This large apartment is located in the historic heart of Arles on the 2nd floor, a stone's throw from Place du Forum.

It is located in an old and bright building, it covers more than 110 m2 and has 3 large bedrooms each with a double bed. Each bedroom is illuminated by two large double windows. There are typical shutters as well as curtains. An additional bed in a single bed is offered on the mezzanine. The apartment has two bathrooms (1 shower and 1 bath). The American kitchen is fully equipped and communicates with the dining room. There is a large living room with a coffee table and sofas. The apartment is equipped with a WC independent of the bedrooms. Fiber is installed for Internet in the apartment so you can enjoy a perfectly smooth connection for work or entertainment.

The location in the heart of the historic center is ideal for enjoying all the cultural attractions, restaurants and shops.

This apartment has been classified as 3-star furnished tourist accommodation by the Bouches-du-Rhône prefecture.

Die Wohnung ist schmutzig, besonders die Bäder und lädt nicht zum verweilen ein. Viel zu teuer!

Der Kontakt war per Email sehr nett, allerdings war der Vermieter bei unserer Ankunft nicht vorort. Die Dame aus dem gegenüberliegenden Spielwarenladen sprach kein Englisch und schien mit der Situation total überfordert. Die Wohnung liegt sehr Zentral, allerdings ist nciht richtig sauber. Es liegt überall Staub, im Kühlschrank standen noch Reste und speziell die Bäder waren richtig dreckig und es riecht in einem Bad äußerst unangenehm. In Ergebnis hält man sich niocht gerne dort auf. Für diesen Preis hätte ich viel, viel mehr erwartet. Es ist unverschämt teuer.

Nice but not the place for everyone

Nice and clean and in a convenient area. The place says two bathrooms (both nice), but need to realize that it only has one toilet in a separate water closet. Not what we expected until too late. It is also on the “second floor.” That doesn’t tell you that it is 46 steps up a winding stairway-( it does say no lift.). For us it wasn’t a problem, but for those with problem walking or carrying things, it would be a shock. There is no air conditioning, but fans in each room—we were there in mid September so it was fine but mid summer could be a different issue. Nellie, who is your contact person in the toy store across the street was receptive and Simon the owner answered emails quickly.

Beautiful apartment, perfectly located!

I highly recommend this property! Very lovely space, and perfect location for exploring the old city. Comfortable and well-supplied. Only tips for landlord are to provide hand soap and toilet paper (none of the first, very little of the second). And for potential renters, consider whether climb up 2 flights of stairs is feasible for you (it was fine for us); and the one toilet, in a very small cubby, might be a challenge for a large group. But overall, this is a terrific apartment.

Not as expected

There were several significant issues with this property: 1) It is advertised as having two bathrooms, but that is misleading; one of the bathrooms is within a bedroom and only includes a tub and sink, another is only a shower and sink in a bathroom; but the big issue is only one, tiny toilet which was very hard to use because of the lack of legroom. If we had known there was only this one toilet, we would have rented elsewhere. Maybe it was my fault for not asking the right question; you take a look at the listing and decide. 2) There were no stairway or hallway lights; it is a narrow, very dark stairway and it was impossible to see without flashlights, which we were, fortunately, able to obtain. 3) The only pillows were throw pillows, not true bed pillows. With all that said, we still had a very nice time. If you're going to stay here, make sure you're OK with the bathroom set-up, make sure the lights are back to working, and ask for bed pillows.

Nice apartment and close to everything

The apartment is in the old part of the city, close to restaurants, cafes, patisseries, and the Roman ruins. We were a party of five adults and found the flat to be charming and equipped with all we needed for our stay. (The beds are comfortable.) We had somewhat of a hard time navigating the narrow streets, but once we contacted the owner for instructions, Nelly was there to meet us. It is a climb up the narrow stairs, so be prepared. We could walk to everything, so we just parked the car and explored on foot. We were lucky enough to experience the Saturday market and enjoyed a delicious meal around the table, feeling quite French! The only negative was that the neighbors were having a party on Saturday night and kept some of us awake into the wee hours.

Ideal location

I wanted a place in the old town of Arles, with history at my front door so to speak. And I was certainly rewarded as this flat is about a 5 minute walk to most historic sites and only steps to the central Place du Forum. Getting to the flat at first can be tricky with a car. I didn't try driving the narrow streets and parked to the south of the old town. It was a bit of a hike so I recommend packing light if walking in. I will say that this apartment is best for those without a car. Of note the train station is a convenient 10-15 minute walk - a lovely walk through historic Arles and then along the Rhone River. Checking in was easy. We met Nelly at her toy store. She was very friendly, always smiling and she helped us out gettIng in (for English speakers only she does not speak English so be sure to have your questions to the owners in advance). The apartment is on the third level (or 2nd floor in France). So some stairs are required. Upon entry the apartment is spacious as advertised offering three large bedrooms (one with bath and sink), a nice living space, loft, toilet room, kitchen (stocked with all cutlery, cookware, cups and plates we needed), and washroom with sink and a very nice shower. The house was clean and with the fans the heat here (it was over 30 degrees Celsius every day) was never uncomfortable within the apartment. And despite being in a central location it was never too loud inside either. The space definitely suited the five of us perfectly and we had a great stay. Outdoors, the Place du Forum is less than a minute walk (and is where Van Gogh painted Cafe la Nuit). Many Roman sites dating back 2000 years are found just a short distance away. Some of places where Vincent Van Gogh painted his most famous paintings are found here (an English language Van Gogh Tour was offered starting at the tourist office on Wednesday at 5:30). If you are a foodie you may wish to consider dining at Rabanel and be sure to get ice cream at Soleileis. Don't miss the incredible market on Saturday morning (there is a smaller one held on Wednesday). And if taking day trips I highly recommend spending a day at the Pont du Gard (the famous aqueduct near Nîmes) and the beautiful village of Les Baux de Provence (don't miss Carrière de Lumière). The train station located nearby from which to take the bus or train to your destination. Just be advised that the busses and train don't run too late to plan accordingly.

Spacious and Airy Apartment in a Great Location

We spent 5 wonderful weeks in this spacious and airy apartment. The location was very convenient being only a stone’s throw from the Forum and five minutes’ walk from the Arena and other archaeological or historical sites. The shopping and market area and grocery store are also very close. Arles has many attractions which we explored at our leisure, but also used it as a base to discover the surrounding towns and villages in the hills and the Camargue. The train station is an easy 15 minute walk so a convenient way to get to the larger towns of Avignon, Aix, Montpelier, Marseille and Nimes without the worry of driving and parking. The apartment itself is very large and can easily accommodate 6 in privacy. It is located on the second floor spanning both sides of an ancient building so even though it was hot outside and no air conditioning, we were able to get a great cross breeze to stay cool. The large French windows also provided pleasant views over the streetscape. It is furnished in a comfortable style and has all the amenities needed for a home away from home. The bathrooms are modern and clean but one point to note is that there is only one toilet which is located off the lounge area. The kitchen even though it is an older style functions well and is conveniently placed with a servery accessing the dining area and lounge. The Wi-Fi also works well. Nelly the apartment caretaker who owns the gift shop across the street, greeted us with so much warmth and enthusiasm and was a delight. The owner Damien was also very responsive and accommodating and very helpful.

Avec toute notre petite famille (6 personnes), nous avons adorés notre séjour à Arles qui est une petite ville pleine de surprise. L'appartement est super et calme malgré qu'il est en plein centre ville (à 50 m de la place principale du centre historique). Il est par ailleurs confortable et équipé de tout ce que l'on peut imaginer... je recommande à 100%.

My husband and I frequently visit (yearly) my family in Montrouge/Clamart France and we had this beautiful furnished 3 room appt Mid Aug 2016. This appt is very spacious, very clean and comfortable for 6 persons +, is very convenient w/ walking distance of the 2 Supermarkets, Restaurants, Cafes, Ice Creams, Chacuterie, Patiiseries , Cafes, and Boutiques nestle into Arles. Those Boutiques have unusual clothing, shoes, jewelries, gifts, eyes glasses and they are perfect for people who love rare things like us and are beyond "coquette/coquet" Our stayed was great! The appt had everything that we needed to make our vacation very comfortable at the South of France. The appt was very neat and clean when we arrived. Nelly was super super friendly/helpful. and so was Damien. Everything was beyond our expectations as we come from USA ... Every single day we stop by at new beaches. One day trip was so cool and wonderful ... Nimes, Port de Carmague, St Maries sur Mer, Le Graw du Roi, Bandol area (Hyeres, St Sanary Sur Mer). Marseille. We regret that our stay was only one week long. The weather was perfect during our stay. We definitively come back to this appt. Kudos

Great apartment, great customer service in a beautiful town

My family and I made this apartment and Arles our base camp during our visit to Provence and had a wonderful time. The apartment was well decorated, clean, and nicely furnished. It slept the six of us quite comfortably. When we were later than expected arriving, Nelly met us after hours to give us the keys. The owners were quick and thorough in responding to questions about the apartment both before our stay and while we were there. The apartment is in the old part of town, just a few blocks from historic sites and the beautiful town square, where we had breakfast and dinner on several occasions. Drives to Avignon, Pont du Gard, the Mediterranean, and other Provencal villages were short and easy. We would definitely stay at this apartment in Arles again.

Very pleasant apartment in a wonderful location

The decor is not remarkable, but the rooms are very good sized, the beds are exceptionally comfortable and the kitchen is among the best equipped of any VRBO rental we have known. Nelly looked after us with great charm and competence. Most importantly, Arles itself is a delightful town full of lovely streets and sights and intimate, first-rate restaurants. Closest to the apartment and next door to each other are the Fee Gourmande and l'Autruche, the former offering excellent, varied Provencal cooking, the latter, high-class nouvelle cuisine. For an inspired menu with Moroccan overtones and a delightful proprietress, see Nora in Le Cadore in the rue Voltaire near the Arena. Do not miss the Antiquities Museum to which a shuttle bus goes every 30 minutes from the boulevard des Lices near Rue Gambetta, on the same side of the Boulevard as the Theatre d'Arles. Also the David Hockney show in the Fondation van Gogh a block from the apartment is beautiful and eye-opening.

A LOUER SANS PROBLEME

L'appartement est très spatieux, très lumineux conforme à la description sur le site, il peut recevoir 7 personnes sans être les uns sur les autres. Nous avons été accuelli par des propriétaires charmants et soucieux de notre bien être. Nelly la propriétaire du magasin de jouets le Farfantello face à l’appartement était là aussi si nous avions besoin. Pas de problème pour faire les courses. Nous avons passé un très agréable séjour dans cet appartement situé dans le coeur historique de Arles. Nous avons découvert cette très belle ville riche en histoires, et en attractions culturelles, les enfants ont adoré. La plage, du Salin de Giraud est facile d’accès même au mois d’août. A faire une promenade en bateau sur le petit Rhône pour découvrir la camargue. Vous pouvez louer cet appartement sans problème, vous passerez un agréable séjour. Seul petit soucis pour garer la voiture, il faut marcher un peu.

Spacious apartment bursting with charm

My wife and two children (5 and 3) loved staying at Arles Liberte. It was such a welcoming home away from home with a real provincial feel, just a stones throw away from Place du Forum. The owner was a pleasure to deal with. Highly recommended.

Nous avons beaucoup apprécié notre séjour en Arles avec des amis, au moment du mois de la photo. La salle de séjour est conviviale. Nous n'avons utilisé que deux des 3 chambres, bien indépendantes, avec nos deux salles de bains, la troisième chambre et la mezzanine n'ont été utilisées que pour des hôtes brièvement de passage. Nous avons apprécié la localisation idéale de l'appartement, près de la place du forum, le fait d'avoir à disposition plusieurs clés de l'appartement, et , également, le fait que les détails pratiques de la vie domestique aient été prévus (poudre pour le lave-vaisselle, huile, vinaigre, etc...), de façon à faciliter le quotidien des vacances. La personne chargée des clés et du ménage était charmante et interpelable facilement en cas de problème. Nous avons trouvé cette formule de vacances, en groupe, et en ville, très agréable: les marchés, les expositions, les restaurants d'Arles, ainsi que le caractère et les couleurs de l'architecture, nous ont beaucoup plu.

A Delightful Apartment in a Perfect Location!

What a charming 3-bedroom apartment in one of the best locations in the historic part of Arles -- just off the Forum gathering-spot where VanGogh painted his famous Bonne Nuit Cafe scene! We were first greeted by the incomparable petite, vivacious Nelly who manages the apartment and owns the gift shop just across the street. Nelly was delightfully friendly, talkative and helpful (although her English is limited). She takes a personal interest in her vacation renters and does everything to make one feel happy and comfortable. She greets us from her shop each morning and evening or when riding her bicycle en route to her business. The apartment was very well equipped with all of the kitchen appliances, utensils and cookware we could possibly want. We did need instructions, however, on how to use the washing machine (in a bathroom) and the oven which are quite different than North American appliances. Each of the three bedrooms has french doors/ windows which open up to either a courtyard or the narrow street out front, allowing a lovely breeze come through the room. A real bonus for this particular apartment is that it has a telephone which we were able to use to make free long-distance calls to landlines in the USA or to any type of telephone in France! A real convenience and cost-saver. The apartment is perfectly located just off the Forum which is THE gathering spot for Arles residents and travelers who frequent the many cafes in this busy square. Everything else in this beautifully historic city is within easy walking distance -- the Rhone River bank, the Roman Arena and Theatre, shopping and several very good restaurants. Be aware that linen/ towel rental is an extra fee -- which is typical of French vacation rentals. The owner was always accessible by phone if we had questions or special requests. They speak excellent English and did everything possible to make our stay pleasant and enjoyable. We would return again without hesitation. And the weekly rental rate is VERY reasonable, considering the ideal central location and the 3 bedroom/ 2 bath space. A charming and very French home-away-from-home in every respect! Tres jolie!

Charming apartment; fabulous location

This lovely apartment is comfortable and extremely well-provisioned (almost as if the owner's family lived there and just went away for a few days). It was extremely well-located a couple of blocks from the main plaza and, in the other direction, just a few blocks from the river and city walls. One of the MOST important positive aspects was the apartment manager, Nellie, whose lovely shop was right across the street. She was cheerful, helpful, available and adorable. Three separate bedrooms gave the three of us gal-pals great separation with a lovely gathering place in the comfortable living room. We would stay here again with pleasure and would recommend it to others.

Excellent moment!

Nous sommes venues avec toute "l'équipe son" du festival "cargo de nuit" et avons énormément apprécié cet appartement pour quelques heures de repos au calme. Il est très spacieux et permet aisément de vivre à 7.
