Relax and enjoy the privacy and serenity of this 1902 restored Farmhouse and Property! Explore your own private pond where you can canoe, swim, catch and cook your fish on the brick grill in the pic-nic area by the Pond, walk the trails thru the fields and woods and enjoy the bounty and beauty of the gardens for your stay! This property has many charming and unique features including a newly remodeled, fully appointed and well stocked kitchen, so if you like to cook and whip up meals and snacks for yourself and your crew, this kitchen is for you! (all new appliances, gas range, fridge and dishwasher, including oils, condiments, spices, most kinds of cookware and gadgets) There is an island and cabinets stocked with silverware, bowls, wine glasses and a cocktail bar/server with ice bucket, shaker glass, bar tools, highball and shot glasses. The antique farmhouse table in the dining room can accommodate 8 or more people (there are extra chairs as well) and it all flows from the kitchen so you can be together and enjoy your mealtimes!

There's a large spa-like bathroom downstairs with subway tile shower, 2 large bedrooms with luxurious Queen beds downstairs, antique furniture, a record player and some records (feel free to bring your own), WiFi (if you want to work or stream your games or shows) and also a washer/dryer!
The house has central heating and A/C.
Upstairs has 2 large bedrooms sharing a Jack and Jill Full Bathroom with a Shower, toilet, vanity. There are window A/C units if needed to help cool you down for the warmer summer months. One Upstairs bedroom has 2 full size beds perfect for teens or children to share a room together (or adults)! The other has a comfy Queen bed and a sofa to sit and read, have a coffee, relax. ***NOTE - ADDING THE UPSTAIRS BEDROOMS, BATHROOM TO YOUR STAY INVOLVES ADDING THE EXTRA GUEST FEES - BASE RATE APPLIES TO THE DOWNSTAIRS 2 BR ONLY AND CAN ACCOMMODATE UP TO 4 PEOPLE. ADDITIONAL CLEANINNG FEE OF $25 ADDED FOR STAYS THAT UTILIZE THE UPSTAIRS ***

This house is perfect for families or couples wanting to enjoy some time away, relaxing, walking the trails, enjoying the garden, fishing, cooking out or in, playing games and enjoying each other. THERE IS NO TV!!! You're welcome!!!
But there is high speed internet so if you want to stream your music or shows....

As you look either way up or down the road, ours is the only farmhouse on our road!
Sit out on the front or back porch in your rocking chairs, relax and watch the world go by! Light a fire in the firepit off the back patio, toast some marshmallows and enjoy the night sky and sounds!

Tractors, 4 wheelers, neighbors in their pick-ups, occasional school bus or mail carrier is about the only traffic you'll see here. (normal days see less than 10 or 15 vehicles go past)

The property has a 100+ year old Barn, beautiful flower and vegetable gardens and 4 acre pond complete with an old brick fireplace to have fires or cook-outs, 2 canoes, a flat bottom boat, lawn chairs, a picnic table, fishing poles, floats all stored in the Pond Shed, charcoal grills, cornhole, outdoor lights, a firepit, games, extensive walking trails in the fields and the woods and much more!
A stay at the Huffman Family Farm is a perfect way to relax and unwind, enjoy nature, sleep in (or rise early), cook some great food and make some memories! Dog and kid friendly retreat that is unsurpassed and not so far from civilization!

The entire farm property has been put into a conservation reserve program. The fields are all planted with native Illinois prairie grasses and wild flowers. There are beautiful walking trails around the property fields, around he lake and thru the woods to enjoy.
