Summary:
The whole group will enjoy easy access to everything from this centrally located home. Typical New Orleanian shotgun home, freshly renovated with hardwood floors, granite kitchen countertops, and modern equipment. Year-round hot tub and outdoor bar with patio lighting! We are located within a walking distance of the French Quarter in the most exciting part of the St Roch neighborhood. You are walking distance to the St. Roch Market and the Allways Lounge!
The Space:
The shared patio area is my favorite part of this home's experience. The hanging lights and patio set make it a perfect place to lounge while relaxing in the hot tub.
We've recently painted a jazz mural on the gate so please admire the cool art when looking for our home!
Guest Access:
Guests have access to the entire home while we share the patio space on the side of the house.
The Neighborhood:
This is an up and coming neighborhood close to the French Quarter. It's most noted location is the wholly renovated St Roch market, featuring local treats that include hand shucked oysters ($0.75 after 9 PM), empanadas, and specialty confections and cocktails. The Healing Center shares yoga and the healing arts with the community, as well as a co-op and art space. For nightlife action, you can't go wrong with any of the 3 hot spots two blocks away: the Allways Lounge, Hi Ho, and Kajun's Pub.
Getting Around:
There is ample street parking in front of the house. A streetcar picks up four blocks away from the home at the corners of St Claude Ave and Esplanade (you can find more information about Nola public transit on its website). It's a short 7-10 minute walk to the Frenchmen St side of the French Quarter. The best walking route is to take Marais St to St Claude Ave and walk towards the FQ on that street. I do suggest taking an Uber ride to Bourbon St as it's about a 15 min walk to prime time Bourbon St.
Other Things to Note:
Photos featuring all things Nola by local artist Cory Fontenot!
You can find the iron and ironing board in the closet of the back bedroom. Luggage racks can be found in all closets. Most importantly, if you use either the BBQ grill or burner please turn off the propane tanks. Will send instructions for operation of hot tub and grill in welcome messaging.
Our home is a non-smoking home. You are certainly welcome to smoke in the patio area and place cigarette butts in provided ash trays but smoking in the home will incur a minimum $1000 fee.
The home is settled in a residential neighborhood with our neighbor's back yard butting against the patio area. Strictly no music to be played after 10 PM and noise levels must be reasonable at all hours of the day especially between the hours of 10 PM and 9 AM.
There is one Ring security camera on the front corner of the home directed at the street and main wooden gate entry.
Interaction with Guests:
When I am available, I hope to be able to interact and hang out with guests. I'm an avid traveler and love to hear and tell stories, maybe even cook gumbo and play some music.
