Feast your eyes on this awesome and unobstructed view of the West Elks Mountain range and Grand Mesa from our big front porch! The house features 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, living room with sleeper sofa, fully stocked kitchen, dining area, and a second living area downstairs. Outside you’ll find a patio with fire pit where you can sit around a campfire and enjoy the incredible view of Needle Rock and surrounding mountains. We also offer an RV site with full hookup. The Black Canyon is nearby, where you can take in the awesome views and some amazing hiking. Also Crawford reservoir, which offers the opportunity for fishing, boating, kayaking etc, is just down the road. The small town of Crawford has a coffee shop, cafe, and other unique shops. Also a convenience store and hardware store where you can buy groceries and other necessities.

Nice house, setting is the peak

The setting is amazing, just as pictured. We enjoyed sunsets against the mountains and hiking Needle Rock which we could see from the house. I wish I had realized when booking that it was close to the North Rim of Black Gunnison, but the South Rim where the visitors center is was over an hour away (my fault, but just FYI). The house was clean, although it did feel like you were at someone else’s house (I realize that is what VRBO is, but the really good ones make it feel like it’s your house, this one had good in fridge and freezer and kind of a mismash of kitchen supplies, but we found what we needed). Overall, a great stay, but not quite five stars compared to others we have been to.

Great Astrophotography site with over 30 deer observing.

Fantastic dark sky site in a Bortle 2 classification. Perfectly clear skies for great astrophotographic conditions. The wildlife was awesome and house was perfect for us.

Annual Girl’s Getaway

My mom and I take a trip every autumn and we chose Black Canyon of the Gunnison this year. It was a pretty lowkey trip and this hike was the perfect home base for the week! Very clean, very inviting, very comfortable and quiet!! Carl was very responsive and helpful! We had a blast and would definitely come back! Thanks for an amazing week in your neck of the woods!

Jaw dropping views

From the moment you pull up and round the corner when you walk into the house, you are met with AMAZING views. Everything about this place was top notch. From the decor to the extras in the pantry/fridge to the fire pit outside. It was perfect for exploring for the north and south rims of Black Canyon of the Gunnison. Our family of 5 had the best time.

Perfect Getaway Near Black Canyon of the Gunnison NP!

My family and I LOVED this house, and could see ourselves living there! It sits in the middle of a working farm, surrounded by hay fields. While sitting on the front porch, you can see beautiful mountains in the distance and prairie dogs scurrying in the fields surrounding the house! This place is a piece of heaven on earth. You're a short drive to the Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park North Rim, which is just as beautiful as the South Rim, with far fewer visitors, so it's more peaceful. The town of Crawford, CO, is about a 15-minute drive away and has a few stores where you can get gas and firewood. If you need groceries, you'll have to go to Hotchkiss, another 10 minutes past Crawford, but the drive is beautiful and peaceful!

Peaceful

This property is beautiful and so peaceful! It is exactly as described plus some. Mule deer visit daily and we had snow before we left. The view is amazing and it's nice and quiet. We cooked a bit and there was everything needed from pots and pans to spices. We enjoyed our stay and hope to visit again when we are in the area.

Best wedding view ever

We came here to elope just the two of us and what a view it was to wake up to! If you are going in winter months, and worried about being cold... DONT. That little fire place is amazing. Trying to come up with a plan to install one in my own home. Me being a true Texan (born and raised) when my feet got cold I walked into kitchen and the heated cabinets warmed them right up just by standing and making myself some tea and enjoying the oil diffuser. (Also bought one for the house because of this trip!) The house has just about anything you could possibly need to cook, pots, pans, plates and even spices. This really sets this rental apart from others. It is truly a retreat, there is no television, but there is speedy WiFi so a quick movie can be played on laptop or phone. The little town nearby has a nice little market for essential items, but beware that everything closes somewhat early. If you are truly looking for time to focus in on family and/or your relationship, this is most definitely the place. Hoping to come back in the summer with the kiddo to see the difference in the view! Take time to read through the guest book, there are some really cool stories AND artwork in it. We felt spoiled being here and can't stop talking about the fresh air, views, and amazing quality time had.
