Im Gegensatz zu vielen Häusern in Idyllwild, die vollständig in die Pinien eingebettet sind, befindet sich der Dome am Rande des Crestview Drive und bietet an den klarsten Tagen Ausblicke auf das Meer. Er wurde NEU UMGESTALTET! Die Kuppel bedeckt über 1,5 Hektar Land. Beobachten Sie den Sonnenuntergang jeden Abend vom dampfenden Whirlpool oder dem angrenzenden Deck aus, essen Sie draußen oder drinnen oder kuscheln Sie sich vor einen oder alle drei Innenkamine, die vor dem zentralen Lavagesteinskamin angeordnet sind. Das Wohnzimmer hat eine 26 Fuß hohe Decke, die ein Drittel der Kuppel einschließt. Das Haus befindet sich neben einer 40 Fuß hohen Felsformation, in die am höchsten Punkt Mühlschalen aus Eicheln der amerikanischen Ureinwohner eingemeißelt sind. Stellen Sie sich vor, Sie stehen auf dem Deck und beobachten, wie die Hirsche den Hang hinaufklettern. Really pretty getaway spot!

The dome was a great spot for our friend group pups to visit. It’s a short drive/walk into town, the view is incredible, the layout/space is really unique, the beds are comfy, and the kitchen is well equipped. The hot tub wasn’t cooperating for our stay which was a bit of a bummer, and there was a little more non-Vrbo paperwork than expected to lock in the rental, but overall I’d strongly recommend for those considering visiting.

Beautiful outdoor location

Good: Beautiful view and cute outdoor spaces. Well stocked but missing some items including coffee. Property manager very responsive to fix problems with house. Bad: Property manager forces photographs of credit card and license and to sign an extra contract, none of which was REQUIRED when booking and they use an unvalidated system to store these so they need to add it to the property description. Tiny grill. A lot of items are broken like toilet seat cover, ripped leather couch and stairs, fridge did not work on arrival and spent hours with them to fix it. Acoustics carry all noise from downstairs to upstairs so difficult to sleep if people are awake.

The Perfect Dome!

Also, there’s no point in leaving because the views are absolutely amazing & the hot tub while watching the sunset is very relaxing! My husband brought his Sky Light Projector, which looked really cool on the ceiling of the dome at night time! I would book with this company again because of how clean & attention to detail everything was!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We got switched to The Dome upon arrival (issue with the cabin we had reserved). The Dome is at the end of a cul-de-sac but quite isolated with amazing views at sunset. The hot tub is located away from the house, up a few flights of stairs to yield a tremendous view. Do this at sunset and you won't be disappointed at all. There could be slightly better lighting near the hot tub to aid in a nighttime session (quite dark otherwise). The main heater in the large living area was a bit temperamental but there are several space heaters throughout the house to keep rooms warm. The house is very well equipped, you'll lack for nothing, although they could use a real deal BBQ.

The house has an amazing view of the area and was located close to town and multiple trails and parks for exploring. Idyllwild is a charming community and a relaxing vacation. New Spirt Homes was wonderful to work with -- quick to answer any questions and seemingly always available. I will definitely use them again (they seem to run many of rentals in the area)

Unique and comfortable house

We enjoyed this house - the unique design and gorgeous views were the highlights! The house is very comfortably set up; we were particularly impressed by the well-stocked kitchen. There are plenty of outdoor spaces to enjoy the scenery as well. The location of the hot tub is amazing! We couldn’t get the living room TV to work, unfortunately.

Beautiful home and location with some caveats

We enjoyed our time here. The Dome is iconic and thoughtfully planned with comfortable indoor and outdoor spaces to enjoy the majestic views of Idyllwild from the comfort of your residence. The kitchen was reasonably well stocked, nice selection of board games and movies, and the internet was fast and reliable. We enjoyed each of the several patios depending on the time of day and activity (food vs. relaxation). It’s hard to describe how well placed it is— you get beautiful views of Idyllwild all around the property. The sunrise and sunset across the valley are beautiful. 🌅 It is also quite central, near all the necessary amenities and trails. Really great location for exploring Idyllwild from. The property does get very warm however as the sun is hitting it from all sides. There is a portable A/C unit that we were able to pull out of the closet and it did a pretty good job keeping the main living space reasonably cool, but it never got above 85F when we were there. I'd imagine that in the dead of summer the little guy might not keep up. There was a nice breeze in the evening that helped bring down the temp, but did not reach the bedrooms upstairs. Also the beds were very uncomfortable, most of the beds sag to the middle making it especially difficult to sleep with a significant other. We had a pretty hard time sleeping well to be honest so that made it much harder to enjoy ourselves. A few other things to be aware of: 1. The walls are paper thin, and the dome shape enables noise to travel easily making it also hard to sleep. One if the bedrooms is actually a loft, which was the worst. 2. The windows are not private, even the bedroom and bathroom windows have no curtains. 3. For the upstairs bathroom, the lock works but the door can be pushed open anyway. 4. The upper patio table wobbles by 3-4” hard to have a meal on it. 5. Driveway is very very steep! More easily approached from the right, but a loaded car will still have trouble going up. Plenty of space to park at the top though.

This was a amazing getaway. The house is beautiful.

I have nothing but great things to say about this rental. I took my husband for his birthday weekend along with our great friends. The view was astonishing and just breathtaking. It is a big house with plenty of beds we Also rented the additional bungalow so plenty of room for about 14-16 people. It had everything you need. Well stocked with towels, toiletries. The jacuzzi was ready to go when I let them know I was going to use it. Monica the manager was very responsive which is a big plus. The location is great. It is close to the village with so many things to do. I could not have been happier. Great rental.

The Dome

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was more than happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The property mgmt company was great to work with, communication was great, the dome was quirky and unusual-just what we were looking for. The regularly used surfaces we’re very clean, but the whole house could use a “Spring cleaning”-seriously! Attention to details like window coverings over all the bedroom windows, the sprayer in kitchen sink needs replaced and the bottom rack of the dishwasher needs wheels. The largest upstairs bedroom does not have a full wall to the top of the ceiling, so you wake with the earliest riser. The beds were very comfortable and the outdoor space was great!

I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had a good time at the dome house. Beautiful views. The driveway, stairs, and hot tub area (more stairs up from the house) are not for the faint of heart, and we don't recommend for elderly guests. Approach driveway from Hide-A Ln (better angle, see google maps). It was clean, but needs a good spring cleaning (such as spider webs near the skylights). Neighbors are serious about 10 pm quiet time, even on weekends, which we understand as sound travels easily (inside an out of the house).

The Dome

We arrived in Idyllwild just as the roads got very slick from snow and ice, so be sure to have a great set of chains or 4 wheel drive during the winter months as The Dome is uphill! The views are remarkable, especially from the hot tub! The kitchen is fully stocked with anything you might need for cooking. This was a great house for 3 families that love playing board games and hanging out together! Be prepared for togetherness as sound in The Dome carries! The folks at New Spirit Vacation Homes were very helpful!
