned it thoroughly, this place is a dream!!

Outstanding experience

I would highly recommend this property. It's perfect for a family getaway (including our dog on this case). Property is beautiful, very well located close to Glen Arbor and Traverse City. The property owner was very quick to respond our queries and give the support needed. Really appreciated our stay at his property.

Beautiful area with lots to do

This property had everything we needed for a relaxing, weekend getaway! We were provided with so many resources for scenic walks, delicious eats, delightful entertainment, etc. that were mostly within thirty minutes of this already beautiful property.

Peacefully modern cottage

Very well appointed cottage enjoyed by our family. So peaceful! Enjoyed sunrise coffee in the back patio every morning and comfy bonfires in the fire pit most nights. Our host, Deirdre, was a very good communicator and we had no problems at all. Would love to come back and experience this place in the winter.
