One of Edisto's Best! Barefoot Bungalow is a 4 bedroom elevated private home and can accommodate up to 10 guests with ease! Private off street parking is provided and the lot sits oceanfront so you will be sitting front row to the amazing beach views! The back deck is the perfect spot to lounge and watch the waves roll in. Charcoal grill and outdoor shower are also on property for guest use. Inside this charming bungalow you will find a kitchen equipped for cooking high-speed wifi and both washer and dryer for ultimate convenience. The living area is open and spacious with plenty of seating for a large group. There are 2 full bathrooms and a king bed queen 2 full and 2 twins in the home. The property is clean and welcoming. Come and experience this Edisto gem for yourself! Barefoot Bungalow allows up to 3 well behaved, house-broken, flea treated dogs with approval. This is a perfect beach house. The back deck is a wonderful asset - great to watch the waves, rainbows and sunrises. The house has lots of space for gathering indoors - well stocked kitchen and offered everything we needed. Being on the beach is the best!

Great place!

All in all the place was great! Right of the beach! The only thing that would make it better would be if the full sized bed was a queen. The kitchen was well equipped. The fact that there was a walk in shower was amazing for my mother in law.

Great location, cute property and very clean. This was a mix of business and pleasure and Barefoot Bungalow was great for both. Parking is a smidge tight for a huge full-size SUV but other than that there were zero hiccups. We are already looking to rebook this house for a future vacation.
High tide is less than 100’ from the porch.
Moonrise on the porch at night is as good as it gets.

Barefoot Bungalow

I think this place should be called a rustic cabin. It has not been maintained. Furniture was dirty, Appliances are old and rusty. Beds are like sleeping on the floor. When you turn the shower on the handles are loose in the wall. There were no blankets in the house at all. None on the beds. Two outside chairs were in good shape the other two were awful and missing paint. The positive was it was an outstanding setting. Right on the beach and easy access. And btw, if you have any kind of disability or problem with stairs this place isn’t for you. Only access has many wooden stairs and not all are even.

Sort of a last minute trip

The house was nice and clean and we loved being able to sit on the porch so close to the water. The only negatives were the a/c unit was so loud ( but better than no a/c at all), and I picked up a good amount of trash below the porch when we arrived. It was as if someone had thrown their solo cups, popsicle wrappers, half eaten bag of sunflower seeds, and cigarettes right off the porch. Sorry, I was not picking up someone else’s cigarette butts. Overall we were happy and would stay there again, if the a/c wasn’t so loud.

Beachfront Paradise

We booked this stay kind of last minute and were thrilled this property was available! The view from the living room was priceless! We spent most of the time either sitting on the porch watching the waves or on the beach. My only criticism would be the bathroom. It was a bit dusty/dirty on the top of the toilet and cabinet in there. The shower curtain and rod would benefit from being changed out as well. But, let's be real, when you have that view, the bathroom isn't a big deal. Such a calming and beautiful location. We would definitely stay again!

No air condition

Needs a lot of work!!!! Property has not been maintained. Air condition was very loud and ran continuously. Was told we couldn’t turn AC below 72 because unit may break and we would be responsible if unit broke. Temperature was 78 during the day and it would return to 72 around 3am so we were very hot sleeping. We called the office twice and was told the unit was on its last leg and there was nothing they could do. Back door and interior doors are very hard to open and close.

Convenient Beach House

This is the second year our family has stayed at this property. It’s a great location away from the public beach accesses and so easy to get on and off the beach!

On the beach.

We loved the house! Clean, full of light and ocean sounds. Kitchen has everything you need. Great washer/dryer. Needs updating of bathroom 2 shower fixtures and dishwasher racks. The ground level storage room needs cleaning and organizing. It’s a jumble of chairs and stuff. We would return!!

Decent, not great

Positives. Location is great. Very spacious. Well appointed kitchen. Plenty of linens, towels, supplies. Right on the beach with an unobstructed view. Nice big dining area and table. Negatives. That pristine cement pad you see underneath has a foot of sand on it, so it’s not really useable. Can’t park large suv under. It’s not the ritz. Not a level place in the house. Older and a little rundown in need of repairs and basic maintenance. Heat didn’t work, so we froze night 1. On day 2 after the gas was filled, we had to turn gas on and get system running. Host didn’t think a late checkout was worth our headache from not having heat for 1/3 of our stay. Kinda pathetic. Living room furniture is old and worn out. You sink like a rock in the sofas and chairs.

Nice House and Very Nice Beach

The house was nice and it was clean. The only real issue we had is that one bedroom had NO air or AC. Property manager installed a portable AC unit after a couple days. Very responsive. Beach chairs available downstairs. TV in two bedrooms and living room. Walks right out to beach; beautiful view.

Not as it appears!

This home is in dire need to repairs and updates!! I was embarrassed I rented it for my family! The floor is weak and very unlevel! The whole floor needs to be jacked up! They built half floors over existing weak floors!The kitchen needs more utensils! One skillet and 1 wine glass! Ridiculous! The air conditioner struggles to keep house mildly cool! The beds were ok with new bedspreads. The towels were nice. Good beach location. The rental agent was nice and professional. The owner should be ashamed and spend a couple weeks rent on the home at bare minimum! I could afford this home but some families save the entire year for their vacation and they deserve a better place!

Great Location

The view and location of house was great. The house needs A Lot of work. Ac did not work in back bedroom. Our bedroom vents were leaking water from ceiling with mildew around them . The floors in bathroom seemed to be rooting. Mildew going up bathroom wall. Refrigerator leaked all over food on top shelf.

Loved getting back to slow place of Edistoq

Older beach home which we fully expected and enjoyed. Perfect if you are familiar with the area and character of older homes! Our whole family thoroughly enjoyed it. We had bikes and kayaks delivered and enjoyed those as well as games on the beach.
