Welcome to Papaw and Nanny’s Place! We invite you to kick off your boots, rest, and stay awhile. It is our desire, as their grandchildren, to show the same hospitality we learned while spending countless hours on the farm. Whether it was learning to drive a tractor, hang tobacco, or just take every step Papaw took, we saw firsthand how valuable family and friends are and to cherish every moment together as if it were the last.
Nanny was always welcoming folks to drop in and visit, back when a phone call was not needed to ask, they just knew the Davis door was always open. So, we open the door to you! Come and feel the peace and serenity the Davis Ranch has to offer. If you are looking for a quiet place to unwind, or a perfect location to explore all Western North Carolina has to offer, look no further than the Davis Ranch.
The Davis Ranch is a 50 acre family farm in Leicester, NC. In conjunction with the vacation home rental, the farm continues to pasture beef cattle and horses. We have a designated pasture just for our renters- so bring your horses and ride (or hike) the many trails of WNC. The property is centrally located to many popular equestrian destinations including Biltmore, Cataloochee Valley, Pisgah National Forest, Dupont State Forest, and many more!
The property manager is a native to the area and grew up riding the trails and would make a great resource for area information and trail maps. Her contact information will be made available upon booking confirmation to help answer any questions you may have.
Please note the house is 1970’s ranch style house with enclosed sunroom addition. We have tried to keep it as original as possible and have used family heirlooms for furniture and decoration. We ask that you help us preserve our heritage by being responsible and taking care of the house and furnishings. It is for this reason we ask for a damage security deposit.
Please note that we do have outdoor cameras in the front and back of the home. These are in place for the security and safety of our livestock. Please do not feed or touch the horses/cattle on the property. They are on special diets and could get sick if fed something they are not used to. We ask that you also please be respectful to our animals and their owners by not entering pastures or barns.
Thank you for choosing the Davis Ranch to be your home away from home!
